Starting up a new thread for anyone and everyone looking to do the master cleanse. you don't have to necessarily go the full 40 days, we are all here to help and support eachother, no matter what length of time you decide to embark upon. Well today is 13 for me and I'm doing pretty good. I'm kind of surprised that I've only lost about 4-5 pounds, but I think I may be getting ready to start my monthly visitor, and I'm sure that is probably stalling the loss some. Well good luck everyone and lets be here for eachother!

I had a false start last Thursday. That's typical for me to eeeasssse my way into a fast. Usually takes me a couple of days before it 'sticks'.
Gawd, I just can't stand that SWF and really need to get over myself on that one. What works for me the best is 16 oz of warm salt water followed by 16 oz immediately of plain warm water. Still works instead of the full 32 oz of salt water. Uhhh .... I also have to hold my nose to get down the salt water.
First thing in the morning I enjoy a mug of the lemonade made with warm water. Something about warmth first thing in the morning for me and last thing at night.
Since I do intend to go the 40 days, I'm going to journal and perhaps blog my progress. I started at this time because my husband is out of town and I thought it would be a great time to begin this with a little health/spiritual kinda retreat. Work as necessary if called (I'm a massage therapist), otherwise it's meeeeeeeeeeeeeee time with walks in the woods, meditation, naps in the hammock, coloring mandalas, reading, playing flute, djiembe drum,
and little or no TV and limited computer time.
I'm going to sit down, journal and really focus on the reasons I desire to go 40 days on this. Then I think I'll condense it to an index card and keep it with me for those moments I might be tempted to break it. I used this trick years ago when I quit smoking. (Even though I only smoked for 3 years, it was still a tough habit to break and I emphathize with those that smoked longer and are trying to quit)
Welcome everybody. And why not introduce yourself if you wish, and why you are here.

Lindsey, I think it was you that had asked about probiotics. Here's what I found from another forum.
The question had been asked about how long. The person had a month's supply and was wondering if she should finish the whole bottle. This is the response.
"On the probiotics question, yep....take it till it is empty. However, I would also strongly encourage you to take a probiotic at least every 3 days or so as a general rule. Depending on what issues you may have or have had in the past..you should be certain your pro has the bifidobacterium as well as the lactobacillium or acidopholis. The bifidos are great for intestinal balance and bowel health while the lactos are good for many female issues including yeast and vaginal health. Probiotics are a staple at my house and have been for about 2 years now. They boost your immunity tremendously as I've experienced it and they sure make for easier digestion and less yeast/UTI infections depending on what gender you are of course and depending on what pro you are taking. "
Hope this helps.

thank you so much for that. i appreciate it. thats kinda what i was figuring, a months supply and then kinda as a "as needed basis afterwards." i didn't have really any digestive or gastrointestinal problems before this cleanse, so thats good. i guess i'll just have to see what my body tells me it needs after this mc. thanks though, i do appreciate you lloking that up for me. hope you're doing well on your mc

I had started the MC on Thursday and got thru that day and most of Friday, then ate. Kept on with it and did okay till 4-5 on Saturday, then ate. Kept on with it and made it all day yesterday and feel like I'm well on my way.
This is usually how it goes with me during a fast. Like I'm my body needs time to prepare itself for the long haul. Now I feel ready. And the fact that I've lost 5.5 pounds since Thursday is GREAT incentive to continue on.
I've had a minimal amount of discomfort so far except for hunger pangs. I've had some waves of headaches, but nothing too severe. I'm mostly lethargic and have allowed myself all the rest I desire.
How goes it with you Lindsey?
Priscilla where are you girl?

hey there! i'm doing good, thanks for asking. i can't believe i've made it 2 weeks already and am feeling pretty good the whole time. glad to hear that you're doing good. the headaches will pass and so will the tiredness. but keep in mind that we probably will experience them again later into this. one thing that i have been experiencing lately that i thought was weird was that i feel so thirsty for water. i've been drinking water along with the lemonade, but first thing in the morning its like i just can't get enough of it. i'm sure its helping me to cleanse though. well glad everything is going good, and keep us posted!

03-24-2008, 12:00 PM
I noticed the same thing regarding the water. It's like I want to skip the lemonade first thing in the morning and just drink water for awhile, but decided that it would be best to have the lemonade to keep away hunger and THEN drink the water.
About the SWF ... I was re-reading The MC manual it calls it "another cleansing aid"
"A LAXATIVE HERB TEA is found to be the best helper for most persons. It is a good practice to take a good laxative herb tea right from the beginning— the last thing at night and first thing in the morning.
There are several good laxative teas. They are best taken in a liquid form. Buy them in your health foodstore.
ANOTHER CLEANSING AID: INTERNAL SALT WATER BATHING"
So I'm not going to continue to try and choke down the SWF every morning. I'll probably do it every other day or so.
Keep up the good work. What day are you on now?
lanettasmouse
03-24-2008, 12:18 PM
thanks, yea i agree if you can't stomach the swf, don't force yourself and just have another laxative tea in the morning. i have the sef most mornings and then when i'm out at my fiances parents i do the laxative tea morning and night. this is day 15 for me. and overall i'm feeling pretty good.

Made it through my 2nd full day. As noted before, I've made a couple of attempts at this cleanse. I am greatly encouraged now because the hunger seems to be pretty much under control except for late at night (10-11pm) and it's MUCH better than it was previously and MUCH better than the 5 day cleanse I did in January. I stopped after 5 days back then because the hunger was just terrible and I figured I just wasn't ready.
I hardly have any headaches now, and since switching to the laxative tea instead of the SWF I can actually see myself going the full 40 days this way.
I still will probably do the SWF every so often as time and schedule allows.
I've changed my mental and emotional outlook regarding toxins this time around. Now this may sound strange to some people; my belief is that everything is energy/ Life -- at whatever level of frequency it is vibrating. So instead of looking and feeling toxins as the enemy, I am now consciously sending them Love. If I experience any discomfort at all -- whether it be a headache or cramping from the tea, I send that area Love. When I do that I can feel a space opening up inside, and the pain stops almost immediately and I feel that I've actually done a service to toxins!
I believe I am really going to enjoy the rest of this journey.
I 'see' everybody that is participating in the MC as healthy, happy, peaceful and encouraged.

hey guys!!
it was difficult to start this weekend, as i had planned, seeing old friends and such, you can't just skip out on the dinner.
so i started yesterday and have been going strong.
i do realize that i will need a huge push, specially since coming back to school!!

keep it up guys!
we're all doing so well!

Priscilla, one thing that I'd like to encourage you about is ... if you don't make it a full day, or the next day, or the next ... keep on keepin' on. Keep drinking the lemonade and such as much as you can, even if you end up eating a meal and simply start fresh again the next day.
For me, I've noticed that there is an energy momentum created that finally 'clicks'.

Got through Day 3 with hardly any problems. No headaches. No cramping from the tea. I MUCH prefer the tea vs. the SWF, and I still have gunk coming out.
I actually sat and watched TV last night with my husband while he ate dinner and had only an initial reaction to the sight of food, which quickly passed as soon as I made a quick mental note as to why I was doing the MC. Any craving then left.
Hunger late at night was managable. I am waking up with no hunger at all and basically have to force myself to drink the lemonade.
I thought I read someplace that peppermint tea is allowed, although I can't find that in the book. I'm doing it anyway as it seems to help my resolve as well as the healing properties.
"Peppermint has menthol, as it's active ingredient. Menthol helps ease diarrhea, headaches and colic in babies. Peppermint also contains B vitamins, calcium, and potassium.
Peppermint essential oil menthol is known to promote digestion and help prevent gallstones. It soothes the stomach lining relieving stomach cramps. The B vitamins in menthol help improve concentration and performance in the brain and nerves"
How is everyone else doing?

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/hidot.gif ... Aloha Rawbies !!
I was going to start a thread -- and wa~laaa -- there's already one here So I thought I'd jump in!!
April will be my 1 year anniversary raw. So I will begin a 40 day MC fast to give my body a rest in the 'digestion' area.... do a full cleanse down to the cellular level ... and allow my body to concentrate on healing and repairing and whatever else it needs to focus on.
I'm very excited and in fact have several people here on the Island that I will be counseling through a 40 day cleanse with me. Once they found out I was doing this -- they also wanted to join in... so that will be interesting!
I look forward to blogging here and keep a record of what I'm going through and how I'm feeling....
AND... although it is my heart desire to do a 40 day fast (which I have done them in the past...) it is also very important to know when to break the fast --- to listen to your body and know when your body is saying -- "okay - enough..."
so - it is fully my intention of going 40 days ... but I will also use wisdom and take things day to day. This fast is not 'just about being able to say - I fasted for 40 days...' BUT -- THIS FAST IS ABOUT MY HEALTH.
Glad to be jumping in on your thread here ...
RAWk on!! I'll be checking back in soon!
oh - and also--- very cool -- one of the people that will be fasting with me - their neighbor has a tree filled with lemons!!! organic lemons and we can have as many as we want!!! Hallelujah! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/thyahoo.gif ... Cuz well.. I dunno bout everyone else - but the ingredients can get costly here in Hawaii ... so if we can get free lemons - THAT'S a major blessing!!
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/lotusbloomsj6.gif ... looking forward to the healing !!

welcome starfire, glad to have you join us! that is fantastic about your free lemons, lucky you!:D . well today is going pretty good, i am a little aggrevated, but i'm sure that has to due with me going on my cycle soon. but feeling really great otherwise. glad to hear we are all doing well. keep us posted. and i absolutely agree to listen to our bodies, only our bodies are intuitive enough to tell us when enough is enough. thank you for reminding us of that starfire. and starborne, yes i remember reading about the peppermint tea as well, but i do not recall as to where i read that. i think it should be fine and if it helps, then i see no harm in doing so.

Hi all!
Just wanted to drop by and let y'all know that I've found that momentum that you were talking about.
Also, because my fast is not only for myself but kind of for a cause, I decided to be public about it and tell my whole school, as well as get support from my friends.
I feel like it was the only way I can do this and keep wanting to!
Though I will listen to m body, sometimes you just need a push!
thanks guys and keep going strong!
p.s: I'm really raising awareness which makes me incredibly happy!!

Here's an article reminding what happens during detoxification.
Ya'll probably read this before; still, it's a great motivation.
What Are The Effects Of Detoxification On The Body?
A single cell within the human body is more complex than the most modern supercomputer. The process of removing a hundred thousand antigens, each with unique molecular properties, from trillions of functioning cells is indeed a complex process. Imagine three trillion cells being repaired during the function of countless biochemical processes needed for life. Even the best mechanics have to turn off the engine. Yet, the body has millions of micro mechanics that do this with ease.
One of the body’s automatic maintenance processes is the destruction of foreign microorganisms. When looking through a dark-field microscope, countless parasites are clearly visible. I observed parasites living inside blood cells. Several could be seen eating cholesterol, and I was amazed to see one swim. Watching lymphocytes moving in the blood was like a science-fiction movie. These complex, lymphocyte organisms attached themselves and engulfed toxins. As they did, their colorations flowed into fascinating patterns leaving me with a sense of wonder and respect for the miraculous ability and infinite complexity of the human body.
The stages of detoxification
Here is an overview of the detoxification stages during a juice fast. The time periods are a general estimation.
Stage 1 of detoxification (Day 1 To Day 2)
On the first day of fasting, the blood sugar level drops below 70 mg/dl. To restore the blood to the normal glucose level, liver glycogen is converted to glucose and released into the blood. This reserve is enough for half a day. The body then reduces the basal metabolic rate (BMR). The rate of internal chemical activity in resting tissue is lowered to conserve energy. The heart slows and blood pressure is reduced. Glycogen is pulled from the muscle causing some weakness. The first wave of cleansing is usually the worst. Don't go on a juice fast without reading Dr. Moser's 266-page step-by-step Juice Fasting Guide.
Dr. Moser has put many patients on juice fasts and she teaches what to expect on a juice fast. Download her guide today!
Headaches, dizziness, nausea, bad breath, glazed eyes and a heavily coated tongue are signs of the first stage of cleansing. Hunger can be the most intense in this period unless the enema is used which quickly assists the body into the fasting state by ending digestion in the colon.
Stage 2 of detoxification (Day 3 To Day 7)
Fats, composed of transformed fatty acids, are broken down to release glycerol from the gliceride molecules and are converted to glucose. The skin may become oily as rancid oils are purged from the body. People with problem-free skin may have a few days of pimples or even a boil. A pallid complexion is also a sign of waste in the blood. Ketones are formed by the incomplete oxidation of fats. It is suspected that the ketones in the blood suppress the appetite by affecting the food-satiety center in the hypothalamus. You may feel hungry for the first few days of the fast. This effect is temporary. The desire to eat will disappear. Lack of hunger may last 40 to 60 days, depending on whether you are on water or juice.
The body embraces the fast and the digestive system is able to take a much-needed rest, focusing all of its energies on cleansing and healing. White blood cell and immune system activity increases. You may feel pain in your lungs. The cleansing organs and the lungs are in the process of being repaired. Periodically, the lymphatic system expels mucoid matter through the nose or throat. The volume excreted of this yellow-colored mucus can be shocking. The sinuses go through periods of being clogged, then will totally clear. The breath is still foul and the tongue coated. Within the intestine, the colon is being repaired and impacted feces on the intestinal wall start to loosen.
Stage 3 (Day 8 to Day 15)
On the latter part of an extended fast, you can experience enhanced energy, clear-mindedness and feel better than you have felt since childhood. On the downside, old injuries may become irritated and painful. This is a result of the body's increased ability to heal during fasting. If you had broken your arm 10 years before, there is scar tissue around the break. At the time of the break, the body's ability to heal was directly related to lifestyle. If you lived on a junk-food diet, the body's natural healing ability was compromised.
During fasting, the body's healing process is at optimum efficiency. As the body scours for dead or damaged tissue, the lymphocytes enter the older, damaged tissue secreting substances to dissolve the damaged cells. These substances irritate the nerves in the surrounding region and cause a reoccurrence of aches from previously injured areas that may have disappeared years earlier. The pain is good as the body is completing the healing process. The muscles may become tight and sore due to toxin irritation. The legs can be the worst affected, as toxins accumulate in the legs. Cankers are common in this stage due to the excessive bacteria in the mouth. Daily gargling with salt and water will prevent or heal cankers.
Stage 4 of detoxification (Day 16 to Day 30)
The body is completely adapted to the fasting process. There is more energy and clarity of mind. Cleansing periods can be short with many days of feeling good in between. There are days when the tongue is pink and the breath is fresh. The healing work of the organs is being completed. After the detoxification mechanisms have removed the causative agent or render it harmless, the body works at maximum capacity in tissue proliferation to replace damaged tissue. While a short fast will reduce the symptoms, a longer fast can completely heal. Homeostatic balance is at optimum levels. The lymphatic system is clean except for a rare discharge of mucus through the nose or throat. After day 20, the mind is affected. Heightened clarity and emotional balance are felt at this time. Memory and concentration improve.
Stage 5 of detoxification (Breaking the Fast)
The sticky, toxic, mucoid coating on the intestinal wall is loose, and the first meal frees it from the intestinal wall. Toxins enter the blood through the colon. The gallbladder dumps its waste in a heavy discharge of bile. This can cause an instant bowel movement upon eating followed by intense diarrhea. If the symptoms are too uncomfortable, an enema will help.

Here I am on Day 7. Doing pretty good; I am experiencing some hunger late at night, I curb that with tea. Actually went out with family and watched them eat while I drank water. It is amazing, though, how much of our social lives revolve around eating and drinking.
I certainly am learning new habits. Like how I can actually sit and watch a movie on TV and not eat. I sip on some mint/or Smooth Move tea.
I'm noticing some pain in my legs when I first try to go to sleep; I haven't hit that raring to go phase of wanting to express alot of physical energy. Some funny lumpy feelings in my throat on and off all day yesterday.
I am waking up earlier, I am feeling more of an overall sense of happiness. I've lost 8.5 pounds since Thursday, 3-20 (when I started and then ate a couple of meals Fri/Sat) . No real headaches to speak of.
This morning is the first time I feel ready to do Bikram Yoga. I know this will help release even more toxins.
Blessings to all going into the weekend.

I'm so happy all of you are doing such a great job!!!
Today is day 4 for me and I'm going strong, no food cravings whatsoever. Something that I realized will help me with this process is that while you're fasting you're kind of forced to take things one day at a time. I'm taking this as a blessing since most of my friends are graduating this year and I only have so much time left with them, these days I'll just appreciate being with them even more!

Through~out our life time ... there are things that we experience (be they good or bad) that change us forever....
taking Alissa's 5 day Certification Class was one of those moments in my life that changed me forever.

Well actually, there isn't a place close. I would have to drive 1.5 hours ! I bought Bikram's CD and book and turned my bathroom into my yoga room also.
I use three heaters and run a hot shower leaving the water in the tub. I can get the room up to about 95 degrees.
I've been missing Bikram since I moved from the Clearwater/Tampa FL area to the north Georgia mountains (wouldn't change that decision for the world! ).
I figure what I'll do is catch that class about once a week and also go the largest organic food market (which is also the closest one to me) in the same trip.
Thanks for the feedback on the class. I really want to do both. I'd love to make a difference in not only my own health and life, but also help those up in this area that are looking for a change.
I like how you're mentally preparing yourself for the MC. Keep up the good work.

