Well, here I am, finally ready to take on the challenge after years of reading about the raw food diet and thinking about maybe doing it. this time I'm ready.
My name is Tal, I'm from Israel, 32 years old and a vegetarian for a few years who's tired of feeling overwhelmed and unenergetic at a time in life that I should be blossoming.
As I said, I've been thinking about going raw for a few years but believed it was too extreme but then slowly as life went on the concept of natural life seemed to make more and more sense to me and now I feel ready. I promised myself on my 32nd birthday that this would not be just another year in my life and now I'm up to my promise to myself - this will be the best year that would change my life forever.
I decided to take the challenge and convinced my mother to take it along with me. of course I promised to make all the food (I love "cooking" anyway) and she promised to take me for a walk everyday so that's a win-win for both of us (I also will be quiting smoking and she, drinking coffee)
So, wish me luck and check out the blog I'll be setting up for the challenge as I will need support and some strength and I'm sure everything will turn out great just as it's meant to be.

I live in Michigan, near Chicago... but travel abroad/around a lot for work.
I couldnt quit without use of the nicotine patches. It was easy the first 3 weeks and all of a sudden I am having a hard time (but keeping smoke free)-i think coz of stress and pms.
One thing at a time. You are doing great. I didnt even attempt to quit smoking until I'd done a 30 day master cleanse fast.

Wishing you and mother a wonderful walk down the road of raw food. I love preparing raw foods. The prep and clean up are very different than cooked foods. I love it when I can make a couple pies in 15-30 minutes depending on the type I make vs. 1-2 hours for baked pies. I hope you have Alissa's book and DVD. The DVD really is fun to watch Alissa preparing food and then you realize how easy making raw food can be. Good Luck...Judith

Hi Taltal,
I quit smoking by going raw and fasting, I have found it easy so far , its been 3 weeks and normally its the first three weeks that are the hardest yet i have found it easy by raw and fasting.Coffee also went for me as well, and that was many cups of coffee a day.
Good luck it can be done.
