fresh maple water/sap...............

....does anyone know the nutrional value of the water/sap from tapped maples? It is maple syrup time here in MI and my hubby tapped our trees....we have gallons of it! Some is simmering away for syrup and I've tasted the water...very fresh, clear, slightly sweet........anybody ever drink it?!......Blessings............Deb

I have a maple tree in the backyard! I tapped it once a while ago. Is the water good to taste as is? I'd assume it's like a maple flavored coconut water? I haven't tasted any in so long!

I'd only tap it if it's a good taste as water, I would never cook it to maple syrup.

Hi Raweater! ...the water is fresh and clear and light...looks like water to me! It is just a tad sweet....my hubby thinks it is full of minerals...but we really don't know.......I think it has a refreshing quality to it too...........