Can someone help me with some questions about the Master Cleanse?
- Candida issues? Would I be feeding it with the use of maple syrup?
- What about mixing in green juices ? Not at the same time, but use the lemonade at one point in the day and later drinking green juice?
- Are you all using grade B maple syrup?
- Can you clarify the measurements?
- Does anyone have the link where I can look at the on-line book on this?
I just finished 24 days of juice feasting, which was a major accomplishment for me. But I barely touched the tip of the ice berg when it comes to healing. I had lumps rise up on my neck! Woke up one morning- there they were. I actually consider that an accomplishment. I think my lymphatic system is trying to work stuff out. I can't stop now, but I've run out of money to buy enough fruits and veges to make four quarts of juice a day. I've been eating healthy/raw for a few days now. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Combine 2 tbsp. of fresh lemon or lime juice, 1 or 2 tbsp. of organic Grade B Maple syrup (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000ENQXHC?tag=thechiroprainf02&creative=373489&camp=211189&link_code=as3&creativeASIN=B000ENQXHC) and some cayenne pepper (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0005XN478?tag=thechiroprainf02&creative=373489&camp=211189&link_code=as3&creativeASIN=B0005XN478)(as your taste allows), per 1 c. of pure water.
2. Drink a minimum of six cups of this mixture a day for a minimum of 10 days. Eat no solid foods. You may drink herbal teas (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000E65ORY?tag=thechiroprainf02&creative=373489&camp=211189&link_code=as3&creativeASIN=B000E65ORY) and water as well.
3. Use the salt water flush to keep your bowels moving every morning -- or you may use laxative teas (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000E65ORY?tag=thechiroprainf02&creative=373489&camp=211189&link_code=as3&creativeASIN=B000E65ORY) in the morning and evening to help your body eliminate the toxins accumulating in your colon as the lemonade cleans your entire system. Taking enemas on the last few days is also highly recommended for clearing out your colon.
4. Break your fast by drinking orange juice for two days to prepare your stomach to assimilate other foods. On the third day, drink orange juice in the morning, raw fruit for lunch, and fruits and salad for dinner. Resume normal, healthy eating on the next day.
Tips:
Avoid heavy exercise during this fast. Light yoga, walking and gardening are excellent ways to stimulate your metabolism without straining your body.
Expect the greatest amount of hunger around the third day (this varies slightly according to your metabolism).
Warnings:
Pregnant women and children should not fast.
If you have diabetes, heart conditions, ulcerative colitis or epilepsy; if you are under 18 or under weight, if you are on medication, use extra caution when fasting.
If you have any questions or concerns, contact a physician or other health-care professional before fasting. This information is not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment
It is really important however, that you do some research on your own so that you are familiar with what your body will be going through - and to get a full understanding of what this kind of cleanse is all about...
hope this helps!

- What about mixing in green juices ? Not at the same time, but use the lemonade at one point in the day and later drinking green juice?
hi stina. just wanted to let you know that a friend of mine met david wolfe while she was on mc last year and asked his opinion on it. he suggested that she add the juice of (guess what?) a head of celery each day.
definitely not saying we should take the word of 'gurus' all the time, and you should try it and see how you feel, but there is support for adding other juices to the mc. personally i don't see how it could hurt besides slowing detox a tiny bit... and at the same time probably letting you extend the cleanse a little longer. know what i mean?

I've heard it recommended for these longer fasts to add wheatgrass juice. I've got a manual juicer ordered and am looking into how to grow it. This is something I've wanted to do for a long time, so now seems perfect to do it.
And Stina, congratulations on your 24 day juice fast. That's great! Happy to have you here.

gosh -- http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/smiley_consoling.gif I'm so sorry you're in pain... that's one reason why i don't do the SWF... my body just seems to rebel against it!
I started using the laxative teas at night - and that helped me immensely.
as far as right now -- I would say -- try to flush your system out -- drink as much water as you can.... up the cayenne in your MC drink --- cayenne surpisingly is very healing to the tummy....
hope you feel better soon....

Peeks in - Hi Starfire you got my attention when your name popped up under the fasting thread. Hi to everyone else too!
I am on day 6 of my fast. I was going to do a mastercleanse only and because I have done this fast so many times before I am kind of worn out from the lemonade already. So with that being said I will be doing both the lemonade and other juices for a bit of variety. My goal is to get down to 125 so I figure it will take me another 2 weeks to do so. Today's consumption:
1 liter of Mastercleanse lemonade
water
Hiya everyone...
After being "absent" for a while, I really feel I need something to jumpstart my return to eating raw again. I'm torn between doing the MC vs. a juice feast fast vs. just jumping in to eating raw again.
I've been doing Weight Watchers since July 2007 and have lost over 50 lbs., but don't feel vibrantly healthy as I did when I was 100% raw. So, here I am... again.
Morn - You look *amazing*! I just visited your blog, and your journey is so inspirational! Very important as I have a lot to lose! Can you tell me what other juices have worked well with the MC? I tried to do this last year, and after one day on the cleanse, just couldn't stomach the lemonade. I like the idea of mixing other juices and/or smoothies into the cleanse.
Can you have just juices or are smoothies okay to include too?
Starfire - My Meyer lemon tree is loaded with lemons right now, so with free organic lemons, how can I lose? I've missed you!
Any tips you can give me would be appreciated... I'm clearly addicted to food, especially cooked food, and need some help getting back on track again!
Thanks!

Is it pain in the stomach itself or the colon?
I can't do the SWF, it just doesn't agree with me. I do the laxative teas, but they also give me cramps. I just deal with it and it passes. I started using one tea bag steeped in a small teapot and drinking it morning and night.
I still get a lot of stuff coming out.

Welcome Mary and Morn.
Morn, I hear ya about desiring to add other juices. I'm going to do add some wheatgrass juice.
Today I discovered kombucha tea. Oh yum! I think I'm overdoing it though. Someone gave me a quart they made and will be giving me a SCOBI from their mother so I can make my own.
Since both the wheatgrass and kombucha are so detoxifying, I thought it would be a nice addition to the lemonade.
Last night was a bit rough for me. I felt very shaky and weak and generally just 'funny'. Almost got up out of bed to do an enema. This morning I was better, but still didn't feel right.
After I had a shot of kombucha, I started feeling better, so I'm glad to start adding that.
Now, I know that one can experience low blood pressure while fasting and I'm wondering if that is what I'm experiencing as well as any detoxing. While out shopping, I took my blood pressure and it was 99/50 !!

this pain that I'm having. It's like nothing I've had before so I'm thinking it's my colon, but nothing's really coming out.
I'm hoping tomorrow everything will just come out with the SWF.
thank you so much for your help guys and tomorrow's day seven!

Thanks for your kind words. Congratulations on losing 50 pounds! How awesome!:) When fasting you don't want to have pulp in your juices so I would stick with just the lemonade and any other fresh fruit and veggie juices (without pulp). I am not really doing the MC this time around. Kind of making up my own little fast. I guess for me I need some variety this time around so I am doing the MC lemonade and other fresh juices. Since you don't really like the taste of the lemonade I would suggest that you maybe do a juice feast. You can find out more information at http://www.juicefeasting.com/. I myself am not following any particular formula right now except that what I am consuming is all liquids. Tonight I drank the water from a young coconut and it was yummy (in addition to my MC lemonade earlier today). Tomorrow it will all most likely be lemonade for me as it will be a long 12 hour day at work and I have my lemonade mixed and ready to go (no time for juicing tomorrow). The one good thing about the MC lemonade is it is easier than juicing a bunch of produce every day. That is why I do it cause it saves me a bunch of time and I am not hungry drinking it. Hope this helps.

Dear Morn!
Thanks for your message and for the link to the juice feasting site! I do have a Green Star juicer, so I can do the juicing... it's the multiple trips to the store to juice all the produce that will be challenging to me! I like the idea of doing a juice feast! I just visited the juice feast site and I'm really excited! I'm thinking this might be the best way to go, perhaps combined with some lemonade when I can't juice.
Thanks again for your help! :)

Well, I made it thru the first 10 days. The last couple of days have not been too fun for me. My blood pressure is really low. Yesterday 92/70 and I just don't seem to have alot of energy. I did manage to make it to a ballroom dancing class with my husband, but I just don't seem to have alot of energy to do any kind of exercise.
I still have junk coming out from the laxative tea, so I do want to continue with this but I am having a hard time fully functioning as far as being active.
Emotionally feeling kinda of blaaaahh... not really down depression, just, well blah is still the best word I can think of right now. Mentally kinda fuzzy too.
I guess this is all a part of the process ???
No headaches, but yesterday I developed a sore throat. Don't know if it's actually cleansing or if I 'caught' something. Either way, continued fasting is till the best thing!
Oh, and I seem to have hit a plateau with weight loss the last couple of days. No wonder they say not to weigh yourself everyday.
Now that I'm done complaining  (can't wait to get my bracelet from
www. A Complaint Free World. Org) ...
Ah well, this too shall pass.
how is everybody else doing?

brilliant! slushies is even better!!!
I hear you on the cold thing -- I even get cold and I'm in Hawaii! I kick up my cayenne intake and that helps some... last night I slept in sweat pants ... dh just shook his head at me... http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/shakehead-1.gif
day one went fabulous... and I'm absolutley SHOCKED at how detox kicked in already!!! yep.... how can that be --- perhaps cuz I don't eat 100% organic? hmmmm... I dunno.. but snuffly nose... headache, already feeling like my teeth need to be brushed every hour (I'm watching my tongue for that 'tell tale coating...' bleccchh...)... don't look forward to that! and of course... going potty -- ALOT!
I'm already feeling some of the bloat flushing out.... I was feeling so swollen from all the meds they put me on while I was in the hospital...
Day 2 is going well too... only when I was making dh's lunch this morning I almost popped a grape tomato in my mouth and just caught myself ..whooops!! it's amazing how I eat without thinking...
off and on today - the passing thought has wandered thru my brain... so - WHY exactly are you doing this fast? It's a salad for God's sake - just eat it... it's raw... just EAT it!
then I stop and think.... Why did I just think that...
and I check in with my body --- "Are you hungry?"
and the answer is a resounding "No - I'm quite happy thank you!"
so strange... so -- that tells me I have developed a habit of grazing all day -- to stave off hunger... I eat when I'm not hungry - and I eat when I don't need ANY food... I eat just to put something in my mouth and well --- chew it....
not a good habit at all. Wow... gunna have to work on that... Conscience eating ... pay attention.... this is going to be a really great fast!
oh - btw -- I think I mentioned that several people were going to be fasting with me and wanted me to 'coach them' through it... uhhhh...they dropped out already!! (ah well... that's okay really - cuz - when they're ready -- then they'll be ready!)

Day 3... still have a bit of the snufflies, but not as bad as yesterday. Headache gone (yippee!)... achiness in the body (feels like that achey feeling you get just before you get the flu... blahh)... but tolerable.
Mood... ummm... cranky. but I'm not sure if that's just cuz I'm cranky with my husband or if I'm cranky from detox... Or both  ! this too shall pass!

Hello peeps! Today is day 10 of my fast and I am at 136. It seems to be the trend that every 2 days I lose a pound. I would like to lose another 11 pounds before I end my fast. Which could take me another 22 days. Ugh! I am half enjoying it but half of me wants this to be over. I worked earlier today and am a bit tired. I juiced some grapes yesterday and boy does fresh grape juice seem to do the trick. It seems to be a natural laxative. I am elimating stored up toxins, etc. What ever it is I am happy to release it. Does anyone know if it's safe to take antibiotics while on the MC? I have a dentist appointment coming up and i have a heart murmur. I usually need to be pre-medicated. however, I'm willing to reschedule appointment until after this fast. I was just curious? thanks...
charika... the long and short of it is --- Yes it's "safe" to take the anitbiotics - it may upset your stomach though. If this were me.... I would stay on the fast - take the antibiotics and take a pepcid or tums or something (I know rawbies - don't yell at me.... this is just what I would do...) ... and I would keep my dentist appointment. If you take it (other than an upset tummy - nothing horrible will happen to you - no major problems and I don't think it will slow down the cleanse in any 'measureable' amount).
I wouldn't sweat it -- (personally). Yes on the MC - ideally - you shouldn't take any medication or pepcid or anything that needs to be digested... but sometimes -- I just gotta do what I gotta do... and there you go.
I have to be practical about this LIFEstyle - and it has to be do'able for me.
I PERSONALLY would stay on the MC - cuz I wouldn't want to lose all the effort and the benefits I have accompished so far...
but that's what I would do .. you need to follow your own intuition and do what you feel really comfortable with! ;)

For some reason, my e-mail wasn't notifying me that there were posts on here! And I didn't exactly have anything positive to add on my own. Glad to see everybody is doing well.
Morn, I'm stuck with the weight thing too. I fluctuate between 139.5 & 140 -- it's been days now.
I've come to the conclusion that the maple syrup is not a good thing for me. I think I have candida. I did the spit test .
http://www.nomorecandida.com/test.htm
My tongue is still heavily coated, and the syrup is just feeding the candida. So I'll do the lemonade without the syrup.
Planted my wheatgrass yesterday, so it will be a couple of weeks before I add that to the program. Since I plan on being on this for 26 more days, I'll still be able to get some juice in on this fast.
I'm adding some Amazon Herb tea, which helps with detoxing, and Kombucha. I'm ADDICTED to Kombuca. I'm also adding diluted organic cranberry juice. So much for sticking with the program. But you know the saying "How's that workin' for ya" ... and the straight MC program wasn't.
I see the benefits of the cayenne pepper, lemon juice and the laxative teas. I'm definitely cleaning my colon!
Gotta run ... have a FULL day today, my energy is finally starting to return and I think starting tomorrow I'll be adding Bikram yoga -- finally!:D
Blessings to all.
Today is day 11 of my fast and I am at 135. Yeah an unexpected weightloss based on my trend. I woke up and then did my exercising. I need to do some juicing and things around the house. I tried on some clothes after shopping yesterday and I have to say I like the way I am finally starting to look in my clothes (and I like being a size 4). I think a lot of people don’t understand my desire for weightloss as they see me being at a healthy weight now but my goal has never changed. I am not trying to be anorexic or anything just trying to get rid of a few areas of concern like my lower stomach which seems to now be going down. I think I pulled my back out of alignment as I was exercising today so I know things aren’t quite right there. However, overall I am feeling good and at peace. Haven't had anything yet to drink except water but I am thinking about opening up my last young coconut and drinking the water from that.
Today's exercise: 1 hour of Yoga Booty Ballet's Advanced Fat Burning
Starborne - I am glad you are doing what works for you! I am kind of on my own journey too. And I feel I am going to go the duration I have to allow myself some latitude to have some variety. Hopefully you will break strongly into the 130's next week. 140 number has been a place my body seems to be comfortable at and I want to be 130 or a hair less which is at the bottom of my BMI.

Aloha Rawbies... I'm entering into day 5 here.... doin fine... not hungry at all ... but I seem to be going thru some emotional detox.. cuz I'm feelin sooo bluu... no apparent reason that I can figure out... just feelin like I'm gunna cry any second now!
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/wolf-2.jpg ... I'll just howl at the moon a bit ... and this too shall pass!!
starborne... I'm so glad you are following your instincts... that's what makes this journey a success... knowing when to change direction and listen to our bodies and what it needs! RAWk on!
morn... Amazing... size 4... that is so wonderful! someday - when you get time - it would be wonderful if you would share here with us -- how everyone at work has responded to your weight loss!
happy saturday everybody!! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/04.gif have a blessed day!
Starfire - Big hugs go out to you! Sorry you are feeling so low.
At work - well most people are very positive about my weight loss. I have people who still think I should be eating meat but they can't argue with the results and the way I feel. I have a friend there that is in awe cause she knows how much I struggled before raw and she can't even believe I am the same person. Then there are people there that I think they seem to have an attitude toward me but I think it is an envy thing. (You know how sometimes you don't like the people who have what you want for yourself kind of thing). And then there is the extra attention from the guys that I never had before - if you know what I mean. I have never been checked out or hit on at any job since I was in my 20's and now I get comments daily. I work in the cable industry so I am around a lot of interesting types. I am very clear about being happily married but I still get offers (sometimes they are married too):( . It is quite shocking to me as I am happily married for 15+ years and would never even think about being unfaithful to my husband. But overall I think I have gained a lot of respect from most people.

Starfire ... Hang in there. Emotional lows and crankiness are definitely part of the detox process. One of the reasons why I started the cleanse when my hubby was out-of-town!
Lanettasmouse: You are doing so well ! Gosh, and for someone that hasn't done this before it's amazing!
Morn ... Congrats on moving the scale AND getting noticed. Hey, happily married or not, it DOES feel good to turn heads, let's admit it!
If I could figure out how to post some before and after pictures I would.
I had some photos taken of me at 49. I was and still am determined to beat the perception that mid-life is something to fear and to break the concept that as we age the inevitable breakdown of our looks, attitude and body happen.
Well dang ... I got married, turned 50 and put on 25-30 pounds in the last year!!! I'm normally comfortable at 115-120 (oh Morn ... size 4 ... YES, I remember those days!!! ) ... 125 TOPS ... and here I was at 150 !!! I NEVER weighed that before in my LIFE.
There's been a lot of hoopla regarding Law of Attraction lately. Nothing new to me as far as that knowledge. This experience has shown me clearly that we get what we focus on ... and that means the "don't wants" (I don't want to get fat, I don't want to look old) just as much as the "wants" .
Now I'm focused on what I clearly desire. The best health I've ever experienced in my entire life, being a size 4 and 110-115 lbs. (unless I'm so solid with muscle that it causes me to weigh more!!). This fast is going to jump start me into becoming 95-100% raw to accomplish my desires.
I'm here to say ... 50's are the new 30's!

Yay! Finally lost another pound. :)
Made the mistake of having yerba mate yesterday while working, and didn't get to sleep until 4:00a.m. No more of that!
I came home yesterday and made the most wonderful green juice. I've missed it so. I juiced cucumber, tomatoe, spinach, celery, cilantro, ginger, garlic with 1/4 c. of lemon juice and sprinkled in some cayenne pepper. I ate it in a bowl with a soup spoon. Oh yum. Oh yum. Oh yum!!
Throughout the day I also had liquid minerals with lemon juice, diluted cranberry juice, about 4 glasses of apple cidar vinegar with cayenne and the yerba mate.
I was able to put in a very full day at the spa with no problem of lack of energy during the massages. I didn't even have the green juice until I came home.
This is definitely the way to go for me. I'll still do some of the lemon juice with cayenne. Although this is a MC forum thread, I'm still gonna dance with the ones that started this with me

Made the mistake of having yerba mate yesterday while working, and didn't get to sleep until 4:00a.m. No more of that! I can't believe I let the woman at the health food store talk me into that. More evidence to me to listen to my intuition.

This is definitely the way to go for me. I'll probably add a tablespoon or so of coconut oil too, cause I've heard that it's great as a supplement for those doing the 'juice feast' and more importantly for me, for the candida issue. Coconut contains capric/caprylic acid and lauric acid both proven to kill Candida while leaving healthy intestinal flora intact I'll still do some of the lemon juice with cayenne.
Although this is a MC forum thread, I'm still gonna dance with the ones that started this with me:D . I still want to go 40 days.

Starfire ... my turn to be emotional. I seem to be ultra-sensitive right now to what I perceive as negativity in others or what I *think/feel* is directed at me. :( Usually I can let things roll off my back or take them in stride.
I just had a chat with my hubby about please don't look back at any past behavior, it's not helpful in moving forward. I acknowledge(d) that I'm sensitive right now and may over re-act internally to things being said and I do not wish to be snapping out because of that. I told him to consider me either pregnant or PMS'ing (I'm post menopausal) and to be aware. Normally I would never think to tell someone to treat me with kid gloves.
Reminds me of years ago when I quit smoking. I had only smoked for 3 years, and still found it challenging to quit. I had expected some irritability ... what I did NOT expect was the sudden and often urge to cry!
Detoxing - what a wonderfully enlightening journey
Starborne - Yes I will admit it does feel good to be noticed. I think I was invisible to the majority for the last 15 years so it is just a little different now that I am being noticed. Not quite sure how to respond to different people as I am sometimes surprised and shocked and not used to getting hit on so to speak. Wow you look like you are 30. would have never thought anything otherwise! You look great hun - beautiful! I too am in this mastercleanse thread but am doing my own thing. So I guess we can do this together. Do you have any idea how long you are going to fast for? I know you will be back to where you want to be again soon - just a matter of time I am sure. Just keep your focus like you said and it will come!

