I've been reading the threads about eating nori for the hair and with my scraggly hair tucked up in my hat, I set out to get some. :) Every place I looked... HF stores, Asian markets, regular grocery stores... all carried "Toasted Nori" I asked and was told (by Whole foods) that it is all toasted. Is this correct? If so, is Nori raw? What do you all, those of you who eat seaweed, eat?
Thanks in advance!

You can find raw nori online. We get ours at the HFS. It won't say toasted, that's for sure. Yes, there is such a thing as raw nori. Dulse is yummy, too.
Mermaids love the stuff, and look at their hair!!

Check Alissa's online store (just look to your left in the sidebar!) as she sells raw nori. Most nori in stores is toasted but not all nori is toasted. The toasted is usually green and the raw is black so you'll know when you see it.

I buy raw nori from my local health food store and it says "raw nori" on it so I don't think they would lie about it. From my understanding, not all nori is toasted.

raw nori may also be labeled as "dried nori," and like Rawkinlocs said, it'll be a more black/dark purplish color

Thanks for all the responses! I think I will order some from Alissa, sure fire way to know it's raw! My daughter love sushi and I'd like to try to raw recipe :) and have her give it a whirl and well as the hair improvement prospects.
Rawnerino- thanks for the blog comment... with people reading it but no comments, I was afraid I was coming off looking like a total loon! :)

Yes, I have found a big diversity in what every Whole Foods carry. Mine here isn't so raw friendly or savvy! :)
