Hello! This is my first time posting on this site. I have learned so much just by reading other posts! My question is this: How do you know how much calcuim a body needs? An adult, a child, a teen? There are no RDA % on a bag of spinach!! Does anyone know of a web site or listing somewhere that might give me some information on this so I can ensure my family is getting enough calcium? I would appreciate it. Thanks so much.

Hi Rawmom,

I just want to say that I still don't always know exactly how to answer people when they ask me nutrition questions about my raw diet, but I do know that after going raw I realized that I was eating WAY more fruit and veggies than I ever dreamed of. On an average day I ate more than most of my friends do in a whole week! Even more on days that i juiced. I felt fabulous, so I stopped worrying about about numbers and just made sure I had lots of calcium-rich sources in my diet: almonds and almond milk, dark green leafy veggies, dried fruit, etc. I do understand that with children you'd want to be more careful, so I'll let Alissa or someone else answer that. :)

You might start by looking at these websites: www.fitday.com and www.nutritiondata.com

Thanks to both of you for your responses. I feel I am getting all the calcium I need-but the young ones are my main concern. I will take a look at those sites recommended. Thanks again!