Today is day 12 of my fast and I am at 134. Today we went to Target and then off to small group. I made a fabulous salad for the group that I didn't eat. I can’t wait until I am back to eating again. However, I think overall it is worth it as I am seeing my new body shape. I drank my grape celery juice and my stomach is killing me. I definitely will not be combining those 2 things again! Aloha and thanks starborne and Morn for the hugs and the encouragment. Yes I'm doing better today... drinking lots and lots of water along with the MC ... thinking it might flush this phase of the detox out faster -- lol!!
and starborne - I was SHOCKED when you posted that you were in your 50's...OMG.. you look like a kid! wowzers!!
I hope you're feelin better tooo!!! It's great to have this forum to come to where you understand how I'm feeling ... and to know I'm not the only one (not that I would wish this on any of you!!! LOL!! that's not what I meant...!!)
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/Snicker.gif ...teheeee.... !!
Morn.. I was wondering and thank you for sharing about your experience at work. It is interesting to me how people respond ... they are either very happy for you... and interested in how you did it... and amazed at the diligence and determination it takes to do what you did....
or unfortunately -- the jealousy and envy...
sometimes it's cuz they're used to be being the one that gets all the attention... or the 'prettiest one in the room'... then suddenly they're not any more and they can't deal with that...
the other reason... is - they want to beable to accomplish something for themselves - and they don't have the determination to do it... They're still using excuses... and you just proved - excuses don't matter... If you want it bad enough - if it's important enough to you... then you can DO ANYTHING... and that will make some people uncomfortable.
and frankly Morn.. I think the Lord in His wisdom puts you in peoples lives that need to see this example... a tangible example of what can be done when you set you mind and heart to it.
and then there's people like me -- who would sit and stare at your pictures and think...."she did it ... that means I CAN DO IT TOO!!".... it was inspiring to me.... exciting and powerful.. cuz you are a REAL person - not someone airbrushed on TV or in a magazine... you are real... know what I mean?
sorry to be rambling here...
anyway... starborne and Morn -- even though ya'll are doin your thing incorporated with the MC... I do hope you both continue to post here!

I can imagine that you feel like you're living a whole new life -- or someone else's. ;) It's got to shake you up a bit emotionally, like 'yeah, I like this' to other times feeling 'leave me alone!' to 'what do I do with all this?
[QUOTE=Morn;406384
Thank you. The avatar photo was taken when I was about 48. This last year I have felt so NOT myself in so many ways, not just in my weight. When I got married, I moved even further in the boonies. I love the mountainside country and my husband; and I need something more in my life besides him, work, and hiking. I've been floundering since that move. I used to belong to a community symphony band, bellydance, and belong to a drumming circle. I was just building friendships from a move 2.5 years ago from living in Florida for 26 years. Then I moved again!
My point to myself and others is ... it's not just about what you eat or don't eat, drink or don't drink, it's about finding that emotional and spiritual balance within. What happened (or didn't happen) in the last year to make me gain soooooooo much weight so quickly? Well, I wasn't expressing my creativity.
For me this fast is about cleansing all of the stuff within me to start anew.
Now the cool thing is, yesterday my husband and I went to a POW WOW for the heck of it that was just around the street. We ran into a woman I knew from drumming. She's now a member of an all-woman band called "Women of Heart", they do some Native American songs as well as folk singing. I've been asked to join the band as their drummer! Woo Hoo!!! :D

And girl, Morn isn't the only wonderful inspiration here. You've inspired ME to within the next year to sign up for the raw food chef/intructor teacher certification. I kinda figured that I would have had to be on the raw food lifestyle for years before I did that. Don't know where the money will come from to do that. Then again, I didn't know where the money would come from for ALOT of positive changes I've made in my life. It will come.

Well ladies, I just went shopping for more greens, etc. to juice. It seems I'm going to have to break this fast now for budgetary reasons. While the ingredients for the MC was affordable for me, it wasn't the right cleanse for my body. Juicing vegetables only for the remainder of the time is beyond my budget at this time. I just bought enough veges that would last me juicing for 1.5 days; if I ate them, it would last me about 4-5.
So ... I'm stepping off the dance floor.
The good news is, I've lost 11.5 pounds; broken some dietary bad habits; and I'm off and running to a new raw lifestyle of about 90-95% (I still will do hot teas and an occasional decaf organic coffee).
I'm trusting that this lifestyle will not only continue to detoxify me, it will help me to lose the remainder of the weight. Guess I'm just going to have to knuckle down and really start exercising more on a regular basis.
Good luck to everybody on this. I'll be seein' you around on the forum!
Hugs to all.

Well I am bummed that you will be leaving us but happy that you are on a great start to new good habits! I am also happy for you about the drumming opportunity. How cool is that - you will be able to channel your efforts and creativity again! I so know what you mean when things are absent from your life and when you are not totally fulfulled and happy, it is so easy to turn to food. I did that for my whole adult married life and felt like I had no life at all. I found that even though I loved being a mom and a wife it wasn't enough for me either. I lost myself in the process of it all and just now do I feel like I am getting a piece of myself back. Man a lot of this is complex huh! I found that you don't have to run to food for entertainment and to deal with stress, or emotions. Food was a huge idol in my life and it only kept me in bondage and unhappy and unfulfilled. I am not perfect at it all yet but I have tried really hard to overcome in this area. But hey congratulations on seeing the bigger picture. Fasting has a way of getting us in tune with truth and our inner selves. Stop in and say hi occasionally. I would love to hear how you are transitioning back to eating again.:)

Okay.. My big report for the day...
yes - I'm doing the MC... but today I had a DR's appointment - had a bone scan done and got injected with some radioactive alien goo that will probably make me glow in the dark...
dh was with me and he has to tell everyone I'm on a fast... he's feels the medical professionals should know EVERYTHING thats' going on in my life - I suppose that's good... but the reaction of the tech was hilarious...
he got really ... I'm not sure how to describe it ... he coped an attitude... looked me up and down and demanded to know WHY I'm on a fast. I was so shocked he asked such a personal question! So I said... "for spiritual and health reasons." and I guess I must've answered in a very "DON'T YOU QUESTION ME KINDA VOICE"... and he immediately backed down and said - "oh - okay... that's good, this won't bother your fast or make you sick - you'll just flush it out of your system faster because of all the liquids you're drinking."... then he looks at me and says..."umm, you are drinking liquids arent you - you're not like - starving yourself?"
so I said - Yes, I'm drinking about 128 ounces of a cleansing drink, plus another 32 ounces of purified water.
dh told me later that I shouldn't have gotten 'all huffy' with the poor guy! ... oops... didn't realize I got all huffy! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/blush-2.gif
THE OTHER and MOST IMPORTANT thing of all... I stayed on the fast... oh the arguments going on in my head.... I was thinkin of every excuse in the book to stop and eat.... (but I wasn't hungry - and I had 64 ounces of MC with me -- but gotta tell ya-- it was a test!
we did stop at my FAVORITE THAI restaurant... they have wonderful raw salads... omg.... we sat down.. and THANKFULLY.... My Spirit took over and I never even cracked the menu - just sat there and drank my tea -- but dh's lunch... smelled divine!!
but I was soooo HAPPY with myself! I am reaally reaaaally http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/hapydancsmil.gif happy with myself right now.... wow... that felt good... and I just had to share my accomplishment with you... even after having my body polluted with alien goo.... I'm still RAWk'n it with the fast...
whew.... I felt like that was a really close call... BUT --
God is good - and His Mercy endures FOREVER!!

Starfire, that's awesome! It's humbling at times to recognize when Spirit comes in to assist us, those times when we just KNOW our lower selves have been aided.
Yesterday I broke the fast with green soup, tomatoe-onion-green pepper salad, and some raw legumes (peanuts), and some sauerkraut for the probiotics. Didn't really think the peanuts were such a good idea, but I have had no adverse reaction. More salads and green soup for today.
On the Spirit guided thing for me yesterday. Dh and I came home from a get-together last night and I REALLY wanted the ONE beer that had been sitting in the refrigerator for days. Now I KNOW that's not a good thing to have breaking a fast NOR for candida. Well, I went to get it from the frig and it wasn't there!! DH had already beat me to it. hee hee. Oh yeah, I recognized I was being helped!
I recognize that in killing off the candida, various types of sugar cravings are going to kick in. Dairy, fruit, and alcohol. I also know -- this too shall pass.
So Spirit, keep on kickin' in for me!
I do miss already the simplicity of not eating. Well, at least preparing raw foods will be another form of a creative outlet for me.
Keep on keepin' on, ya'll.

Hi Starborne, Morn, Starfire, lanettasmouse and all others on this fast (and who are not) but who are readling the posts on this thread. I have been reading your posts for a couple days now and have ENJOYED it so much. Truly, you ALL are soooooo INSPIRING...Congradulations to you all for such fantastic success and results.....You ALL have done/ are doing sooo AMAZING...
I just thought i would come from behind the scenes and say hi:) I am in the begining of my fast (day 3). I will be doing the MC alone and my plan is to go for 40 days (listening to my body of course and the Lord in case I am told otherwise).. The last time I did the master cleanse I did it for about 20 days and felt AMAZING. I also lost 15 pounds. This time around I need to lose about 35 pounds (recognizing of course that not all of it will be released from the MC alone). But I will be 100% raw after the fast..... More important than the weightloss, I am looking forward to the spiritual and physical/emotional/ and mental healing journey that i am begining and so DESPERATELY NEED...
Morn: I felt like I was reading a page from one of my journals when you spoke of food being your idol for so long, etc...I am also a mom and wife and can relate soooo MUCH to all you said.... It's so inspiring to see someone who has made it to the other side (though I know you said that you are still learning/ achieving) but you have accomplished so much and have come so far. Congrats again.
StarFire: I LOVED your story about the doctor's office.... i can see myself reacting or responding very similarly...But you did WONDERFUL... Especially at the restaurant. I pray that I too can resist when i am in that situation.
Anyway, i don't want to write too much. Just wanted to say hi (again) and congrats (again) to all of you.:)

Thanks StarFire:) So Happy to be apart of this with you guys. Looking forward to all the wonderful benefits this cleanse provides:)
Today is day 14 of my fast and no further weightloss. I had to work 13 hours today so a long day. Consumed:
Greentea lemonade
MC limeaide - 1 liter
I am tired and just got home so I will be running off to bed cause I have to work again tomorrow early am. No exercise today but I was on my feet the whole time.
Starfire - I am proud of you hun! Good job resisting temptation and staying strong! We are cheering for you!:D By the way with all of your success what kind of responses from people are you experiencing?
Charika - welcome to the thread. I pray that God will bless you as you begin your journey to healing and fasting. I am so glad you get it. Sometimes I wonder how clear I am being when I am blogging. It is nice to know people understand where I am coming from and can relate.
Starborne - glad you are doing so well with your transition and happy to hear that the DH got there before you. I think that is one example of God's escapes that he provides away from temptations we don't need. You know how things disappear before we get to them or food falls on the floor or a restaurant runs out of a menu item we weren't supposed to have anyway. All examples of God's graciousness toward us.

Hey there fasting rawbies...
whew.. I really felt the flushing out of that alien goo they shot me full of at the hospital.
That stuff is soo bad ... I'm glad I'm on this cleanse to help flush it out of me quicker... I woke up to a rash on my left side along my ribs (the technician said if I have a reaction to it - it might show up as itchy skin or a rash or swelling...)
2 pimple like things on my left butt cheek  that i discovered while I was showering... sigh...
and my right eyeball is swollen!! yep... me so pretty!! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/Snicker.gif
I also have a really REALLY bad headache... and I believe this is all from the nuclear crap they shot in me...
it's not just from 'regular detox' cuz I've been going thru the 'normal stuff' and after a year I pretty well can tell what's detox and what's flu or whatever... but this... THIS thing that I've been going thru today... this is my body getting rid of that glow in the dark serum...
THANK GOD IM FASTING -- SERIOUSLY -- I'M SOOOO GLAD.. cuz ... gosh can you imagine if I wasn't.. this stuff would have to go thru it's process filtering thru my body - to eventually get flushed out ... and pray that none of it remains in my bones.. cuz that's where it lodged...(that was the whole purpose of the injection to lodge it into my bones...) accck.... I ache.. ah well.... this too shall pass...
Morn ... to answer your question -- like you - I've had various responses... one that I wrote about in a blog where one girl flipped out and screamed at me that I was getting too skinny .... ridiculous ... (that was a jealously rampage)... but other than that...
I've been pretty much a hermit... while I was heavy ... and drinking... (it's hard to stay inebriated while you're around people so -- I was doing a great job at being a hermit!) So for a few years - people saw me only rarely... and I was puffy and so toxic looking...
Now - I've been more visible (mostly cuz of work and having to speak at Communtiy meetings and such).... but the most interesting thing... Most of the responses I seem to be getting is...
people will just stare at me - like they can't quite believe what they see.... and then they will in a very quiet voice say...."Kika... you are looking really good... you really look good."
and it's not a 'you look "pretty" kind've good in their voice or their eyes... it's a --- 'you look so healthy - you look happy and vibrant' kinda look. In their face I see a look of happiness for me .. like they had been worried about me - but I didn't know it - and it's a look of relief and true joy that I'm okay now.
I like that. It makes me feel really good ... and it's nice to know that people had been concerned - but I just didn't realize it. And here I thought I had been 'hiding' my drinking problem... apparently - everyone knew but me!
I saw our attorney the other day -- and I hadn't seen him in two years. He's the one that helped us when we were going thru the battle for the business and I was 178 pounds and in such bad health and emotional turmoil... true depression...
He didn't even recognize me. We sat in the same restaurant - and he didn't know it was me - until he saw dh.... then he realized it was me... he came over to say hello ... and the look on his face was ... gosh... it's hard to describe... he just stared at me for the longest time -- it was almost like disbelief that it was actually me -- and said...'kika... you really look good...you're radiant...I'm so happy for you.'
that made me feel so wonderful.
I haven't been 'hit on by guys'... we live in a small community - and dh is a much loved and highly respected Member of this communtiy and does a lot of community service and work with the youth here.. so -- no one would dare 'go there' !!
and other than that crazy tourist lady that accosted me in the grocery store last year and told me that "It was women like me that ruined her vacation..." That one shocked the heck right outta me!! That was definitley a first for me!
But -- overall - people just being happy for me - that's been pretty much the reactions I've been getting.
and it's nice to know that all along people were concerned and cared... and I was just to deep - wallowing in my sorrows to realize it.
God is great... and His Mercy endures for ever....

Gosh, sorry to hear it's been a rough few days. Are you doing the SWF? Could that help things along even faster?
Starfire, it's wonderful to hear how great you've been doing and the fact that's it's noticed by others. Keep up the great work!

Thank you Morn for the welcome:) I do get it.. God has been dealing with me with the idolatry thing for a while now. And I am currently doing a weightloss biblestudy that is proving to be a true BLESSING for so many reasons. It's not easy, but the transformation (physical, mental, emotionally, and spiritually) that will happen will be well worth it....
StarFire: I'm so sorry also that you are going through a rough few days. Prayerfully, it will past quickly... I'm so glad that you are sticking it out and not giving up. I know that you are an experienced faster (at least with MC) and i also know that it is so true what you've said.....God is good...and his mercy endures forever. He is definitly giving you strenght to continue. You're doing so great....
Well today is day four for me. My stomach is hurting a lot today from the tea. I have not done the SWF yet- just tea morning and night. But the first three days I didn't have the stomach pains as much. I've also been going to the bathroom a lot- more than in the first 3 days also (but I know that's a good thing) and it's just part of the process. Anyway, i do have a question:
Does anyone know why my throat is hurting when i drink the lemonade? Is it the cayene pepper or the lemons? Should I use less pepper or lemons?? I don't remember experiencing this the last time I did the MC. But, I was just curiuos? Anyhoo, I hope everyone has a great day:)

Starfire! I'm so glad you're fasting too!!! I'm sorry you're having those aches and pains, but I know you know they're on they're way out. Yes! I know the feeling of having those intrusive drugs leaving the system. During my first master cleanse the most horrible mucus I've ever seen, flourescent yellow, green, black, brown gunky stuff came out of my chest and lungs in humungous proportions. For like an entire week, 24 hours a day. It was all that stuff they shot in me when I was under, including whatever they put in your lungs and shoot through your veins to keep you "breathing". What was even more interesting is I had not the slightest ach, pain or congestion experience from this stuff in my body prior to fasting. I had no clue it was even there. It was just sitting in my lungs, waiting for the day to cause real havoc.
Thank you for sharing how your friends and neighbors have responded to your glowing, good health and monumental achievements. It gave me chills...and I'm sure you're inspiring them to consider getting healthier themselves.
I am thinking about fasting again later this month...I was traveling and so want to give my body a chance to recover from all of that driving first. Once I clean out the fridge, I will be skipping to the store to get my lemons and other supplies. Master cleanse here I come...maybe it will be in time that I can join you. :)
I hope you feel better and thank you for sharing your shining light on this forum. :D

lanettasmouse... hope your pain eases up! and congrats on releasing those 14 pounds!! wow!! 31 days... so awesome!
RawHeaven... so glad you will be joining us soon! Several of us will still be fasting at the end of this month -- so I know I will be here! I loved reading your testimony. I also believe that the Lord led me to the Master Cleanse AND to this forum! RAWk on girl!!
charika... day four already!! things are going well except for the throat hurting... is it like sore throat kinda pain ... or burning kinda pain - like the cayenne or lemons are burning you? It could be detox ... but then again -- how much cayenne are you using? Make sure you're drinking just plain purified water too... !! I upped the cayenne in my MC this morning... and when I first drink it - my throat burns just slightly - but then it goes away... but I do notice that my lips are still burining though!! LOL!
starborne... No - I don't do the SWF... my body does not react well to it. I just swell up like the goodyear blimp and get constipated... I know I'm wierd!! lol!!! I am doing laxative teas and cascara sagrada... I'm having several bm's a day... and since I'm on day 9... I'm shocked as to where all the 'waste' is coming from!!! Good GAWD!!! HOW MUCH MORE CAN BE UP THERE!!! hheheheee!!! better out than in... (according to shrek!! and I tend to agree!!)
Okay .. here's my update... almost passed out last night... whew.... what an ordeal! I was feeling really 'funky' all day yesterday, just not quite right ... but couldn't pin point anything in particular. It kept getting worse and worse... so I decided to just go to bed. I woke up about 2:30am and had to go to the bathroom... and i went ... and I went.. and I went...
then...
I started to feel this burning sensation under my skin like ... moving thru my veins or something.... my head, my arms... and it was sooo odd... I got very light headed and started to sweat... I ended up lying down on the bathroom floor for about 20 minutes... but I needed water.... I felt like I was going to throw up ... I felt weak and light headed .. but I knew I need water... so I got up -- made it to the kitchen grabbed the water out of the fridge -- made it back to the bathroom... guzzled some really quick and laid back down... (I know -- I know I should've woken up dh ...but I wasn't thinking straight!)... I laid there for about another 10 minutes and I could still feel this burning sensation moving thru my body .. then it's like I could feel it just dump into my colon... and I HAD TO GO TO THE BATHROOM IMMEDIATELY...
after going ... I almost instantly felt better... it was as though my body just took a huge breath of relief....
I think that was the last of the alien goo... I woke up - rash has cleared up ...my eyeball is back to normal... and I'm happy to report... no zits on the ol butt cheeek!! teheeee!!! they just disappeared! weird huh?
and I can't tell you how much better I feel today http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/thexcited.gif ... thank GOD for fasting and cleansing....
glad that's outta me!! whew!!
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/thawwaherst.gif ... and howz everyone else doing today???

