Is it natural to be obsessed with food?
I think it is the SAD in me (still not 100% yet); but will this go away? Or is this natural for some people? Like the OCD in me. With the OCD go away?
Anyone here with it/ had it?

I don't think it's necessarily natural. Might be natural for you. I am one who likes to talk about and read about food all the time. I like to watch cooking shows. Well, some of them anyway. But I do not eat all the time. I do know some people who eat all the time.

i used to feel a little obsessed with food and it didn't feel healthy to me. i feel much more balanced now that my food choices don't govern my life.

it's all about finding the perfect balance for YOU.

I think I can be more obsessed with food being a raw foody! I really enjoy food!It can be expansve in the raw lifestyle, like enjoying plants and nature more, more in tune with meditating, outdoors etc. i mean the energy of obsession can be positive too.If you are 100% raw you can eat all the time. After awhile your body will naturally adapt to less. At first I ate pounds and pounds of food mixed up in my Food Processor. Now months later i can hardly believe it. I still do let my body live out its obsessions, like a month of tahini, or chocolate or sprouts, etc etc. There is a kinder place for obsession here in the raw world.

BTW When i have fasted i have been blown away by seeing just how much energy really does go into food thinking, eating, planning..when its really right timing a fast could be nice for you. Liberating, frees up alot of creative energy.

Good luck.

OCD can be caused by excess dopamine (l-tyrosine is a precursor) and insufficient serotonin (l-tryptophan is a precursor). Low serotonin can also cause food cravings. These two neurotransmitters balance like a see-saw, but you should normally have more dopamine (energy/focus) during the day and tryosine (calming, relaxing) at night. To correct this you might want to look up which foods have a high amount of tryptophan. Another option is to take an L-tryptophan or 5HTP supplement. I am actually just learning about all of this so I don't really have experience with results but the information I gave to you here was from a website on alternative mental health. I hope it helps.

btw I used to have OCD but it went away, probably just from my dopamine being depleted from excessive caffeine usage. Now I actually have a problem on the opposite end of the spectrum where I can't even focus or concentrate let alone be obsessive about anything, so I am planning on trying to make sure I am getting the correct amino acids I need from foods.
