I used to like those "just add [hot] water" meals where you, obviously, just added water and in 5 minutes it was done.

It should be easy to make raw version of these, and I think it would be an awesome solution to my search for quick raw meals (I could make a ton worth, dehydrate it, and keep it for a long time).

I once made a "just add water" chili with tomatoes, spices, sprouted back eyed peas and then dehydrated the mix, and then I could add water, but it wasn't very good, I think it's the black eyed peas that I didn't like. I'm sure it's possible to make a good tasting just add water type raw meal.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I would like at least a few high calorie foods in it, but not sure what high calorie foods would be good in this type of thing.

I always wanted to try this, one reason I couldn't before was that I didn't have a grinder and my blender is WAY too big to grind a small amount, so now I can turn dried veggies to powder! This will be required for this type of recipe I'm sure. If I don't get any suggestions I'll try to invent something good from scratch.

Thanks for any suggestions

I haven't tried it, but I seem to recall someone saying they made powdered raw soups by dehydrating veggies, then grinding them into a powder. ~ Cathy

I haven't tried it either, but I think that mature coconut and bananas, dried and blended into a powder, would make a high-calorie just-add-water-pudding.

David Favor has two items on his site that are add water. One is chocolate bliss ( a drink that taste like a yoohoo) and fieasta mole ( Mexican style soup). They both contain superfoods and you can do more than just add water. I have added fiesta mole to a cracker recipe and just use it as a spice. Chocolate bliss I made into puddings and pies.