wow 31 days and 14 pounds that is great! Take it easy and I hope you feel better soon!
Today is day 15 of my fast and I am feeling decent. I lost one more pound today so I am down to 133 (which is about right since its been 3 days since I last lost anything). I worked earlier today and decided to get carry out pizza for the kids so I didn’t have to cook. I haven't been good with taking my laxative tea as it gives me stomach pains and I haven't eliminated anything in about 6 days. So tonight I will drink the tea. I just hope it doesn't keep me up all night with stomach pain. Consumed:
Greentea lemonade
MC limeaide – 1 glass
Young coconut water
Starfire - I am so glad to hear that all the goo has passed! What an experience you had!
Oh and thanks for sharing about your experiences with people. I think most people are genuinely happy for me too but what I seem to be getting a lot lately is more of the response of I am already thin enough and what more do I need to lose kinda thing - like soon there will be nothing left of you. My goal has never changed I want to be 130 and maintain it and I feel that is realistic and within my BMI. I think they just don't realize how much I weigh cause people ask me what do you want to be 115 pounds or something. Since I am tall I think I hide my weight well which is a good thing.:) I am embarrassed to really tell people how much I really weigh when they make comments like that. Anyways I am pretty happy with where I am right now but I know when I break this fast I will be up 5 pounds pretty quick. I gain 2 pounds over night just by eating salad and having food in my system so I really want to get to 125 so hopefully I can be at 130 in the end. Well those are my thoughts anyways but as slow as my body is releasing it will probably take me another 2 weeks to get there. How long are you fasting for?
charika
04-09-2008, 06:32 PM
StarFire: WOW! I'm SORRY and HAPPY at the same time for you.... So glad to hear that although it was a very discomforting and/ or painful that it released the last of that alien goo and that you awoke feeling much better..... Wow! The body is Amazing. And this cleanse is too.
Well, to answer your question, I am currently putting in 1/4 of a teaspoon of cayene in each 8 ounce cup of lemonade. The throat is a burning sensation. Not sure if it's the acid or the heat? Oh, and I drink spring water. Is that not ok?
crystal: I too am glad that you will be joining us soon. You are an inspiration to so many of us. I know that you just recently finished a 40 day master cleanse. And I know that you said that you may not do a MC for a while, but maybe a juice fast? But the fact that you are considering the MC again so soon after a 40 day cleanse is just that much more INSPIRING and MOTIVATING for me. It must have treated you real good..LOL.. You also look AMAZING! Congrats on the HUGE accomplishment. How long will this next MC be for you?
Ok, well I just finished cooking for the family...SAD meal at that...I was really praying to get through that. today- although it's just day 4- felt like a really hard day MENTALLY. thoughts were running through my head like "why are you fasting again? When you can just eat and enjoy a yummy raw meal" Or even worst, I caught myself thinking about some SAD old favorites of mine....and thinking that I miss the comfort and temporary satisfaction that I recieve from eating. Then at one point I felt the temptation to just eat, but then I remembered that the MC is a minimum of 10 days. Why would I quit now? Besides the fact that I really want to try for 30- 40 days....I know if I can just get through these next couple days, these cravings will probably past. We are stronger than we realize sometimes. Besides being physically sleepy/ tired today (my 3 year old was up throughout the night), I do feel just fine physically. So it is all emotional/ mental. I just had to remind myself why i am doing this fast/ cleanse. I've been praying that I will just stay focused and think about that which is more important than the way food taste, how it temporarily makes me feel, etc... these next few weeks of fasting is but a blink of time when I think of the rest of my life...Or just the rest of this year. I will have months and months of being able to eat...What's a month and half of denying myself and doing something so good and wonderful for my body.... So I haven't exercised yet. But I want to begin. haven't lost weight yet (don't think)...clothes still fit the same...but of course that's not the most important thing. Does anyone else exercise while on the MC? Cardio, weight training, etc... And is enemas really neccesary, helpful, or even a good idea while on this cleanse?
Thanks, Charika:)
Charika - congrats on talking your way through the temptation and overcoming! Yeah I so know what you mean and what you are going through. You are so right what is a month out of our lives - its like nothing! Just think about how many other things you can give your attention and focus to during this time. Fasting is actually very freeing as I am not spending time planning, shopping, preparing, eating, cleaning up after, etc. I have done this cleanse several times and I exercise during my fasts. However I don't weight train or do anything too strenuous as you need to remember that you body is detoxing and repairing itself and it is good to conserve your energy for detoxing.

Morn... it's just so encouraging to me when you share your progress... i just keep hearing in my head... "i can do this!! i can do this!!"... 133... that is sooo cool...
and as far as what people say.. I know you take it with a grain of salt... But it is so important Morn -- to ALWAYS remember... you are led by SPIRIT... you are really in touch with your body and after a year of ministering to your health... I would say you are pretty much an Expert in the Field of knowing what you need... what works for you... and what path to follow... Trust your intution -- just like you're doing... THAT's the MOST important thing.
the other thing I appreciate is when you share with us your knowledge as far as your experience goes... like the gaining of weight after coming off of the MC... it's good to know that this is to be expected... so we don't freak out and get all discouraged. It's good to know and be prepared as to what to expect!!
My goal ... and what is in my Spirit - is to do a 40 day MC cleanse. but I am going to pay close attention to my body -- see where it's at, and if I need to break the fast before then -- that's okay... but my heart's desire is to do 40 days. sigh ... Gosh I would love to do 40 days! I just dream about how much healing can take place in my spine in that amount of time and it really excites me... (and of course the weight loss is a perk!!) ;) but that is not my main focus of this fast... it's the healing that I am focusing on....
well... that and giving my body the best start possible into my second year RAW.... !
charika... Girl - I so hear you on the mental arguments!!! You did great staying strong and focused!! RAWk'n awesome... well done!!
Okay rawmacious fasting buddies... everyone have an excellent evening!!!

Yeah I am not going to let other people's ignorance get in the way of my goals. I feel great honestly! It is funny how everyone has an opinion about something they have never even tried. For me I feel like I have to keep my focus and put aside other people thoughts. Hey they don't see me naked right! I and my husband are the only ones who see that and plain and simple there is still more work to be done. I have been struggling with these last 10 pounds for the last 6 months - it is time to take some ground! Thanks!

I thought I was the only crazy person who went to raw food potlucks when I was fasting! Enjoy the company of the other people and bring a tray of fresh fruit. Can't go wrong with that! When I was fasting and went to one I cut up fresh pineapple, strawberries, grapes, etc. and they loved it!

thanks Starborne!!!! I'll be leaning HEAVILY on Him tomorrow!!!
and Morn... here's what I'm taking to the PotLuck....
Cheese ball with diced bell pepper and pineapple (and spices) and crusted with chopped almonds
served with flax crackers and onion bread
pesto stuffed mushrooms
Goddess chips
Pot of Chili (which is being added since I just found out over 30 people are attending ... so I gotta have something to fill everyone up!)
Spicy Chinese Chiken (SnowDrops recipe)
Dry stir asian style veggies
garlic sesame noodles
dessert - Date nut torte
Tropical donut holes
I'll be taking pics of everything...
I always take alot of food... cuz a lot of these people are new and have no idea what raw food is (other than salad or fruit) .... and I want to make sure there's enough food for everyone.
I keep reminding people though that its a POTLUCK..!!! POOOTLUCK.!!!! EVERYONE PITCH IN AND BRING SOMETHING!!! they'll catch on eventually Im sure!!
dh thought I wasn't going to attend since I am fasting ... but if I don't go -- everyone will starve!!
funny thing is ... the guest speaker only believes in RADICAL RAW... no EVOO, no fats of any kind, no agave, no spices, no salt, no nama shoyu, no braggs, No dates, (oooops - and here I am making the date nut torte!) no dates cuz its too much natural sugar....
so -- my menu COMPLETELY contradicts what this person preaches. I was NOT about to stress and strain to make a special menu to go along with this persons lecture... if they wanted 'their kind of food'... then THEY should fix it!!
this person ALSO does not agree with Alissa Cohen's teachings ... oh well.... I'm gunna watch her like a hawk to see if she eats anything!!! then I'm gunna snap a picture of her and blast it on the internet!!! hehehehehhe!!! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/laugh.gif ... JUST KIDDING!! JUST KIDDING!!!
Should be interesting to say the least!! :D

Starfire, I love your balance.
I read something you wrote in another thread (weight and menopause) and how your way of eating raw is for you. That it's so much better than the way you ate before you don't go to such extremes worrying whether something is 100% raw or not. Like honey ... etc.
I feel the same way. I'm going to drink organic decaf coffee with organic milk ... until I don't. I'm going to indulge in wine -- occasionally -- until I don't.
These items not on raw, will help me keep myself MORE on raw than if I didn't.
But that's me.
Now for updates in my transition from my fast.
I have had great BM's from day 1. Woo hoo! Was wondering about the peristalic action (sp?) from all the laxative tea.
I'm getting full from the raw food. Quite satisified. Just started in with avacados yesterday. I'm not going to weigh myself until Tuesday. I know I'll gain some weight, and I'm not going to stress about that.
Tomorrow I'll be starting more of a regular workout program with Bikram yoga (in my own heated bathroom), and CD of Jillian Michaels (terrorist trainer from Biggest Loser).
I made wheatberry crackers with flax seed and zuccinni hummus. Yummy.
Really looking forward to trying more recipes.
I got my package today from A Complaint Free World
http://www.acomplaintfreeworld.org/aboutus.html
Alongside eating raw ... I think this is one of the biggest challenges a person could do to change their life! I'm a self-proclaimed ambassador!
Starfire - Wow I wish you lived here and Michigan! I might break my fast just to taste all that wonderful raw food. Is it going to take you all day and night to make all of that? Anyway sounds incredible. I don't know how you can do all of that either and not be tasting any of it. Best wishes to you! I will pray for God's strength to be with you!:) Also love the fact that you don't care about going along with the speaker. I think most people would not be able to follow such strict rules about eating. I feel like I gave up enough when I went raw - wow she sounds like she is way too extreme for me!
Starborne - sounds like you are transitioning wonderfully! I have to say though that I am a bit jealous of your eating of all that delicious raw food without me! But soon enough I am sure!
Ok today I found a great new carry out restaurant by my health club and it serves fresh raw juices and salads! How awesome - I am excited!
Today is day 16 of my fast and I am feeling pretty good. I am still at 133. Had to work earlier today and then stopped at the gym on the way home. I was so psyched and proud of myself as I did a test for the first time to see if I could run an hour on the tread mill. I am happy to report that I ran 5.15 miles in 65 minutes (with a five minute warm up and a 5 minute cool down in the end). The treadmill would only let me set it for a maximum of 1 hour and it automatically gives you a 5 minute cool down in the end. So I am so happy that I could do it. I really had to mentally and physically push myself but I did it! I guess I am just excited because I really didn’t know what I could do but since I normally do a ˝ hour on the stairmaster and ˝ hour of running I figured if I cut out the stairmaster, I could just run the whole hour instead. I was right! Consumed:
Greentea lemonade
MC limeaide – 1 liter
Pineapple peach juice
Young coconut water
I feel so GREAT NOw after running!:D
Today is day 17 of my fast and I am feeling great. I also dropped another pound and I am down to 132. I worked out early in the day and did a yoga class. I thought that would be a good option as it would not be so strenuous on me while I am fasting. It was a great class and by the end I was pretty relaxed. I can see how yoga could totally help improve my flexibility. I however, could do with all the talking aspect of it. Tonight is the family fun festival at my kids school so we will be doing that later. Consumed:
16 oz of Carrot, orange, spinach, beet, and apple juice
Young coconut water
Todays exercise: 1 hour and 10 minutes
10 minutes on the stairmaster
60 minutes of fitness yoga

Morn, you are doing great. I want to start exercising. Hopefully tomorrow. Today I was soooo sleepy. But I didn't drink too much of the MC lemonade or water....maybe that is why...Plus i went to sleep very late last night and woke up very early...Anyway, Has anyone experienced losing 20 pounds, but still being the same size? According to the scale, I've lost 20 pounds in the last month, but I am still the same dress/ pants size??? And I have not lost any inches? Wierd...Maybe I'll also ask this question on the fitness forum or the raw discussion one....
Anyway, was this really only day 6 for me? I feel like I have been fasting for like 2 weeks..LOL... today was slightly harder than yesterday. But i am still a lot more focused than in previous attempts to do this fast...thank God...
StarFire: I'm sure you are very busy preparing all of those raw food yummys. I'm sure we all would LOVE to hear how it all went....
Starborne: Congratulations on remaining mostly raw after your fast. I know you don't need me to tell you (b/c you already know it), but you are doing WONDERFUL:)
Ok, I'm going to make me some lemonade and try to catch up some on all the drinks I did not have today. I may do some yoga tonight. I did do pilates yesterday. And hopefully I will be able to do some cardio tomorrow....
Have a great night all:)

hey everyone! good to see we are all doing well! its the end of day 33 for me and oh boy am i tired today. i am just plain wore out feeling, but we have been doing a lot of work this past week out at my fiances parents property to get our house ready to move into. we still have a ways to go until we can, but its coming along. i have a question about breaking this cleanse when i am ready, do you all think it would be ok to break the cleanse with watermelon juice instead of orange juice? i'm thinking that i'm going to do this cleanse until my birthday which is may 10th and then break it with watermelon juice on my birthday. don't get me wrong, i love fresh oj, but not as much as i LLLLLOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEEE watermelon and i just think that it would be a great birthday present to myself to be able to have that. i imagine it would be ok cause it is such a juicy fruit, but i just thought i'd ask you all and get your opinions on the idea. i plan to do probably another 2 weeks of just fruit juices after this cleanse to fully prepare my body for raw food cause i read somewhere that for every 4 days on the mc you need to do 1 day of just juices, so that would be another 2 weeks of just juices for me. so i do plan on doing some oj and grapefruit juices, as well as apple and probably strawberry, but i really want to have that watermelon juice on my bday! ok, sorry to get so long on you all, but let me know what you all think, i'm open to any suggestions and ideas. thanks everyone, you all are doing marvelous, keep it up!
lanettasmouse - I don't see why watermelon juice would be a problem. Go for it - especially since you will be doing fruit juicing for 2 weeks more anyways. IN actually I think it may be easier on your system than the orange juice. I have done the mastercleanse fast many times and I actually find that orange juice causes my stomach to ache so the last time I did it I think I came off the fast with cantelope/strawberry juice first and it was fine. I think because oranges are so acidic it caused my stomach some problems. But I think the reason oranges are used is because it gets the system ready to eat again.

Are you weight training? I know sometimes if you add muscle you can get bulky at first before you start losing those inches. Also what size are you and high tall are you? I just ask because I know that when I was an 18/20 the range of weight is much larger in the bigger sizes than when you get down in the smaller sizes. Like for instance 5-10 pounds could be the difference for me in fitting in a dress size and when I was larger the range was more like 20-25 between dress sizes. It might also have to do with your height though. I am pretty tall.

thank you so much for your response morn, i appreciate it. i think i will do that with the watermelon juice then. sorry to hear the oj was difficult for you in the past, but at least now you know that the oj doesn't sit well with you. thanks again, i can't wait to have that yummy watermelon juice!:D
Today is day 18 of my fast and I am feeling great. I am still at 132. I took my daughter to a party this morning and they served pizza and salad there. It smelled incredible but I persevered through it! Pizza used to be my old SAD favorite food. Later tonight we are going out to celebrate a birthday with a friend. It will be weird go out to a restaurant and everyone eating around me. I hate explaining that I am fasting to people and different people’s reactions and attitudes. Most people are fine but there are some that get that attitude like they can’t understand why I am doing it and get almost like an angry annoyed attitude. I think the general synopsis is most people concur that I have already lost enough weight. So generally I don’t like to go out when I am fasting. However, afterwards we are supposed to go to Sweet Janes and I can get a fresh raw juice there so I am excited. Consumed:
Greentea lemonade
Tomato, celery, cucumber, carrots, beet and parsley juice

aloha fasting RAWbie buddies!!! I'm baaaack!!! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/smiley_danceegyptian.gif .... I am thoroughly exhausted though!
the potluck was a success... about 30 people showed up and the food was fabulous ... or so they said!! lol!!
Lets see ... day 12 for me I think... yep - April 12th means day 12 of the fast....!! so far so good, although I've got a very mean mean headache today. I'm not sure if it's b/c I over did it the last couple of days or if it's detox... or maybe both. Yesterday -- I was a very VERY bad rawbie.... I was pushing so hard un~cooking - It was almost 3:00 in the afternoon before I realized I hadn't even finished my first MC drink of the day! ... no wonder I was feeling sooo horrid. So - I stopped, finished what I had in my jar - then fixed myself another 32 ounces and sat down for 30 minutes while I just drank my MC drink and breathed quietly for a moment. That was really helpful and helped me feel grounded again. Then I was able to get back into the swing of things and finish up all the rest of the stuff....
I won't post pics of the food here though... but I did have to share with you that everything went really well...
here's a pic of me explaining the food and some of the people that were there...

starfire you and your niece are absolutely amazingly beautiful! and congratulations on being able to make all that yummy raw food and not eat any of it, you rawk!
Starfire - I thought after the potluck we lost you! So glad you decided to hang tight. Congratulations on your success!
Well I persevered though dinner last night and got a strange look from the waitress but overall not too much grief from the others. THen we went to the raw juice bar and I got an orange, beet, carrot, apple, spinach juice and my friends got some after dinner drinks so it all worked out well.
I am feeling a little tired lately. Today is day 19 of my fast (and down another pound to 131) and I got my exercising done early in the morning. Was feeling a bit on the weaker side so I only did a 1/2 hour of rebounding and took it easier than I generally do. The rest of the day will be spent on housework and taxes! Not fun cause I owe so we waited til the last minute. Plus we are just so busy.
Well I hope you all have a super great day!

