Hi all! Been watching the thread recently (again). Was interested in going Raw last summer..got my dehydrator and juicer..used a few times and then it all went in the toilet! Life changes at the time didn't allow me to go forward. Well, here I am again and this time it has to be for sure! I am ready! I have been over weight since my second child, added a few more pounds with the 3rd and I am tired of it. I am tired of something always hurting!! I have recently found out that some of my problem all these years seems to be some sort of auto-immune inflammatory disorder. Classic symptoms...and I am tired of paying my chiropractor to do the same adjustment over and over again b/c it wont stay due to the inflammation in my joints!! So now..2 days being 85-90%? raw (except for dressing and some tea and smoking of course) On the 3rd day I had some cooked food after my salad last night and man, I felt so bad all last night and all today! I know it was cause I ate to cooked, not because I didn't eat cooked before that! Cause I felt like crap as soon as I put my fork down. So today, day 4, I have hardly eaten anything, am so not hungry at all! Bloated and just feel like crap in general! I am supposing that this may be normal since everyone has different reactions to going raw and eating cooked! Husband has same general feel like crap symptoms but appetite is better than mine. Well now that I have given you the run down..here I am..We live in Ohio..we are a little wet at the moment, but not flooded! Glad to be here!!

Welcome!! So glad you're giving raw a try:D I can relate to you on the overweight and things hurting - don't worry it will get better! As you go more raw, you'll lose weight, and as you lose weight you'll stop hurting. I lost over 65 pounds this past year, and plan on losing at least another 50 this year with raw living. I can't tell you how much better I have felt since my weightloss!

LOVE your name, btw~ I know many people into dragonflies!

Thanks for the welcome!! I did order Alissa's book the other day and can't wait till it gets here! I must say that Easter dinner at my Mom's house was a disaster for us! Usually there are more fruits and veggies than anyone can eat! Well, wouldn't it figure that the time comes when I want nothing but that...there is virtually none!! One fruit tray and one small veggie tray!! My hubby and I emptied the veggies and then went after the fruit for desert!! 4 different cakes there and I have to say, that NONE of them even looked appetizing to me! I was shocked that I didn't even want any of it!! I am very proud of myself!!:D

As far as family dinners.....I've become know for my wonderful green salads (I don't know why they think they're so wonderful, maybe because they don't have iceburg lettuce in them and I do sprinkle sunflower and sesame seeds on top) and I also try to bring a dessert. This way, I can have a big salad and enjoy dessert with everyone.

Welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy Alissa's book and DVD....they're everything you need to go raw.
