Kaybee is absolutely correct, you will have to call. 760-359-3211. Talk to Jamie because he has such a huge variety. Try the Barhi dates they are so good and melt in your mouth with a silky smooth caramel flavor. I've always loved Medjool, but the Barhi dates are delicious!! I don't know what I'm going to get with my next order, but I will definitely take Jamie's lead. :)

I called and he said they are about three weeks behind...to leave a message and they'll call back when they catch up abit. I will try those...see what he says...I was thinking Medjool but will give those a try. On the message he mentioned this new you tube video...very cool..man those trees are high!!!

I bought a variety pack with a friend, and now I can't remember which date was my favorite!! I want to say it started with a "k". It was very soft, and sweet DUH...my mom actually thought (when I put an almond in the middle) that it tasted like pecan pie!! I sure wish I could remember the name, any clue you guys? Is the list at the bottom of their site, the entire list of every date they sale?? That might help jog my memory.

That video was too cute!

By the time I went to order last year, I had missed the season!:(

But this season, I've MORE than made up for it. We go through 15 pounds in our house pretty quickly, and I like the date I've gotten from Jaime MUCH better than dates I've bought anywhere else!:D

So make sure you get your order in, don't miss out like I did last year!:o

Sunshine (or someone else that knows!) -- When is the season?

I'm going to try to call them later today, but I'm thinking I would loooove to get some dates soon. :)

I got a 15 lb box of "seconds" for dirt cheap. you had to pick through some of them and there was one variety that you had to particularly watch out for little critters in (too bad cuz i really loved those ones; have no idea what kind they were, but they were black and less sweet, tasted like molasses), but i still got way more than my moneys worth, and alot of different varieties in there. alot of them were "imperfect," some were kind of drier than you would like, or had surface blemishes--thats why theyre "seconds" and cheaper, but i loved the variety. there was a really soft one in there with an almost licorice taste that i really loved too, though have no idea of any of the varieties.

Hi Eva -

Date harvesting is usually about October through March, depending on the farmer.

I just got 15lbs. of the 8 variety pack. I got Barhi, Deglet Noor natural, Black Fingerling, Khadrawi, Halawi, Marcons, Zahidi, and Bliss dates. Jaime choose them for me, as I had no idea what to pick. Shipping included, they were like $5 a lb. versus 8.99 a lb. for organic medjools at the HFS. :D I can't choose a fave, they were all too good. I even decided to be crazy and take some photos of them. There are now less dates than pictured... They also sent me a Ghandi quote about raw food with my order. How cool is that?

I just called! The harvesting season (at least for The Date People) usually ends in earlier than March, but they run out of their dates in March - May.

So now is the time to contact The Date People if you want to try to get some this season! :) (Although it might be delayed a few weeks -- but better in a few weeks than not until November!)

I just called as I was low on my stash of medjools and I ordered exactly what you got and can't wait until they arrive. The woman I spoke with said I might find a small round date that is out of this world in the pack as well.