StarFire: Congradulations on the raw success. The little food that I saw on your niece's plate looked YUMMILICIOUS:)
Morn: I am about 5'4 and currently weigh about 174 pounds. I am a size 12. I need to lose about 30 more pounds and would love to go down to at least an 8, but preferably a 6. I do lift weights, also do yoga, pilates, kickboxing with weighted gloves (turbo Jam), resistance bands, stabilitly ball workouts, and some step aerobics(the firm). But i don't exercise consistently every week. Some weeks i'll workout like 4 or 5 times. Some weeks i won't workout at all:o Anyway, I'm sure if I stick with the MC, I'm bound to lose inches in addition to the pounds lost. At least I hope so:confused:
Well today is day 8 for me. And so far so good. I'm trying to at least get in the 6 cups minimum of the lemonade because i'm finding that it's really hard for me this time around to consume a whole lot of it. The last time I did this, I was drinking a whole gallon a day- plus water.
Morn: I forgot to add that my sister is graduating in May from her master's program and she wants to have a HUGE dinner celebration with family and her friends. I've been thinking about just going to the graduation but backing out of the dinner for the same reasons you noted that you don't like to go out to eat when fasting. But after reading your post, I'm definitly leaning towards just going and "dealing" with any awkward and uncomfortable feelings or stares/ questions...But i have to be honest, not looking forward to it..But I know I will survive..Thanks for the encouragement...:-)

I know what you mean about not wanting to drink a lot of lemonade. I think I burnt myself out from it so that is why I am doing that plus fruit/veggie juices.
Now will you still be on your fast in May?
I really feel like I needed to up my calorie consumption today so I think I consumed more than I usually do. I felt a bit weak as I was exercising which tells me my body probably needs more at least for today. Now I am feeling a bit better. Today's consumption:
Small glass of Tomato, celery, cucumber, carrots, beet & parsley juice
Large glass of apple, spinach, beet, and carrot juice
Young coconut water
Greentea lemonade

lavendarJ... you should do a PotLuck... it's wonderful watching people enjoy raw foods! It's very encouraging to my journey when I get this postive feedback!! so -- jump in girl!! Guaranteed - you'll have a blast!!
lanettasmouse... thank you! I appreciate your kind comments! My niece is an amazing and wonderful Spirit!! My other niece (her sister) is equally gorgeous and a very talented actress! I'll have to get her pic on here soon!
Morn... can't get rid of me that easy!!! LoL!! I've put to much time in to drop the journey now!! Although -- gotta tell ya - it's been a bit of a challenge! I've got the fixins for a wonderful salad left over from the PotLuck - mixed greens kale and so many other goodies -- (along with some onion bread and flax crackers!! I'm thinkin I might freeze those. I did freeze the left over chili though so I can enjoy that when I finally break this fast!!).... the thought wanders thru my head when I see the food -- but I just brush it back out.... but OH my goodness... the veggies just look so beautiful! I told dh he's gunna have to eat a salad tonight -- I just can't see all these veggies going to waste.... and HEY GIRL!!! CONGRATS on releasing more weight... that is wonderful... gives me hope!
charika... thanks for the encouragment!! I think you should go the family gathering... it might not be that awkward.... maybe just say you're doing a cleanse for health reasons.... it will be fine! Sounds like it will be a really big day for your Sister .. and it would be wonderful if you were there to support her!
okay fasting RAWbies... day 13 for me and I'm doing just fine.... enjoying my MC drink and feeling pretty strong. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!

thanks lavendarJ... I wish dh had gotten a picture of ALL the food along with some close ups... but oh well -- next time...
there will be another PotLuck on May 14th -- and thankfully - I plan on breakng my fast on the 11th! so I will have some time to begin incorporating some light things back into my diet -- I know most people start out with watered down orange juice -- I don't do that -- I'm concerned about natural sugar being the first thing I reintroduce back into my system - so I always start with young coconut water, eventually a bit of the young coconut meat and cucumbers... easy to digest -- easy on the tummy...
I think I'll take the pics at the next potluck though - cuz this is the second Potluck where he took pictures that I have not been happy with.
anywayz.....
I actually just popped back in to say that my dextox symptoms have been...
runny nose yesterday...
last night my tonsil area felt like I was being stabbed by something sharp. It wasnt' a 'sore throat' kinda feeling... and it didn't really hurt when I swallowed like a 'sore throat'...but I would feel this like 'jabbing sharp pain' when I swallowed --- very odd!
but this morning - it's gone - and my nose is running even more today than yesterday.... GET THOSE TOXINS OUTTA ME!! RAAAWk on DETOX!!

Ok, so I've been going to sleep really late the last couple nights and have to wake up SUPER early each morning. I know not wise when fasting. So i think i'll go to bed now. I've been soooo sleepy since noon today, but I have two toddlers...So taking a nap is NEVER possible...Ok, Good night all.:)
Hey just checking in to say hi. I need to work a very long day today so will be keeping busy. On Day 21 and the last few days have been difficult. I would like to keep going on the fast til I reach my goal but don't know if I can make it for the long haul til then. I have been feeling more tired and my body seems to be desiring of more calories so I have been consuming more so much to the degree that I actually think I gained a pound! It is either that or I got a false read on my scale the other day when I thought I lost a pound or I just gained a pound back. I also have not eliminated anything in at least 2 weeks. I have been drinking the laxative tea and nothing. I kinda also feel a bit light headed, tired, and having difficulty mentally focusing. I bought a enema to try but it is a saline one and not sure if that is ok or not.

Morn... whether you break the fast or not.. is it possible for you to get ahold of some FRESH coconut water? that will be very nourishing to your body - regardless of whether you decide to remain on the fast or not.
I'm concerned with you feeling light headed and the difficulty focusing... those are symptoms you really need to pay attention to (as I know you realize this...).... I'm just concerned sweetie...

Ok I am happy to report I finally had a large b.m. at work today and I didn't need the enema. But it was rough. I never pushed so hard to go and I strained so much that I started bleeding. Not cool because I just had hemmorid surgery back a few months ago and hopefully I didn't cause a new one to come or new problem. But anyway I was surprised at how much came out. I guess when you don't go for over 2 weeks thats what you get. But I do feel better now! I am tired cause I worked a real long day and just got home. I still need to juice my goods for tomorrow but I do feel a bit better after I had a quart of carrot, orange, beet, spinach and apple juice.
Starfire - I hear ya thanks for your concern - I will be taking it easier for the next few days, try to get more rest and cut back on the exercising. I have been drinking young coconut water about every other day. Does that count? Or do you mean regular coconut water?

young coconut water absolutely not only deeelicious ... but the most nutritious! You are such a wise rawbie!
Excellent... whew... now I feel so much better... I was very worried ... to go that long without a bm is not good... too many toxins building up in your system.
well.. day 15 for me... still feeling strong... not experiencing any hunger... I'm trying not to 'watch the calendar' though... I keep thinking -- wow! 15 days...cool!... only 9,598 left to go...sighhhh.. (ahahah! jes kidding) ... only 25 days left to go - but I had the passing thought today.. that if I have a whopping 25 days left... it's as though i haven't fasted at all.... it's like no time has passed http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/ongeduld.gif ... and Im in fasting twilight zone ....
then I realized how silly that was... I have already begun to experience benefits from this fast, and I got thru that HARD DETOX phase - and my lungs weren't burning this morning - and that was wonderful!
and I keep telling myself that 15 days is nothing to sneeze at... so .. I'm jes keepin on ~ keepin on!!...
everyone have a rawmacious evening!

I read your stories and struggles ladies - i would like to join starting Sunday i have tried before but was never sucessful. Why Sunday - i need to be ready with my fridge empty and herbal tea handy and salt and no temptations....from social activities.
How to start? What to be aware of. I need to go to work every day and would like to continue with light excercise. Can I?
Sounds like you have the timing figured out. Come and join us when you are ready. You should be able to continue to exercise. I have been exercising all along at least 4 days a week. I would definately keep it light though - nothing too intense. I generally don't do any weight lifting or anything during this time.:D

Welcome! I hope your fast goes well!:)
Starfire - THanks for your concern! Now I am off to consume that young coconut water!:D
Today is day 22 of my fast and I am at 131. I worked today and on the way home stopped at the water store and big lots. I decided to get the kids carry in pizza so I wouldn’t have to cook. The day started off a bit rough as I was pretty tired and lethargic but after I had my juice that I made I felt a lot better. A guy at work left a white castle hamburger on my desk with a sign that said “eat me” as a joke. Everyone around me is telling me to stop fasting as I don’t seem like myself right now and in their eyes am thin enough. I definitely can see a difference in my energy level and am moving slower at work. But overall I am still ok. Consumed:
Mango juice slushi
Carrot, beet, apple and spinach juice
Young coconut water

vivafree2... great to have you joining us... Morn is right - you sound like you are prepared and morn gave you some great advice on the excercise question... I look foward to being on this fast with you!
Mehandi... Welcome aboard... so glad you decided to jump in! I've been wanting to read that book for over a year now. It's on my 'Honey can I please get this list!'
Morn... wow! down to 131 - that is AWESOME! You have a good sense of humor... I probably would've hurled it at his head!!! (j/k! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/happy115.gif LOL!) Glad to hear you're doin okay though. My goodness that mango slushi sound HEAVENLY.... yummmmm!! and good girl drinking your coconut water. Have you ever done any research on that? it is AMAZING stuff... can even be used for transfusions when there is no blood available... how incredible is that?!!
bit of a funny note Morn... I think I had 'sympathy constipation' for yu!! ahahhaha!! so weird... that it happened when it did though - I had to chuckle!
okay... My detox update fasting bandits...
woke up with a raging headache... which quickly subsided after being up and moving around ... also -- I've been waking up and my hands are swollen, my joint ache... but as soon as Im up and go potty... swoosh -- the swelling is gone and the pain and stiffness in my joints is gone too...
and I definitley need to get some peppermint oil or something.. chew on a cinnamon stick... a chunk of ginger... or some mint springs... I can't brush my teeth as much as want to!! and I'm concerned about ... unpleasant breath!!! and I can't keep sitting at my desk with this paper bag over my head! lol!!!
can't wait for THIS phase to pass!!!

Thank you Star and Morn:)
I look forward to join you and stay as long as i can.
I have to eat all the salad from the fridge and buy extra load of salt - i use very little in everyday life. I have already laxative tea and a strategy.
I am not going to tell anyone at work about it or anyone else and for as long as i can i will be going to the gym - if that be too much than i will stop.
Sunday will be good day and until that i have only spinach and parsley and celery juice - and few apples - then my fridge will be cleaned!!! and after some days Vivafree hope to be cleaned as well ....inside out:):)
Today is day 23 of my fast. Someone at work asked me if I was still drinking that drink and I said I was still juice fasting. She said she could tell cause I was looking tired. Anyway I worked a long day today and on the way home I checked out a new store called plato’s closet. It is a resale shop for high end brands for teenagers. I ended up buying a pair of levi’s in a size 4. THey are really nice. Anyway I ended up working a lot later than I expected because of inventory this weekend and also being off on Monday I wanted to get a lot done. The weather was beautiful today but I didn’t get any chance to enjoy any of it. All I know was for the first time I wasn’t cold and wearing my winter jacket at work. I actually was comfortable wearing just a sweater. I think it was in the 70’s today and is supposed to be that tomorrow too. I can’t wait cause it is my day off! Consumed:
Greentea lemonade
Tomato, carrot, beet, cucumber, celery, parsley, & red pepper juice
Mango juice slushi
Starfire - ok love your graphics. You are too funny. Every morning I wake up and I brush my tongue. It is pretty gross isn't it.

vivafree2.... sounds like you really have you plan set... THAT my dear is awesome! It will really help you as you jump into this fast!
Okay lil fasting bandits... my detox update for Day 17....
my right eye has been watering ... my vision also seems a little blurry in my right eye too... how odd!!! Little bit red - but it seems to be clearing up as the day has gone on.
woke up with a nagging headache... but that has alleviated
I passed some very unusual stuff... yew... I don't know if it was along the lines of mucoid plaque or what - but it was not like the normal bm's that I have been having during this fast.
interesting thing that this happened after my mini and short lived bout with constipation.... it was as though I could feel something along the left side of my colon (above my ovaries) there was some discomfort and it felt like some kind of mass in there ... later in evening -- out it came... better out than in! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/shrek.gif
I passed a couple of other smaller things since last night too...
I just find it sooo interesting where all this stuff is coming from! I haven't eaten anything in 17 days... no roughage - not even the pulp from the lemons...so what the heck?? http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/1422.gif
did you know that Elvis presely had over 20 pounds of impacted stuff in his colon when he died?? can you imagine THAT??? wow....
yew!
okay... I'm headed home after a long day at work... everyone have a rawmacious evening!!

Hey guys! I haven't posted in like two days I think. I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing well... Except for the tiredness and detox...but that's to be expected and the detox is a good thing...though I know it doesn't "FEEL" good....
vivafree2 and mehandi: I'm also glad you will be joining us. We need all the inspiration and encouragement we can get:) And I hope we can be of great support and encouragement for you too as you begin your journey.
Morn and StarFire: I'm also interested in that mucoid plague stuff. So far all I pass is mostly liquid, but I hear that's normal with the MC.
StarFire: Do you think it's ok to chew on the cinnamon sticks? I've been debating, but I definitly want to get the peppermint oil....I think I definitly need it by now:D
Well today is day 13 for me and WHERE ARE MY DETOX SYMPTOMS?...LOL...So far not much detox...only very mild... and i have been at the same weight for like the last 3 days I think:confused:
Anyway, yesterday was a little hard. The smell of the cooked food in my house was.....well I won't even get into it....I can't wait for the day when my family will be RAW, but until then I have to cook....:( Oh well...Thank GOD I have the strenght to do so this time around...
Ok, well let me go and begin my day. Need to make my drink and hope to also get some exercise time in too. talk to you guys later.

hey everyone! sorry i haven't posted in a while, been real busy. today is day 40 for me and it is also my last day. i planned on going longer, but i think my body is telling me its time to end. i can't stop thinking about food for the past 4 or so days. whenever this happened before it went away after a day, so i'm taking this as a sign that its time to end. i would have liked to continue longer, but its my time. i do paln on doing another short one around the end of june though cause i will be going down to florida for a few weeks the end of may so when i get back i'm going to do probably 14 or so days, which will be a piece of cake after going 40 days. my fiance is bringing home a watermelon for me tonight so i can get it in the fridge for in the morning. i plan to just cut it up and throw it in the vitamix to make a juice. then i'm going to go grocery shopping for some other juicy fruits and veggies. wish me luck! hope everyone is doing well and i'll keep checking in now and then. one other thing i would like to add is that i know that i shouldn't be feeling bad for ending this cause i feel it is what my body is telling me to do, but i do feel bad. i should be proud of myself for going 40 days on my first ever cleanse, but for some reason i can't help but feel kind of upset with myself. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks everyone, you all have been more than great and i can't thank you enough! i look forward to rejoining in another 2 months.
lanettasmouse! Yahoo for you! I am so proud of you! Please be proud of your accomplishment too! This was a huge thing you just did!:) I wish I could go 40 days! The longest I went was 31 so really be proud that is so awesome. Please check in with us and let us know how you are transitioning, etc.!
Oh and enjoy your watermelon. I just bought one myself for when I end my fast! (which I think is going to be the end of next week)!
Starfire - I am not sure what mucoid plaque is but my last bm was very strange! It was like a big blob exited out of me all at once (it was very hard to pass) and it wasn't formed like my normal bm's so maybe it was that. Also it was a pretty healthy size blob.
I guess I need to do more research on this to figure out what you are talking about. Anyway I am glad you finally got it out. And I agree better out than in!
Today is day 24 of my fast and I am still at 131. I worked out at the gym earlier today and then went shopping and went to the Levi’s store and bought my first pair of Levi’s in a size 2. I couldn’t believe I squeezed myself into a size 2 (they are tight but comfortable). I am pretty estatic (even if it is only temporary!) After that I went to the fruit market and got more produce for next week as I was getting low on a few things. Consumed:
Carrot, apple, orange, beet & greens juice
Mango juice slushie
Water
Today’s exercise: 1 ˝ hours
30 minutes of running on the treadmill – over 2 miles
1 hour of fitness yoga

charika.... I think it's okay to chew on a cinnamon stick - just don't swallow any of it. Cinnamon is very cleansing anywayz -- so it would only help rather than hinder... but the amount is sooo small it won't make any signifant difference I'm sure!
but just in case the cinnamon doesn't work .... I brought you one of my bags!!!

CONGRATULATIONS !!! ... and ... good for you for following your wisdom and knowing when you need to break the fast... Well done lil rawbie!!! Make sure you check in with us - let us know how the transition is going!
Morn... A size 2!! OMG!! that is sooooo amazing!! there is nothing on my body a size 2!!!! well... maybe my pinky finger!! ahahhahhaa!!!! I'm so happy for you! My goodness... does it still blow you away when you are shopping and can buy all these cute clothes... and have so many wonderful choices... ??? I think that's one thing I'm looking forward to -- being able to finally buy a pair of levis ... and feel like I look okay in them - I rarely wear levis... mostly skirts because of that fact! and I've haven't worn shorts in YEARS!! Have you gotten yourself any cute shorts? The last pair of shorts I bought was a size 16 - it was for a boating trip -- and I had to have 'something' to wear... oh my gosh -- I was so unhappy (remember I'm only 5'2"!)!! We were going whale watching - and I felt like the whale....

