View Full Version : Wrinkley Fingertips: what's this all about?

Hi!

I've been juicing my greens (and other colors, too) 2X per day, eating veggies, some fruit, and feeling wonderful since May 1st.

However, last week I noticed my fingertips are wrinkly, like I've been in the pool too long. I was reminded about it again this morning, and thought I'd post, to see if anyone out there has had this problem, and how to solve it.

I "drink" 2 quarts of veggie juice per day, and at least one quart or more of water daily, I rarely use salt or salty stuff (but several times per week, I'll nosh on some pretty salty seaweed as the mood hits me), and I'm not eating cooked anything.

Rarely do I have more than 1 oz nuts and/or 2 tbs olive oil daily.

The wrinkles are actually at the bottom of the fingertip pads, along the line of the first joint. It's just...different, but it doesn't look right.

Anyway, you may see this same post on another board, don't be offended! Just trying to reach the largest number of people to find out the answers to this, another "Mystery of the Universe".

Thanks!

That's very interesting. I actually have that on a few of my fingers only I've never noticed until you mentioned it. I have lost a significant amount of weight. Could it be that the skin hasn't caught up yet? The other thing is that I'd get this dry blisters on my finger tips. It's happened off and on over the years. When I first went raw, I had them on every single finger tip and then it went a way. Detox? Hmmm.... espeicially if you're heavy on the juice vs. whole foods?

Could possibly be detox. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the fingertips are known known as the 10 Diffusions ~ used to transmit energy. Maybe a blockage there and they need to be massaged to assist in (if not a physical) an energetic cleanse?

I've had these weird wrinkles in my fingers and entire hands and feet since childhood.

They go away when I drink tons of water, other wise they are always there, no matter what I drink, unless it's water.

I have been drinking abourt 32 ounces of fresh orange juice a day, and it is still there, so I started adding is 16 ounces of water at least 6 times a day, and it is starting to go away.

don't know if this is the reason, or maybe just holding a glass that often, makes them go away, but it is helping. LOL

Well, live and learn, I always say!

I sure can drink more water, its just that I don't remember to fill up my huge water bottle once it's empty.

Maybe that is the problem!

I'll experiment, starting right now, and will let you know what (if anything) changes.

You guys are great! Thanks!

you can also get water from certain fruits like grapes ,citrus and melons, but pure water is definatley important !!!!!!

Quick note. I used moisturizer on my hands a couple hours ago and the lines have lessened although they haven't gone away.

could you possibly be dehydrated? Interestingly, I found that the best way to get hydrated is to eat lots of juicy fruit. Before raw, I used to carry a water bottle with me all the time. Now, I do not do that anymore and I hardly ever drink any water at all (Why? Because I do not feel thirsty!), yet my skin is smoother than ever! I eat heaps of juicy fruit. Right now, I am having juicy mandarines for luch, 12 of them. Fruit contains the best quality water, anyway. :)

All the best,
Gosia.
