I have been 90% raw for six weeks now, with the 10% cooked consisting of rice milk occasionally and sprouted grain tortillas occasionally with my hummus and veggies. During the first 4 weeks, I spent many hours in the kitchen making gourmet dishes from Alissa's book (which are delicious) as well as others that I had found. I guess this helped with transitioning into Raw, because these looked sort of like the real thing and had a little more substance to them. Well, I read that eventually you kind of wean yourself away from all of that food, and settle into fruit days, mono days, veggie days, but that has not happened. I always seem to be hungry and can't imagine having a day where I only eat all fruit. I will usually have a green smoothie and fruit first thing in the morning, or some mornings if I'm not rushing I'll do a bowl of granola with rice milk, fruit for a snack, flax crackers with hummus or salsa for a snack, a salad or collard wrap with hummus and veggies for lunch, and the same kinds of things for dinner. (I'm tired of eating) How do you all eat just fruit all day and a salad for dinner? Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or its just taking me longer to transition. HELP!

6 weeks... don't sweat it... you are just in the beginning of your lifestyle!

i've been doing this for a few months now (since aug 07) and i'm finding myself very mono and very limited on what i eat... and then somedays i eat everything in the fridge (that's raw of course) LOL

give yourself time and listen to your body. if you crave something - eat it. if you find yourself only wanting kale salads... eat them. if you find yourself only wanting fruit salads... eat them... it'll happen. when your body is ready... and not a moment before. :)

welcome welcome welcome!!!

Thank you for that advice. I will just listen to my body and go with the flow. I know that its better than the SAD so I have to feel good about that.

Aloha and Welcome to RFT!!! Sounds like you're already finding your groove! It's good that you are not stressing and that you realize this is a LIFEstyle... and that you are changing habits and patterns in your life and that will take time.... so love yourself enough to allow yourself the time you need to make those changes!!