Hey everyone, can a juice faster join in;) ?
Well today is day 1 of my juice fast. I just started a new job at a coffee shop and they make lots of food as well, so it should be interesting to be fasting and making food all day. Well I don't work again till Tuesday so I thought today would be a good day to start fasting and hopefully *crosses fingers* the horrible bad breath detox part will be done by tuesday or at least going away. I get the worst detox breath, lol. Also tuesday will be day 5 and I'll be pretty invested in my fast and not eat thier food.
Anyways so far today has been ok, I spent most of the afternoon sleeping after my short work shift. I am starting to feel pretty run down, but thats good cuz it feels like detox. So today I am gonna lay around cuz I don't have energy for anything else.
Drinks:
*Juiced one whole pineapple and then made it into a slushy with ice and drank throughout the day
*Will have a cantaloupe later today
*Strawberry tea

I totally think it could have been that. I surprised though that it came out with just doing fruit and veggie juices and the MC lemonade. Does it say that can happen when you master cleanse?
Anyway as far as shorts no I don't have a lot of those (just a few I wear for exercising around the house but nothing nice). I never liked the way my legs looked before now (as they were too fat) and even still - I would have to wear longer shorts as I have that nasty cellulite behind my legs which is still a problem spot as well as my lower stomach that I am trying to get rid of. But this year I think I will buy a few pair to wear. Hopefully I can find a few that look decent. Short shopping is almost as bad as bathing suit shopping. But my bathing suits have the little skirt so it works.
I just got home from Victoria Secret though and bought a really awesome workout outfit that looks incredible on me. I can't wait to actually wear it to the gym. I usually wear mismatched outfits and big t-shirts (nothing really nice) so this will be a switch. I will actually be styling. Wish I could buy more but it was really darn expensive. So I will wait til the semi annual sale when some of it will go on clearance.

Well long term goal is 40 days. I've done some small fasts but I'd like to do a long cleaning. At the same time I am trying to be very "this moment" about it so I don't overwhelm myself. Thanks for asking:)
I know you've done some long fasts, got any tips?

Morn... Yes... mucoid plaque can be released just using fruit and veggie juices and the MC. The makers of the 'special cleansing kits' however would say different I'm sure! They do want you to purchase their product... but YES absolutley --
so -- do we get to see a pic of you in that work out suit?!!! How cute!! someday Morn - I'll be getting cute work out suits too... I'm still in the baggy sweats and oversized sweatshirt stage - ahahhaha!! I looove VS... but DANG they are sooo expensive!
firicia... welcome to the group!! that pineapple slushy sounds sooooo amazing!! yummmmm!!!!
day... 19!!! It's very strange thing.. The last time I did a 21 day MC fast... by day 17 I felt weak and faint and short of breath and like I was unable to function.... as I approached day 21 -- I knew without a shadow of a doubt i ABSOLUTELY needed to break the fast... this time around however... with each day that passes... although I may have moments where detox is making mw go thru the hoops.... and I may have moments of physical weakness... OVERALL... day by day -- I'm getting stronger... and stronger... and more 'alive'....
it's hard to describe -- but I can say that this fast so far has been completely different from any other fast I've been on so far. Detox has been more intense (those off and on moments)... more frequent... and yet - I'm getting STRONGER everyday.
I like that! Something truly wonderful is going on inside my body -- I can tell!!! Day 40 still seems like a looooooooong ways away... but then again -- so did day 19 at one point!! ;)
dh and I attended a dinner party with some friends last night. They asked what was going on and I simply said -- "oh - just doing my yearly cleanse!" and left it at that.... no one pushed for any more information so that was nice... gotta tell ya though.... it is a very strange thing to be in a room full of people and watch them getting progressively sloshed... wow... !!
hope everyone is doing fabulous!!!

so dh looked at me and said.....
'honey -- if you only go 20 days or 21 days.... and you need to break your fast.. then you break your fast... and I will STILL get you your rebounder okay? I am so proud of you for what you are doing ... you deserve your rebounder! So -- You're gettin it! "

Starfire - so cool about the rebounder. What kind are you going to get. Check ebay if you are getting a Needak as it is much cheaper to order there than direct. Oh yeah and VS is expensive. It was a special treat as my hubby won some extra money playing poker and gave me $100.00 to spend. So I decided to get a few things there with it. If I find someone to take a pic I will post it here for you all. I did take some pics in the new levi jeans I bought and I also dressed up like a cheerleader for him last night cause he was gauking at the pistons cheerleaders when we went to the game. So I thought ok well I know what to do to get HIS attention. He was extremely happy last night! :D
Today is day 25 of my fast and I am hovering between 131 and 130. My digital scale bounces between the two so I won’t count it as 130 yet. Today was a day of errands, shopping and getting stuff done. I feel good however, I had my monthly visitor today unexpectedly. Consumed:
Carrot, apple, orange, beet & spinach juice
Greentea lemonade
Young coconut water

Hi everyone! Good to hear that everyone is doing well.
Lanettasmouse: congratulations on making it 40 days. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I too would love to hear how the transitioning goes.
I'm considering doing the watermelon or young cocunut water too instead of the orange/ grapefruit/ apple juice??? Not sure yet? Maybe I can do all of the above???
Morn: Although you are still at 131, it sounds like you are losing inches? Do you take and keep track of your measurements? WOW, a size 2. Despite what the scale says, you have done sooooooo FANTASTIC and have come such a long way. Congrats girl. That cellulite is stubborn isn't it? I'm a size 12/ 10 and I always assumed that even if I get to a size 8/6 that it should be all gone with regular exercise and I would look like something out of a mag:D I guess it's not that simple- especially after kids, huh? Well i guess i would still be estatic if I were a small size and looked great in my clothes, while still needing to tone tone tone.....Wow, we do have to work hard, but I know it pays off. And you must FEEL amazing....
Firicia: Welcome. So glad you can join us. I know I don't just speak for myself when I say the more the merrier. The energy, support, encouragement, etc...that we provide for eachother is wonderful... And it's so nice to know there are others on the same or similar journeys we are on at the same time....
StarFire: Thanks for the info regarding the cinnamon sticks. What do you do if you are in the presence of people and are chewing on a stick and then have to spit it out?:p My hubby was in the healthfood store and asked if I wanted an herbal peppermint spray or these natural tea breath drops, but since I was unsure I said No?? do you think that's ok? Oh, and he said that the people who work there told him that the peppermint oil should only be used externally and not internally??? That really confused me. How do you use it? If you know?
Ok, well this is day 15 and the last two days were really hard. And I wasn't sure if i should post this because i didn't want to contribute any neggative energy to the board- forgive me in advance. Still fasting/ cleansing, but the cravings were soooo intense. i could smell food everywhere I went. And it was soooo tempting. So much that i almost considered breaking my fast. I kept thinking thoughts and feelings like "i miss food so much. Or I miss eating." Or "I just want to eat already". Three nights in a row I had a NIGHTMARE that i broke my fast and went straight to SAD/ cooked food. It was one of those dreams that you wake up and are so thankful it was not real though it felt real. I remember feeling sooooooo incredibly bad. To think all the awesome work i had done and now not only had I broke my fast prematurely but I'm eating garbage:( Oh, and I read a thread on another board here that you could die if you don't break a long fast properly? She said that even eating an apple can kill you if you eat too soon after the fast?? I remember thinking in the dream and wondering if I was gonna die because I had a "S.A.D." burger or something like it...LOL...
But, I definitly do not want to break my fast prematurely and break it for THE WRONG REASONS. And I definitly don't want to eat SAD after. All raw for me please....But, I really am not hungry. As you know the MC drink really does take away hunger. And I feel fine physically. I neglected prayer for two days so that could be a cause...Prayer really strenghtens me. Oh, and Crystal (raw haven, i think is her screen name) once said that cravings are a sign of detox?? I remember reading that she was craving meat intensely, yet she had been a vegetarian for many years and knew it was her body detoxing from the meat she had eaten many years ago. So maybe it is also a form of detox? I have had to think of some raw yummy favorites like alissa's spanish rice, better than beef, or the onion bread just to encourage myself of what I will get to eat when the time comes. But these sad/ cooked cravings are horrible. Especially when you have what you're craving most in the fridge (because of my non- raw family). Anyway, sorry to make this such a long story.
I caught a cold yesterday and I have been FREEZING COLD for days especially in the evening hours. I will put on a long john top, a robe, and a sweater and I am still COLD. My arms feel like ice. And I will sleep in all that plus sweatpants and socks..lol... the tea doesn't help. Maybe I'll take a hot/ warm bath tonight. I look at my family and keep asking my son if he's cold and does he want a long sleeved shirt or socks because I can't believe they are walking around with short sleeve shirts and bare foot. meanwhile, my hubby thinks I'm the coo-coo one. He keeps telling me that it is not that cold in the house, but I'm sorry, I just don't buy it:D
Today is day 26 of my fast and I am still hovering between 131 and 130. I guess I haven’t made a lot of progress this week as far as weight loss goes but I guess with the fact that I just got my monthly this could explain a few things. At least I am not up like I generally am. Today was church earlier and then I stopped and got more young coconuts and a box of nectarines for $2.00 that I will juice up later this week. Next I am off to small group where they will be barbequing burgers on the grill. I do miss barbequed burgers – I have to admit but then I have to remind myself it is a small price to pay for the way I look and feel now.
Charika - don't apologize for the long note. We really enjoy reading what everyone is going through. I can so identify with the mental aspects you are going through and the feeling cold thing. I take a hot bath every night and for 3 days straight I worked with my winter jacket on in the building all day long cause I was so cold. I also have been sitting by the fire still to try to get warm and it is April and nice out. The reason is that our metabolism has slowed down so much. I guess I need to take my measurements - I haven't done that for a few months - I am sure I have made some progress there. Oh and yeah the multiple pregnancy thing really does play havoc on our bodies - mine will never be the same again but I will keep at it. It is a ton of work trying to get fit but exercise really does help. After my fast I need to add in more weights which will help. I don't desire to be perfect just healthy and comfortable in my own skin. :D

I am going to start out with mostly water/MC - and then on May 1st I am going to start receiving my CSA (community supported agriculture box)...
I am praying about how much to share here...
I REALLY desperately need a clean start. I know that fasting first with water/master cleanser won't be the easiest, but it's what I have available right NOW. And, I need to begin or I will NEVER begin.
I want to give my body a chance to rest and recover from all of the gunk I have placed in it. I want to give it a chance to release 40+ pounds...
I have some concerns about hunger, irritability, etc. I also have concerns about loose skin and saggy stuff : ).... but I have to trust in my body's ability to heal well, no?
Just curious... would you who are experienced with juice fasting looking at this webpage and see if you think that the amount of produce in one of these boxes would be a pretty good amount for a week of fasting? And THEN with some small supplementing of sprouts, nuts, etc might be enough for the raw lifestyle? I am going to grow a garden too, but that won't be available for consumption until much later...
the webpage is www.delvinfarms.com
You are all HUGE inspirations to me!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!!

Welcome swishTN:) I know I speak for all of us when I say that we are glad you will be joining us. The more the merrier. The good thing about the MC lemonade is that it really does take away the hunger. Whenever I feel hungry, I'll drink it and the hunger is gone. The real battle is mental/ emotional. But, most days I feel GREAT. It does take a lot of prayer for me and the ability/ reminder to STAY focused on what's most important and why I am doing this cleanse in the first place despite any neggative emotions or uncomfortable detox symptoms. The results later will be so well worth it. I didn't really experience any saggy skin the last time I did this cleanse and lost weight, but maybe it also depends on how much you have to lose? Not sure if Morn might have anything to share about this. But, if you can exercise will doing this cleanse I know that will help. A lot of us still exercise while on the MC and surprisingly I have A LOT of energy to get me through my workout. Welcome again and I look forward to hearing more about your journey:)

Thanks Morn for sharing. It's nice to know I am not alone:) Well, since i posted my update earlier, i think I'll get ready to get some rest. have a good night all:)
SwishTN- Can't totally tell how big the box is but it sure looks like it holds a heck of a lot of produce to me so yeah you should be fine with fasting and eating raw on that. On average for the first 20 days I was consuming about a liter a day of lemonade or juice and that was tiding me over just fine. Like Charika says if you are doing the MC lemonade you won't be hungry at all. Just really head hunger after the first 2 days.
You should be fine while fasting. I would recommend that you do light exercise if you are concerned about sagging skin. But you would be surprised at how resilient our bodies actually are. But generally the slower you lose weight the better and generally as far as "keeping your weightloss off" this holds true as well. Remember that if you lose a bunch of weight while fasting you will gain some of it back once you start eating (even if it is with raw foods). But it really depends upon how much you need to lose and how close you are to your ideal body weight. I did tons of fasts in the past and successfully kept the majority of my weightloss off everytime. I really never had a problem until I got down to my last 10 pounds that I needed to lose. My body tends to gravitate to the 140's after a fast and I want to be 130 so for me it has been a struggle. How long do you plan on fasting?

Hi All!
Thank you for the greetings : )....
I would LOVE to go 40 days, yet I am looking at it in 3 days at a time increments...
Because I am pretty sure that I will have access to this produce (that has been one of my biggest deterrents with becoming raw, not having the money for the RIGHT kind of food - and especially organic which is what I really want to do), I may even keep going through a longer juice feast... I'll just watch and see what happens : )...
Well, if I gain some back, oh well : )... I do want to keep exercising... I don't want to be left with a lot of sag and bag, but I guess I just have to trust that it will work itself out...
Now, are you saying that your fasting has been a positive thing for you physically, or negative?
Thank you all for your input!
See you tomorrow! And, I'll be keeping you in my prayers ; )...

StarFire: Thanks for the info regarding the cinnamon sticks. What do you do if you are in the presence of people and are chewing on a stick and then have to spit it out?
My hubby was in the healthfood store and asked if I wanted an herbal peppermint spray or these natural tea breath drops, but since I was unsure I said No?? do you think that's ok? Oh, and he said that the people who work there told him that the peppermint oil should only be used externally and not internally??? That really confused me. How do you use it? If you know?
Oh, and I read a thread on another board here that you could die if you don't break a long fast properly? She said that even eating an apple can kill you if you eat too soon after the fast??
charika.... Actually - I don't chew on any cinnamon sticks -- I read that on another post... where someone suggested it. So I was just passing it along.
I wondered about the peppermint oil too -- that was another suggestion I read..... but my understanding is that it is for external use only. There MUST be a different kind of peppermint oil. Like the kind you would cook with to season stuff like candy or somthing?
If you are that concerned about your breath - I would go ahead and use the peppermint spray your husband found...
now... about the breaking of a fast properly... YES -- it is EXTREMELY important to break a fast properly ... but will it kill you if you don't -- HARDLY.. you might get a tummy ache, you might get constipated... but kill you -- I highly doubt it!
back in 1984 I went on a 40 day water fast for spiritual reasons... I knew nothing about fasting only that the Lord was calling me to fast for 40 days ... so I did. I broke that fast with a mega sized double beef and cheese burrito with sourcreme and all the trimmings, a supersized Coke and an extra large order of fries.... Yes... I did... and... I didn't even get a tummy ache... I got a bit constipated... but that's all... and btw -- that was only lunch - I went home and ate a huge plate of spaghetti and meatballs for dinner!!! (with garlic bread - and I must've eaten a half a loaf all by myself! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/blush_mini.gif) I wouldn't recommend that ... but it certainly didn't kill me... !!! ;) heheheheee!
SwishTN... I think you're going to do great on your fast! You sound like you are ready to make some major changes in your life and you are determined to see this through! That's excellent -- and we are here for you - every step of the way! RAWk on!! so glad you're joining us!
for me... fasting has been a very postive part of my journey. It helps me in so many ways. I like to do fasts throughout the year to honor my body by giving my body a rest from the daily task of digestion -- and allow my body to concentrate on taking care of other things - like healing. It helps me maintain and stay cleansed of any toxins that I may have allowed in... and... it helps me mentally to stay focused and to really appreciate healthy food choices, to appreciate every bite and to celebrate the amazing flavors of raw vibrant foods.
cru... Aloha and Welcome!! glad to have you jumping in!! wow.... you've already done a 40 day fast!! that is soooo cool! and I love the way you worded that.... i'm looking forward to a clean house again!! that's great!! Its wonderful having you join us!! You're approaching this with a lot of wisdom... you're gunna do great!!
It's sooo cool that we have new peeps jumpin in here!! Keeps the energy moving ... new and fresh!!
Day 20 for me.... so far so good... Still not hungry - and feeling better and better! This coming Thursday -- I'm teaching a raw foods class... here we go again!!! But this time I can call one of the students to come up and help me do the tasting!!! Should be interesting!!
Hope everyone has a RAWmacious day tomorrow!! RAWk on fasting bandits!!!

It is my first day today of Spring cleaning:):). Saturday and Sunday i had fruits only and very light parsley green smoothie. Sunday afternoon i had lemonade only ( it is hot out there so it is almost natural) and herbal tea with senes - my morning today was splendid! I feel light!
i decided to decorate my washroom - since i visit this place frequently....!!!

Oh yeah ! It's day 1 and I am grateful that I feel ready having the time to focus mentally. I spent the last 3 days preparing and though I am moving slow this morning that is partly due to finally relaxing for so many days in a row after months of hard work.
I love spring cleaning - a fresh start and that is what this is. I will go as long as I can but have to plan when I know I have a a day off so since I don't have many that will help!
Tried the SWF but gagged the times I did on my last fast so I am onto the SM tea ! Made my lemonade, taking some psyllium etc etc.
I also spent the weekend away from people for the most part. I find if I tell people what I am embarking upon I often set myself up for failure...??? I am sure their is a story I need to release on that one. This board is different though as I gain total nonjudgmental support.
It's great to have the ones who have been doing for weeks and then a few new ones.
Happy cleansing to all. I'll probably need to check in later to make it through the first few days. Feeling good so far!

Today is day 27 of my fast and I am still at 131 but feeling well. Since it seems my body is being stubborn, I will be wrapping up my fasting at the end of this week after I take my picture on Friday which means I will have completed a month which was my initial goal that I had in mind. Today was my day off cause the kids were off from school so I had a hookey day of shopping and trying to get ready for Friday’s picture and figuring out what to wear. I have decided to get a professional picture done of me since I haven’t done one in years. I really wanted to do the whole family but it will take some time to coordinate that one.
Ocenee - Welcome to the thread. I know what you mean about the SWF. I gag too. Can't seem to get it down so I do the laxative tea too. Best wishes on your fast!:D

Thank you StarFire for the info. Wow! you had ALL that after your fast. And now you are doing Sooooo amazing with raw. How long did it take you to really get over your cravings for cooked/ sad food and gain the discipline and self control to STAY raw? Just curious. I too know that the Lord is helping me through this fast and that he's called me to it. Definitlty couldn't do it without him:)
Morn: will you be posting that picture here? I'd love to see it:) Will you be returning to raw food eating after friday? Since you are already doing juices, can you just start eating once you break your fast friday? WOW! One month.... That's awesome.
vivafree2,
oceanee, and
cru: welcome and congrats on completing your first day. So glad to have you join us:)
Well today is....what day is this? LOL.... Oh yeah, day 16:D And so far so good. After my extremely long update yesterday I really don't have a lot to report. It's amazing that I really am not hungry (and I only had 4 cups of the lemonade today so far and it's evening here). Sometimes I can't believe it's been two weeks since I've eaten. It doesn't feel that long since I've been without food. Well, I did some pilates this morning and I'll do some cardio tomorrow. I spent most of this day out with the kids and I am exhausted. So have a great night all....

