Hi Everyone!
Well I'm new to this site, but not entirely new to RAW foods. My mom has been going on and on about raw foods for years now, eating at least 50% raw foods. I became interested myself last year, after reading Brendan Brazier's book, "The Thrive Diet" and attending one of his seminars.
I've always loved my fruits and vegetables, preferring a veg and dip platter to cooked vegetables at dinner time. However, it wasn't until I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease last year that I finally started really listening to what my folks were saying. I also noticed that after my diagnosis and starting a gluten-free diet, it was easier to eat fresh salads and other vegetables. Now, I literally drool for a salad if I haven't had one for lunch. I am not 100% raw, but I did buy a couple of books last month, and I've been uncooking up a storm - especially in the sushi department...I love sushi, and love it even more without the actual rice! My mom is loving it! I do however have to watch my ingredients still, ensuring that there is no wheat or gluten in anything as the reaction is instant and brutal. So I just stick to sprouting quinoa - I love this in my salads!
I must say that I find myself much more able to enjoy my physical activities and have energy flying out of me, I don't always know what to do with myself! Good thing I love hiking, running, soccer, and camping. And the best part is that raw food is so much easier to take, store, and prepare!
Looking forward to chatting with everyone,
Cheers,
