Hi everyone,
So today I made Alissa's stuffed mushrooms and they are great but I did not know what to do with the stems so I wizzed up olive oil, a nice sized clove of garlic and some noma shoyu in the food processor and marinated them in that for about 30 minutes turning often. Then I put them in the dehydrator with the mushroom caps and omg let me just tell you that they taste identical to the garlic butter mushrooms we always used to get at the fair and are every bit as good as the ones at the restaurants. I am going to serve these to guests and they will never know they are raw until I tell them.
Now I am going to do the same to portabello mushrooms and make some kind of sandwich. yummy

Lisa, that is exactly what I do with those stems,
also you can add, sliced red bell pepper, onion, cauliflower, broccoli, julienne zucchini, carrot, and anything else you like, and it is a fantastic stir fry, NO one can tell the difference. YUUUUMMMMMMMMYYYYY

YES, one of my favorites. Even my carnivore hubby loves mushrooms this way, in fact we were at a friends house the other day, and they are not raw, not even vegetarian, and they loved my RAW pesto stuffed mushrooms so much that we left them about a half dozen or so, the next day she tried to warm them up a tad in the microwave, and she said they were ruined, so she is going to buy a dehydrator JUST to make the pesto stuffed mushrooms, I totally agree, they are my very favorite raw food, I eat them almost every day.

Lisa, you've stumbled on a great way to eat veggies. It was discussed several months ago on this forum ... and there was a flurry of marinated veggie eating! Mushrooms are the quickest ... and portabellos are the most meaty-tasting, as I'm sure you found out today. But ... any veggie sliced thin and marinated is great even without the dehydrating which I rarely do anyway.

How fun that you're discovering new yummy things to eat.

Hey what a great idea making a stir fry type of meal like that. Thanks. There is so many types of foods you can make and I have just touched the tip of the iceberg here. I will look back through the posts for marinated veggies and see what I find thank you both.
