This is my first time posting to the forum. I haven't seen this posted before so thought I'd share with you guys. Omit the Namu Shoyu from the onion bread recipe and substitute Celtic sea salt (I use 1-1/2 teaspoons, but I like salt). Spread on your teflex sheet and sprinkle additional sunflower seeds on top. In about 4 or 5 hours, lightly score with a pizza cutter (won't hurt the teflex if you're gentle). Dehydrate until really crispy flipping over when they are dry enough. You'll have a white, crispy, flaky cracker that looks like a SAD saltine. And for some reason they taste like they have butter in them. I haven't figured that out yet. But they do. Make sure you dehydrate really well to get the crispy, flaky texture. And I suppose you could go less on the salt in the recipe and sprinkle some on top to get a real saltine.

Love this forum. I've gotten some really good ideas and recipes from it. Happy to be a part of it.

OliveOyl,

Thank you for the alternative. One thing here many people seem to miss is bread and anything crunchy. Sounds good to me!

My husband LOVED the onion bread. Add some more salt to make crackers and he's good to go! :)
