I love raw food prep. I really, really enjoy it. I've been trying to figure out the possibility/probability that in a more wealthy and raw-interested city I could make a living as a live foods personal chef and/or maybe as a caterer.
Does anyone do this for a living? Do you find that people look for certain certifications or trainings of personal chefs, or is trying your food enough? Any legal stuff or other things I should know about?

I am not a personal chef, but if there was someone offering to prepare RAW for me, and possibly deliver meals, that sort of things...well sign me up! It's only my fourth day 100% RAW, but I am a practice administrator for a very busy medical office, I work about 60 hours a week, and work on the weekends from home, so with my life style RAW is difficult. Especially going to corporate lunches, and meeting and everyone is drinking coffee and eating donuts. So the convience of a personal chef, in my opinion, would be worth paying for!

i know people who work as personal chefs and/or have catering businesses and they make a descent living. they aren't certified or hold special degrees or anything. technically, you are supposed to have a commericial kitchen for cooking if you're doing catering, maybe if you're working as a personal chef, too, but i am not sure. however, the people i know have always gotten away with not having a commerical kitchen.

mluce, if you're near the nh/ma border and feel up to being a guinea pig, you could be my first client. ;)