Yes i will be returning to raw foods slowly.

My day 2 is going well.
No major cleaning occured today.
I am light and calm - but somehow weak - i did few things yesterday due to ... time i suddenly have. Nothing to buy nothing to prepare, nothing to eat - Morn i truly admire your stamina and strenght and discipline and motivation - wow - i have to only think about myself and you are working and taking care of your family...!!!
I had my tea yesterday, salt today and i am thirsty - love my lemonade. Salt is also good because makes me drink more - i rarely feel thirsty. I think i retain water but that is Ok - it is only water....it will go away quickly.

Ahh getting closer to being through those first few days. Nights are tough for me as that is when I have gravitated to comforting myself with food in the past...after a long day....it could just be a huger than life salad BUT now it is time to reflect and be conscious in choosing. That is why i am so excited to come through this fast having my inner clock reset. Having the taste buds explode at the simple pure taste of just one bite of fresh veggie or fruit. To not feel like there is something else to satisfy when you are able to zero in right away and then stop .Know what I mean?
Tanglewood- Glad to be on day 2 with you!
Cru-I'm with you on starting anew - wow on the 40 day prior fast. Are you trying to do that again or just seeing what you body tells you it wants?
Charikra & Morn & Starfire - Please keep inspiring !!!
Have a great day everyone!

Welcome tanglewood:) So glad to have you join in on all the fun here:) This journey is not always easy but it is definitly liberating and very interesting (to say the least).
Well day 17 here and I think I am finally starting to experience some detox symptoms, other than the coldness, tiredness, and headache in the past, I am now experiencing what feels like a cold. My nose is running non stop and sneezing. And I think I also passed a little mucoid plague. Normally, when I go it is mostly liquid, but today it was more solid and ropy looking. And it also felt like I was slight constipated and had to push some which is new. That was never the case before- the liquid would just easily come flowing out. But thankfully, it was nothing too big and scary looking:D Ok, I think I will go make my drink and prepare to exercise.
Have a great day all:)

Ok - so.....day two and I didn't mention yesterday ( and it wasn't happening when I wrote first thing this AM) but now that it is occurring again I shall...
The bottom right side of my lip is itchy....weird????? Detoxing ?????? I keep scraping my teeth to itch the area!
Tanglewood - keep the stories going, I made it 15 days before but I am hoping to go farther and seeing what happens ahead helps, though I realize we are all different.

Despite of uncontrollable growling in the stomach - i am Ok - no cravings like in the past fasts attampts.
I love the lemonade and going to the washroom is OK - no cramps.
Detox reached different levels - my nose is like tap and i cough.
I am not able to go to the gym today but would love to try tomorrow - some streching and perhaps yoga postures, crunches, squats
Dry brushing should be fun too.

Vivafree2... I looove that... Spring cleaning -- inside AND out! btw.. I love the idea of decorating my bathroom!!! I've been spending a lot of time in there too!! I think I'll spiff mine up too!! :D
oceanee... I hear you on keeping your journey private! I do the same thing when I first go on a fast... (actually as much as possible while I'm on a fast) I keep to myself -- and only go out or attend functions if I absolutley have to. I dunno... I just feel 'safer' somehow... protected kwim? To me fasting is a personal journey ... and I don't want to 'explain it to everyone' that I meet! Just my weird quirky'ness!!!
Morn... How exciting!!! I can't wait to see the pics done by the professional! They will be stunning I'm sure! (you can take one of you in the cheerleading outfit for your hubby!! I'm sure he'll loooooove that!!!) that was sooo cute that you did that btw!!! ;)
It's an interesting thing to me about this weight loss deal. I haven't been releasing a whole lot of weight either. I did release a lot of puffiness and toxins when I first started fasting - but then my body just tapered off and I'm releasing I'd say about 2 pounds every to 4 days or so. Last week I think I only dropped not quite 2 pounds. In almost 7 days....? yowza! I can't figure out how a person can go without eating and not drop any weight... very strange...
charika... well... I transitioned to raw April 1, 2007. One year ago. Over all -- I do exceptionally well with my raw LIFEstyle... but you know -- I spent over 51 years eating SAD... so ... occasionally I will still crave something cooked... an old favorite here and there... I'm not sure if it's the flavor memories ... or the mental memoires but either way... they are still there ... and I think that's quite normal. They are few and far between but occassionally... the thought will waft thru my brain.
You are doing great!! 2 weeks down and moving onward to week three... it does go pretty fast once you get into it... strange isn't it?
tanglewood... great to have you joining us! Lots of support here... yu'll do just fine!! RAWk on!!
Okay lil fasting buddies... I'm on day 22... doing great... My energy level is strong, and the fast is going really great so far! Weight isn't dropping off like I'd hoped though... but I am passing quite a bit of toxins out of my system -- so that is REALLY great. I was complaining to dh this morning about it and he said "honey... you're not losing weight - but the inches are dropping. You're losing inches cuz you're getting rid of sludge in your system... you're cleansing your cells and THAT is more important than what the scale says.... and besides... You're looking GREAT!"
awwwwww... how sweeet!

StarFire: Isn't it said that when you fast your metabolism shuts down and your body goes into starvation mode and trys to hold on to the fat for as long as possible? Well I know this to be true when you are only eating one or two large meals and not small and frequent meals. But i too thought that if you are completely going without food- especially for a long period day in and out, that you will lose a lot of weight and quickly?? I guess every body is different. But I'm sure it will happen for us. I know that the more you have to lose the easier it is to lose weight. But of course if you don't have alot to lose and are very close to your goal weight it's probably more difficult. StarFire you look great. do you have a lot more to lose? i thought you were already at your goal weight..heehee... Your transformation pics are BEAUTIFUL:)

oceanee... thank you for your sweet comments about dh's art... he really is very gifted as a glass blower and he is also a Master Potter. He is an amazing artist! but like most people that have a talent in an area... Like say a plumber.... usually has the worst plumbing on the block!! yep -- that's me... dh is always saying... don't worry about it -I will make you a whole set of dishes!! dont' buy that -I can make it... 16 years and Im still waiting!! heheheheee... would you believe... all my dishes are from the salvation army cuz he REFUSES buy any dishes cuz he can make them??? sigh.... I SWEAR!!!http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/laugh.gif!!
charika... Thank you for your sweet comments -- but No... unfortunately - I haven't reached my goal weight yet! I gained some weight the last few months and I'm working at getting that back off ... plus - I really swelled up from the medication after the auto accident... so ... little by little... I'll get there!!! But like Morn was explaining... she will try to lose a little more than she needs cuz she knows she'll gain at least 4 to 5 pounds once she starts eating again - which would put her right at her goal weight. So - I was kinda shooting for that too... but ... mostly right now -- I'm trying to 'get back on track'... and get the toxins out of my body from the medication I was on. That's actually my primary focus... then the raw foods will take care of the rest and I will continue to release what I need to and find my body's true weight... which will be nice. I know where I'd like to be ... but I dunno if I can or will get down to that weight.
I'm barley 5'2" and I feel really good at 110.... but -- we'll see... I think at 51 my body may settle for a more 'mature' weight of 115 or 120 (i hope not!!) but we'll see.... I totally believe that my body will find it's true weight and just stay there though -- so that's cool!
and yeah... hubby is okay...! ;)

Today is day 28 of my fast and today I completed 4 weeks of fasting. I am getting nervous about eating again and worried about how I am going to maintain my weight loss after I get off my fast as I really like the way I look right now and want to stay this way. I also am worried that I will lose control when I eat again. Anyway worked a 12 hour day today and am tired. Consumed:
Apple, carrot, beet, spinach juice
Green tea lemonade
Young coconut water
Starfire - I hear you it is really strange about the lack of weightloss. But things must be shifting for me to squeeze into a size 2 so I think I have definately lost more inches. So with that being said I am breaking my fast Friday night cause I can't wait another month to lose another 5 pounds. I think my body went into starvation mode and is holding unto every calorie so it doesn't lose anymore weight. I am extremely happy with the way I look - I just won't be 5 pounds below my goal so I am bummed about that but hey it is what it is. I am at the bottom of my BMI for my height and 5 pounds more would put me below my BMI and I don't want to be too thin or anorexic looking. I actually like having a figure and as it is my butt is getting way to flat and small. I just don't think the fasting thing is helping me achieve any further weightloss at this time. So for me it is really about just finishing out a month of fasting just to say I completed a month. Maybe I can get there next time.:) I am thrilled with where I am right now though!

Thank you for that! I learn a lot reading your story and posts and admire the changes you made!

Charika - keep strong - again I admire the stamina
Tanglewood and Oceanee - lets make them proud! We can do it too....
I am a little shaky and weak, salt water was absolutely dreadful today but the cleaning was wonderfull so it was something for something. Can not imagine doing excercise - walk to work and back is all i can do so far. Sleeping is my favourite pastime now.... Hope for the energy shift. I lost some inches - not measured self yet but the pants are loose and face less puffy.
All the best to all

Good Morning to all dear "cleansers",
I am definitely moving slow this AM - is so beautiful where I live right now that I just love every minute of day light yet staying in my bed with the windows open hearing the red shouldered hawk sing along with the other little birdies is so much fun.yet I am at work which is a lovely spot too.
Since I gag with the SWF I am doing the SM tea 2x's a day. It doesn't seem to have the same "umph" shall we say as the tea? Myabe I need to try it. I read that unless you have the correct salt to water ratio it doesn't work. I think in the past maybe I didn't have enough salt so I was agonizing drinking iot down to not much of a reaction?
Morn:-You have had quite a journey haven't you. A size 2 , and all the determination, hard work and it sounds like you have learned so much about yourself. I can imagine it must be hard feeling apprehension about eating again after such a wonderful long juice fast. Perhaps with all the exercising your body needs more food in order loose weight? Don't forget you have gained muscle, your MBI is perfect and it is soon to be summer when our bodies seem to be more able to process everything as we are able to be outdoors so much more. You are inspirational and I love reading your story as I hope to be you - way in the future . Though not a size 2 as I am 5'9" !
Vivafree:-I am feeling that tiredness too but isn't it nice and peaceful? I am kind of enjoying it! Oh- I had something else to say but now I am in space-land....
Starfire:-Just like the cobbler's children having no shoes...love the salvation army plate story ! That's often the way isn't it.
Well, since I am getting spacer by the minute I better start running around and getting some work accomplished !
Great cleansing to all today! Can't wait to check in and see how my "fellow" first few day fasters are. ( I hope I don't get that itchy lip thing again today - slightly annoying and I doubt people enjoying watching me scratch my lip with my teeth! ).

Morn: Will you be posting during your transition time? I think we will all miss you:) I know it's not always easy, but if we can apply the self discipline and control that we practiced while fasting, we should be able to do so and continue when we return to food (at least I hope so). I know we will be ok. And you have lot's of experience with raw and have come a long way. i know you will be ok. I will def keep you in prayer as the time is coming fast to begin eating again.
Congradulations to all of you. You guys are doing so wonderful. I'm so happy that we can share this experience :)
well today was a good day. I feel like I am finally gaining more control over my thoughts. And I can prepare food for the children and hubby and it doesn't feel as tempting or hard- though some of it still looks and smells good:o BUT, I am so THANKFUL for the opportunity to fast/cleanse and for this journey I'm on. I know that it is already paying off in so many wonderful ways. As I've said before these few weeks of fasting is but a blink of time compared to the days, weeks, and months I'll get to enjoy raw food later. I can definitly afford to spare a month or so of giving my body a break and reaping the benefits that come with fasting. And as starFire said, I know I will appreciate raw food that much more when I do start eating again.
So I hope everyone had a great day or is having a great day. I know we are all in different time zones. Ok, let me go put my little ones to bed now:)

I totally believe that my body will find it's true weight and just stay there though -- so that's cool!
and yeah... hubby is okay...! ;)
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/sun.gif
Some people maintain their weightloss after a long fast and some even continue to lose weight after returning to 100% raw. They say their metabolisms are better then before the fast and their bodies just burn everything they eat like mad burning machines. I guess we're all different. nevertheless, i hope this will be me:)
Today is day 30 of my fast and still the same (no surprise to me). I worked earlier today and then after work went to and appointment and came home and made dinner for the kids. I am exhausted and still need to squeeze in some exercising and juicing for tomorrow. Consumed:
Mango slushie
Young coconut water
Apple, orange, beet, spinach and carrot juice
Charika - Yeah I will be popping in to see how you all are doing and to let you know about my transition.
oceanee - thanks for the kind note. Yeah I am am 5'6" and really am fine with being a size 4 too. It was just cool that I got into a size 2 but I am not obsessed with having to stay there. You being 5'9" I would expect not!
Vivafree - thanks for the kind note. You all have been my inspiration. We all need one another don't we? I hope you get your energy back soon!

Vivafree2... I know what you mean about the exercise!! omgoodness!!! Morn is amazing!!! I would pass out with any exertion!! (but then again - I'm a whimp!) lol!! ;) hope you have felt better as the day has gone on. Are yu still feeling a bit shaky? Drink more MC... it really does help. Oh -- you know what I have done a time or two when I started to feel that way? I upped my maple syrup by about 1 teaspoon or so... It seemed to balance me out a bit and I felt stronger... maybe give it a try if you still feel a bit woozy.
oceanee... gosh -- maybe that was my problem too... maybe I didn't have the correct ratio of salt and water. Cuz the SWF did absolutley NOTHING for me -- except taste awful and give me a tummy ache!!! Thank goodness for SM tea I say!!
charika... EXCELLENT!!! it's a wonderful step to be gaining control of those thoughts....thats more than half the battle right there!!! RAWk on! Sounds like it's going really great! whOoOotwHooOot!! and YEAH!!! I WANNA BE A BURNIN MACHINE TOOOO!!! burn baby burn.... !!! heheheheee!!!

Oh my goodness these past few days my energy has been zippo! I would love to be home just chillin' but work goes on. I am welcoming this , and it is partly due to my last many months of 12 hour days along with the mc. I find it hard working like I do to get in enough lemonade so I am working on that.
I already feel so much better. Let the reset begin !
Glad everyone is doing so well. Thanks for being there,

Hello peeps - sorry I'v been a bit quiet but I've been really busy looking after my mum and havn't had much chance to get to use the computer.
Glad all is going well and energy levels are improving - my energy isn't too bad but I now know doing a major weights workout is really not a good idea  I can hardly walk I ache so much, its normal to have a bit of muscle ache after working them but I've never had anything like this before!!
I'm defo going to stick to walking & more gentle excercise from now on.
I'm really amazed and inspired after reading how Morn has managed 30 days! I don't know if I'll make it that long but I'm going to keep going while I can.
I havn't got sick of the lemonade yet but I must confess I havn't been doing the SWF because I just havn't had time in the mornings and I'm a little worried about doing it when I have to go out incase I get caught short and can't find a loo :o I guess once it works and flushes through for the first time I'll have an idea of how long and what to expect so I can prepare and make sure I don't have to go anywhere untill its done!!
big smiles to you all :)

Today I worked and then had a dental appointment for cleaning after work. Tonight Lost is finally back on so I am looking forward to that. I need to figure out what I am wearing for pictures tomorrow still. Overall I am excited about eating again tomorrow night but kind of sad in a strange way. I think it is because I am just nervous to start eating again and gaining weight back. I will start with a garden salad and go from there. Consumed:
Lemonade greentea
Apple, beet, kale, carrot, and nectarine juice
Young coconut water
Starfire - I don't know if I will get proofs tomorrow or what but I will let you all know as soon as I know. Best wishes for a successful class!

Good Morning Everyone !
I have some energy back - yeah! Sleeping great, know I have released weight, water and more in the past few days. No more itchy lip .
I seem to go back and forth between feeling very peaceful and then having feelings of slight aggression(very slight but it is there). Then last night as I got involved in work financial stuff I began to feel anxious and wanted desperately to eat. It was obviously ALL emotional and I did not give in to that trigger. That I will fight for a long time I image since I have given into it so much in my life.
Can't wait to hear how everyone is doing~happy day all!
Morn~Keep us posted and enjoy eating!

Hello all! If i could have one of the emoticons from Star it would be a jumping up and down and grining from ear to ear chubby thing!!!
Jump jump - i am lighter!
I am doing great today - first two days where rather brutal - i have energy - not abundance but i do OK, normal i would say. I am paceful - and yes - oceanee - i have spells of absolute lack of patience, aggression? eh? i didn't snap but irritability is there under the skin - so i run from situations i could show that. Just pangs - i am very paceful inside and my senses are enhanced. There are pluses and minuses of that.
Sleeping well - less hours, bing refreshed in the morning and lighter! is a pure joy! Extremely happy about that! Finally some progress in this department!!!
I am less puffy - will weight myself Sunday!
And Star ....how you can see and smell all this food and not eat it - you are a champion! Gee - seeing commercials on tv makes me salivate....Extremely strong will and determination - you need special award for that!!!
... i had 20 minutes power walk during lunch hour - gee - i did have power...
the rage mixes with energy - not sure what it is - like sudden wave ... anyway have a great weekend everyone - i will post again Monday
Love
Today I had my photo shoot at Glamour shots and it took me all day. It was a lot of fun to do and it will be a landmark photo of me being at my goal weight. I didn't make it to 5 pounds below but at least I got down to where I want to be. Now HOW to maintain it will be another story. But I will be doing my best as I like being right where I am. Tonight I will be going out to dinner and breaking my fast. I am looking forward to eating again but scared too. It has been a great month of fasting and I have been pretty happy living on the limited calories that I have been consuming. Sometimes I wish I could just never have to eat again. But then again I love food to much that what got me in trouble in the first place! Consumed:
Lemonade greentea
Mango slushie
Oceanee - good job resisting that temptation to eat. It is funny how when we are stressed we need to find new ways to cope that are healthier than eating. I think fasting helps with that as it forces us to channel our energies and emotions elsewhere.
Everyone - Best wishes on your fasting. I hope you all are successful in reaching your goals. I will check in here to say hi!

Vivafree - Whew...I feel so calm and mellow, peaceful within and then I take something wayyyyyyyyyy too personally. I suspect there is a bit of a shift going on. And I am proud of myself as I stopped a reaction that was just falling into a waste of time energy. I am working on letting things just role . It's hard sometimes. Thanks for the feedback. It's helpful to hear others and their methods.

I've been having internet troubles all day ... this is the first time I've been able to get online with out the computer crashing!!!
I am happy to report that last nights class went really well!! Super dooper infact! Even if I couldn't taste anything... my students helped me out by tasting and telling me if I should add this or that... and they had lots of fun... AND.... it was cool cuz it kinda made the whole experience more personal for them!!
Morn... I am soo excited to see those pics!! How cool!! I've never had glamor shots done - your hubby is going to be quite pleased I'm sure!

oceanee... you're doin great.... it can be a roller coaster at times... but sounds to me like you've got a real handle on it... RAWk on lil fasting rawbie... and good luck this weekend!!!
everyone is doing so great.... I'm on day 25... feeling strong and ready to face the second part of my journey here. I'm going to do an experiment of sorts ... I'm going to start taking coconut oil starting Sunday to see how my body reacts.
The one thing I've noticed is that my skin feels so dry --- actually - not the skin on my face - I haven't noticed any dryness there... but on my body. I've noticed that - for instance... the skin on my legs feel sooo dry and leathery.... so -- since it was a question on another thread - I thought - why not... I might as well give it a try!! I love an experiment :D !!
Everyone have an awesome day tomorrow... RAWk on... and see you tomorrow!!

Hey guys -
Well my dinner out was great. I ended up eating a salad out with avacado and mango's on top with tomato and a glass of merlot. I also had half of a R.P. brownie I had frozen in my freezer from a long time ago. I was really afraid to weigh myself this morning but to my surprise I was still 131. I was completely surprised and shocked since I generally gain 2 pounds overnight. I think it may of had something to do with my monthly visitor leaving. But anyway I am happy.:D It gives me a bit of hope that if I keep up with my exercising and watch what I am eating and the quantity (which will be the struggle) maybe I can maintain this weight.
This morning I went for a run outside and after I got back I ended up juicing some oranges and had a orange, banana, lime, young coconut and strawberry smoothie. It was the bomb! .
It will take 7-10 days to get my pictures back from the studio but until then I figured I would let you see a quick snap shot I let my husband take of me about a week ago. You might remember me telling you about our cheerleading night!;) It was a surprise for him since he was gauking at the Piston cheerleaders - I figured if you can't beat um join um. Well anyway it was fun. I thought it was a good idea to help keep HIS attention at home! Not a great pic but here it is!

well today is day 26... and a very odd thing is going on.... well - first lemme say -- detox is gentle, steady and easy to handle right now.
no headaches...
some runny nose etc... bit of congestion in my throat
um... lets see what else... still passing stuff out of my bowels (and not having to use SM tea!) ... but bascially detox is easy right now.
but what IS happening is -- I'm literally gagging on the MC drink!
I normally LOOOVE that drink - but the last two days -- I'm having to force myself to drink it... and I'm literally choking it down...
very strange... I normally have like four 32 ounce bottles of the drink... the last two days -- Ive only been able to handle two 32 ounce bottles - and I'm having to FORCE myself to finish that....
I tried adjusting the formula ... a little less lemons.. a little more cayenne... a change of the amount of maple syrup... and I'm still having difficulty getting it down... so - I'm substituting plain water so I can at least still get some fluids in me. I dunno rawbies...
I'm not hungry at all -- so I know it's not my body saying it needs to break the fast -- I'm feeling stronger and stronger every day... so I guess I'll just keep on keepin on...
I'll keep ya'll posted....!!

Morn,
You look like you're 20 years old!! Congratulations on your accomplishments and thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration to us all! Sometimes I can't even imagine myself thin - but you are proof that it is possible!! Can't wait to see your Glam photo's!!:D
I will be 39 next month! Almost double that age but thanks for the compliment! Keep at it - eventually with time and dedication you will get there. I won't lie though when I tell you it is work but keep your eyes on the goal and before you know it You too will be there.:) I was 230 when I started raw and my highest weight before raw was 240. So it seems you and I were both over 200 when we started! So if I can do it so can you!:)
Starfire and Oceanee - thanks - I had fun it! Just goes to show you what raw can do!
Oceanee - Hope you ended up getting some sleep last night.
Starfire - That happened to me last July where I just didn't want to drink the MC lemonade anymore. I think it was I just got sick and tired of it. And because I wore myself out of the lemonade it is hard for me to do more than the 10 days on it and even then I think I can only drink about a liter a day of it. Perhaps you should move over to fruit and veggie juices and young coconut water for a few days and then go back to it. Or if just water is working that is cool too. But that is what I did last July I think I did 21 days of the MC lemonade, a few days of fruit/veggie juices and then back to the MC lemonade to finish out my 31 days. Just a thought - but take it for what it is worth.
StarFire

thanks for the suggestion Morn... maybe I'll switch it up and add in some young coconut water as I cannot do the fruits...
its so strange cuz I'm basically feeling better and better each day so this was an unexpected twist!! lol!
oh - today I start back on my coconut oil -- (my experiment) to see if my skin feels softer and happier.... AND... to see if I my weight fluctuates at all. for me -- cococnut oil equals slow steady weight loss ... so - I'll keep you posted. I'm hoping it will start my body moving again on the weight loss front....since I seem to be stalled out abit here.
Morn I think you said you were losing an average of a pound or so every couple of days? ?? or something like that? so I keep reminding myself of that... I almost hate to talk about the weight issue - cuz REALLY this isn't just about weight for me -- but I'm seriously trying to get all the poisons out that they pumped into me while I was in the hospital -- and during all those x-rays etc... but I'd be lying if I said the weight loss wasn't a perk to all of this!!!
But like Morn said too -- keeping it off will be the challenge now... !!
okay - I'm feelin good this morning -- dealing with some body pain in my neck and back - but that's from the accident not detox...
my nose is 'itchy'... kinda tickles wanna sneeze sort've feeling... and it feels like it's gunna start running any second kinda feeling - but so far nothing!
woke up with a slight headache - but that might be stemming from my neck - I'm not sure yet...
but other than those symptoms, I feel strong - clear and quite happy. I'm starting the morning out with just plain water... I stared at that lemon this morning and well... shuddered http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/shakehead-2.gif !! HEHEHHEHEEE!!! soooo water it is!
everyone have a RAWk'n AWESOME DAY!!!

I am only on my day 8 Star! Only 8... - so far it is like i am actually in charge .... not my stomach or mind , but it is a battle and it will be. Meat and coffe was easy, bread and potatoes not so, sugar was substituted by fruits and dates and agave but rest is work in progress - or will be sometimes in June.... So far I am doing well. I will be on water mostly today as the teeth are sensitive from lemons....tongue white, head achy but pants loose and my face less chubby - that is my force! My Spirit is high and heart singing..."is wonderful, is marvelous"...
Love you all, hugs and thoughts!
Starfire - If you can't do fruits do veggie juices. I made a drink that was sort of like a V-8 a few times (tomato, celery, cucumber, carrot, beet, spinach). Also yeah for the most part I lost a pound a day the first week, then it slowed down to a pound every 2-3 days and then the last week and a half nothing at all but I also got my monthly so I don't know if that affected anything. I think it also might have to do with how close you are to your ideal body weight. In 30 days I lost 14 pounds and I have to admit there wasn't much left of me to lose except for a little behind my legs and extra skin I have in my lower stomach (which I can't do much about). For me the fast was about getting my eating back under control as I was consuming too much and losing a few pounds. I think it is funny that people who are fasting for weight loss can't admit it (almost like if it isn't for cleansing we shouldn't be fasting or something). I got that vibe from a few other people on a different thread (on another site) and I reminded them of my point that we all have different goals and such. And by the way extra weight (fat) on the body is stored toxins. So anyway my point is I appreciate you and others who are "real" about their goals and aren't afraid to admit they would like to lose weight while fasting.
On another note two days past my fast I am up those 2 pounds I expected to see after my eating the first night. I guess it just took a day and a half to see it. I am ok with it but will watch and monitor it closely.
Well peeps best wishes for a great fasting day for you all! Remember this is temporary so enjoy this time away from food. Fasting truely is a blessing!

Okay so could have been day 8 , slight detour yesterday:o and now Day 1. Yikes. I spent all morning being mad at myself and then was reminded not to view as failure but to focus on that I am back drinking the lemonade and that I am working to release toxins as a continual goal .
Therefore, I shift my focus.
Really love how the mc makes you feel, even when detoxing. It seems to be the continual fight of past years yet I am determined to win and shall someday be a raw poster girl like MORN!:D It will happen!~
Star~I admire how you are taking complete control and mending yourself on the purest level since your accident.

Hi Everyone. I haven't been able to post or really get online in the last several days. Just been very busy. As I am reading your posts I was feeling a little left out because i haven't been around:o But you all are doing so well. I am so happy to hear how great everyone is doing....
Oceanee: I have been there in the past. And yes it is very tempting to not beat yourself up, but CONGRATS on being able to change your focus and get back up. In the past when that happened to me, I just quit and gave up:( Not good. But you are doing great....
Morn: I know this is a little late, but just wanted to say that I LOVED your pic too- VERY cute. And as everyone already said you are truly an inspiration. I agree with you also on what you shared about the fasting for weightloss reasons... As I see it, being overweight is not healthy. So if you are fasting to lose weight, then you are fasting to be healthy (in addition to of course wanting to look good...heehee...) But wanting to FEEL good too.... When i look at myself overweight, I just see someone who is unhealthy physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually. And all the excess weight is just a reminder for me as to how much neglect and abuse I've allowed to my body. So if weightloss is your initial motive (as it was for me) for this cleanse/ fast, I too think that's fine. Whatever will get us on a healthier, cleansing/ healing path/ journey.
Vivafree2: You're doing WONDERFUL! Have you tried drinking the lemonade thru a straw? I hear that helps with the teeth sensitive thing?
rawmom2006: Welcome. So happy to have you on board. I love the fact that we have fasters here just starting, somewhere in the middle, and at the end....It's GREAT.... So inspirational and motivating....
StarFire: Lastly, girl, I am right there with you. Don't know if you're still there today?...
But boy has it been hard for me to get the lemonade down. Since I started I've been trying to drink at least 6 cups a day. When I did this cleanse last year I was able to drink a gallon a day for 21 days. Today is day 23 for me and the other day I could only drink 3 cups. But i realized today after reading a post from an experienced MC faster, that the reason I have been CRANKY and tired lately is because I haven't been drinking enough of the lemonade and so I am not getting enough nutrients. So instead of enjoying the drink as i normally do, I've just been trying to drink it fast. Thankfully, it doesn't make me gag or anything.... And actually sometimes it doesn't taste bad at all...thank God...
Oh, and I've been a little queesy lately too. But i have been able to exercise lately which is good. I'm trying to drink more water. Oh, and the craving issue...well it's on and off. Just when I think I am finally gaining more control over my thoughts and I'm "getting used to" not eating, I start craving food again- particularly SAD, but I think it is detox too. And I just have to continue to remind myself of what's more important than the way food taste and how it makes me feel....I have goals sooooo much more important than the cravings.... So so far so good. Oh, the other day I cooked dinner for the family and didn't have anyone to taste it, so I tasted it and then spit it out....OMG, I know that's terrible!!!! But I used to have a serious issue with "chewing and spitting" and thankfully this time around this is not the case.
Lastly, I had to write out in my journal a list of the raw food yummies that I have to look forward to when the time comes. i know this may sound wierd, but it actually helped me. When a craving for a raw meal comes, instead of dwelling on it, I would write it down, and now I know I'll remember later that that's a meal i would love to make when the time comes..LOL..
Anyway, I wanted to do the MC for 40 days and then a juice fast for 10 days which would equal 50 days of fasting. But now I am considering 30 days MC and 10 days juice fast, which would still equal 40 days of fasting total?? Not sure yet. But i do look forward to drinking other drinks:)
Ok, hope everyone is having a FANTASTIC day. I'll try to check in later....

Thank you for the hint - i didn't try a straw.
I have less energy now - it must be lack of lemonade.....
I wonder how far i will go with MC - the big date is May 30th and after that some juices....
Detox has different stages on many levels - i wish you Charika all the best and myself? all the perseverence in the world because it is just the beginning...

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/wow_bounce.gif ... great comments today!!!
vivafree... gotta tell ya...one of my ABSOLUTE favorite parts of being on this fast -- is the 'less puffy face' part!! My face is soooo round already when I smile... so being on the MC releases that excess puffiness out of my face and I looove that!! The other day I looked in the mirror and lo and behold... I had cheekbones again!! I looove it! When I gain weight - I have the body type that I gain it from my head to my toes .. I think even my ears get fat!! (I even wear a larger size shoe!! then I get the added gift of additional padding and storage of fat and toxins on my face and right around the tummy... my trouble areas... so when I see my face is slimming down -- I KNOW I'm releasing toxins... thank GAAAWD!!
Morn... that V-8 juice sounds faaabulous -- I love V8 juice!! I didn't realize that fat was actually stored toxins... (not sure what I thought it was... but wow....) looking at it that way makes it even more important to get that excess fat OFF of my body... I'm so glad you explained that to me --
oceanee... I looove how you stated... "working to release toxins as a continual goal".... another thing that really puts things in perspective for me... so I appreciate that statement. this fast is just PART of the whole picture... makes it even more do'able... and kinda sets the fire under me again... to continue on this fast with fire and excitment... thank you oceanee ... I appreciate your input AND insight...
charika... you my dear could NEVER be left out!!! Sometimes we get busy and cant post.. or sometimes our schedules are such that fasting just isn't possible for a day or two -- (or whatevers) but that doesn't mean that you have not been here with us in spirit.... and we all know that!!
I am amazed at all of you fasting bandits that are exercising while fasting... my hats off to you.... I know I should be -- but -- I gotta admit... I'm not... I do have about 7 hours of hula on mondays... but other than than - I pretty much am sedentary...(probably why my weights not moving as much too! lol!)... but when I exercise I just feel so weak... so - I opt just to fast then pick up the exercise when I start eating again. I think doing it that way is helping me to stay with the fast longer... who knows... Today I've had about 2 cups so far... and it actually has been more tolerable today. (thankfully)!! and wowzers girl... 50 days... you are AMAZING!! RAWk on!! that is sooo cool! We're all rooting you on!!
okay fasting rawbies...http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/BouncySmile.gif ... day 28 for me. And today was the first day that I actually felt woozy this morning -- (which is usually my first sign that I am approaching that moment when need to consider breaking the fast)... but it only lasted about 5 minutes... and I felt like I was moving in sloooooow motion... but then -- my body just seem to kick into gear and now I feel very strong and together... so -- I'm still with ya'll!! My body always gives me VERY DEFINITE SIGNS when it's had enough.... but so far - so good... !
everyone have a rawmaciously DELICIOUS FASTING DAY!! I'll try to check in after hula...

.Really love how the mc makes you feel, even when detoxing. It seems to be the continual fight of past years yet I am determined to win and shall someday be a raw poster girl like MORN!:D It will happen!~.Oceanee

Yeah you will! Just wait and see!;)
.Morn: I know this is a little late, but just wanted to say that I LOVED your pic too- VERY cute.
Lastly, I had to write out in my journal a list of the raw food yummies that I have to look forward to when the time comes. i know this may sound wierd, but it actually helped me. When a craving for a raw meal comes, instead of dwelling on it, I would write it down, and now I know I'll remember later that that's a meal i would love to make when the time comes..LOL...Ok, hope everyone is having a FANTASTIC day. Charika I so understand what you mean about the neglect and abuse issue. As I look back in time I think that really really acurately describes what I did to myself. I kept thinking I didn't have the time or the energy to deal with the issue and everytime I looked into the mirror it was a reminder of it and I hated the person I saw in the reflection. It is funny cause I think when I got big I disappeared on the inside as a person too. Kind of weird how we just want to blend in and be invisible in our physical and social life when we are larger and not feeling our best. I had always been somewhat extroverted but when I gained weight I totally became an introvert. And yes I was unhealthy in every areana too physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually. You can't help but not be when one area of your life is so much out of whack (and out of balance). Its like an all consuming thing that affects you as a whole - I call it a vicious cycle as the food you love and desire and live for so much is completely destroying your life and health at the same time. For me it is like I gained my life back and I started to LIVE again when I started taking off the weight. For so long I was living in a dead, trance like state. I remember listening to a song on the radio by Evanescence and the song went like this "Wake Me Up Inside - Can't Wake up - Save me from the nothing I've become" and wow that was exactly the way I felt. Luckily when I hear that song now I have woken up! I don't feel that same feeling anymore when I hear the song. I am just thankful to God from freeing me from that messed up life!
So for me God has used Raw Foods, Exercise, and Fasting to help me get free from being in bondage to SAD food and being overweight. I am actually missing fasting already and know it will be a part of my life for the rest of my life.
Oh and what a great idea about writing a meal plan down for a later time. I printed out a few new recipes to try for when I got off of my fast and I just made one yesterday that is literally to die for. Since I was drinking so many thai coconuts on my fast I saved all the meat and froze it and used the meat to make noodles for a raw thai dish. It is incredible! So just an idea if you guys want to save the meat for later - it freezes/thaws really nicely and no wasted coconut!
Well peeps keep up the good work! So many of you folks are nearing the finish line!:D

Good Morning all !
It feels so good to be back on track after a slight slip Sunday. I mean, how many times to I have to test myself ? Crazy cycle isn't it. I am up, had great dreams , even an adventure to a far off land and I am in a positive frame of mind. Had my sm tea, lemonade with apple cider vinegar and now it is lemonade all the live long day!
Chakira:I have goofed up so many times trying to deal with my food addiction before discovering raw and even as I am on my raw journey. I know it is my "cure" to depression, weight, health, food abuse and well being in every sense of the word.I am determined to beat this and the MC has always been a great way to reset the inner clock for me. Right now if I can make it 2-3 weeks I know I will be on my way. Then I can do the MC in a few months. But boy oh boy ~ those darn voices in my head who take me to the other side ...well I am not listening to them anymore!
Morn:Thanks for the cheer.I feel that I may use or implement fasts as you have throughout the rest of my life overcoming food addiction. I can see how it can be a healthy tool from what you wrote. I keep wishing this obsession will go away, but I imagine it only lessons. I have struggled with issues that made me overeat for years. And I am very successful in other ways. This is the big one though and I need to release that inner me.
Star:I need to learn how to add little cheering icons or whatever ya call them ! Do you have a magic box ?
Rawmom:Welcome ! So glad to have another voice here~this thread is so inspirational.
Vivafree:Way to go detoxing. We are all so different and it is helpful to hear ! Yeah for you !
Happy cleansing everyone! (opps sorry for all the bold~ I thought I was only doing names in bold:D ...)
