I heard that bottled juices are not to be used while fasting because they have been pasteurized and contain very little nutrients, so basically you are just drinking sugar.
Is it better to use a juice extractor, which separates the juice from the pulp, to keep the nutritive value of the raw fruits/vegs you drink?
I'd really like to do a juice fast but cannot afford a juice extractor right now. Any suggestions?

Do you own a Vitamix (or other powerful) blender? If so, then you can blend your fruits and veggies and strain using a nut milk bag. This is what many of those who have successfully done those 90+ day juice feasts do.
Even a standard blender would probably work out okay but you may not be able to blend a lot of the harder veggies...but for fruit and greens and softer veggies, I don't see why not.

Oh great idea! Yes I do have a Vitamix, I'll have to try your suggestion. Thanks!

if you don't have a nut milk bag... go to home depot and get a paint strainer bag... it'll work as well!

Please help me to understand -what is the difference between juicing fruit and vegetables in a juicer and blending then straining with a nut milk bag?
I have often seen people mention blending then straining. Is it better than using a juicer?

Using a juicer is faster, easier, less messy. The only reason you would use a blender and strain is the situation here... she doesn't have a juicer.
