Every summer my family goes on a 2 week camping trip. This is real camping out in the middle of nowhere, no stores nearby, etc. This will be the first year we will attempt this trip while 100% raw. There are 8 of us and I have , I think, the largest cooler known to man. 155 qts or so. Anyway, I already have a list going, but any suggestions on what to pack as far as food goes would be a greatly appreciated. We cannot live on flax crackers, dried fruit and nuts for 2 weeks. Well, I guess we could, but what fun is that? Any ideas??

I would say dehydrate as much as possible, both fruits and veggies. Bring along plenty of Larabars. Those can be ordered online if your HFS doesn't carry them. You could make a ton of fruit/veggie juices, contain them in Ball jars and freeze them. Start drinking them when they start to de-freeze. Save the nuts and dried stuff for later on in the trip. You could also bring along Master Cleanse ingredients (maple syrup or agave, lemons, and maybe even cayenne), and that can keep you full for a while. Buy a couple boxes of clementines, they last a while. Buy bananas that are really really green. Buy things that will take a while to ripen, like really hard avocados, green pineapples, and nanas. I would also take along some green super food powder. You can add a couple tablespoons to a bottled water for extra nutrients and energy. With all these things, all mixed up, you should be alright. I think it will just require a lot of thought and planning. Write it all out, maybe. Make food plans and buy accordingly. Good luck and i hope your trip goes well!!

A cooler can keep things cool only for so long. So if I were you, I would start out with the most perishable of foods and when those were gone, move on to the less perishable things like apples and then to the dehydrated stuff.
Will you be able to forage for things? Around here there are plenty of berries to be had in the woods if the timing is right.

I camped in the desert last year-all raw. I had a great time. I took lettuce and ate it in salads while it lasted which was about 5 days in a cooler. The best thing is young coconuts-the water rehydrates you and the meat fills you up and is delicious! And they dont need to be refrigerated.
I made a ground walnut (grind them before you go in you want) taco meat
1 1/2 cups walnuts
1 1/2 tsp cumin
3/4 tsp coriander
Cayenne pepper to taste
lemon juice
add nutritional yeast if you like.
Mix with tomatoes and/or lettuce while it lasts but its good on it own as well.
Apples last well and fruit with rinds:oranges, melons, lemons last very well.
Drink water with green powder if you run out of greens.
Most of all-keep it simple! Don't do recipes-just stick to whole fruits and veggies, dried fruits and nuts. Enjoy being outdoors and dont worry about food too much. :)

i would say sprouts sprouts and more sprouts..... very easy to grow in a few days... super cheap... and super nutritious. ...
also, i personally take camping trips as a time to fast... maybe try to master cleanse since it will keep you energized.... that's just what i usually do though.
also, i don't know where you're camping but read up on the wild edible species in that area.... it's amazing the things you can find!

Doug Walsh hiked for months on a raw diet. Here's some recipe ideas that may help tons:
