Hi Kimberle,
Well, I am assuming you have Alissa's book by your post. And she has a four week menu plan with the shopping list to go with it, have you tried these?
You can also go to people's journals here and see what they are eating.
I just started a thread that is what is your favorite menu for raw-curious friends, there is my menu for one night, but there are a few others there also.
You can also try a "search" for all different recipes that people on this board swear by, by going to the top of the page and clicking on the banana "search" and typing in what you are looking for, I know at this point you may not even know what to look for, but the raw food recipe's thread has tons of good ideas from alot of us on this board.
But just in case all of this is "too computer literate" for you, I'll give you a sample of what I eat in a week or so.
Breakfasts are fresh fruits of any kind I choose, hot tea (actually warm tea, from fresh herbs picked out of our garden) Breakfast buritos, Scrambled eggs ranchero with sour cream and hot salsa, muffins, pancakes and waffles, quiche all raw and vegan of course.
Morning Snack, usually some kind of fruit juice, and crackers and a pate' spread
Lunch usually a few pesto stuffed mushrooms, or zucchinis or rawviolie in the dehydrator to warm and maybe a small salad, or taco salad or enchilada, sometimes fruit too.
Afternoon snack, I usually eat something like fresh strawberriesz (now they are growing in our beds) or cherries, or pears, or whatever is growing in our gardens
Dinner is usually something pretty heavy like pizza, roast beast and blood red gravy (really good, sounds weird) enchiladas, burgers, taco salad, burittos, spinach wraps, stuffed mushrooms (never get enough of those) some kind of juice and usually some kind of green herb salad depending on the herbs in our garden, sometimes we just eat the flowers of the herbs.
Snack usualy popcorn or crackers with a cheese or spread, grapes when they come in on our arbor, or maybe fruit sorbet.
Again, all of this is vegan and RAW, and most of it comes from our gardens, but during the winter we are forced to resort to purchasing fruits and veggies from the local co=ops and grocery stores.
We try to have an abundance of already made items in our freezer like burger patties, which also make good meat balls in our spaghetti and meat in our pizza topping, and in our taco salad and in our burritos, same burgers, different uses.
We keep burrito shells enchilada shells and pesto stuffed mushrooms always in the freezer in large batches.
We keep cashew sour cream, pico-de-gallo, hot salsa, cilantro pesto, chutneys, almond mayonaise, honey mustard, date paste, almond cheese, cashew cream, macademia nut whipped cream and pineapple cream in our fridge at all times.
Also, we keep all the nuts, seeds, cacao nibs, carob, spices, herbs, veggies, fruits and pretty much anything you can think of in our fridge.
If you and a dozen friends came to visit, we could have a gourmet meal prepaired within an hour, and feed you all for about a week, without having to go to the store, or make anything new, except maybe pick our gardens, for the fresh produce.
We make all our own condiments etc.
So, hope this gives you some ideas on what you can do with your raw food.
There are as many things to eat on raw as there are thoughts in your mind.
Just take any old SAD food you liked, and try to make it raw, you will find many wonderful recipes in Alissa's book, she has some really fantastic ones.
Even my carnivore hubby loves Alissa's raw recipes. And that's saying something.

Recipes don't go over too well with my kids either. My baby and my 12 year old daughter do eat some of the recipes. We don't stick to actual menu plans - whatever we want/like/love, we eat...no matter what time of day.
So our main daily staples are:
raw oatmeal (if you do a search, you can find out more info on how to make it, etc.)
fruit (mainly bananas, oranges, apples, grapes, watermelon, nectarines, pears, strawberries, etc.)
salads
smoothies and green smoothies
nuts and seeds
banana ice cream (again, a search in the recipe section will provide with you with link to the recipe)
Now, I do make recipes SOME-times and when I do, it's onion bread (in the recipe section), rawvioli (OH, a couple of my kids DO like that), nut pate', a lot of desserts and well...we just do what we do and eat what we like.
I'm sure you'll find some things you like. What have you tried so far?
Some of my favorites are:
ravioli
strawberry crepes
almond butter balls
almond butter/raisin cookies
banana flax crackers
the pizza is "okay" when I'm in the mood for it
the marinara sauce is good and I just discovered that I like spiralized sweet potatoes (rinsed in water AFTER being spiralized) as the "pasta" instead of the zucchini or squash - same with making the rawvioli, I use sweet potatoes
mock turkey loaf is good for holiday time
But maybe you all should just keep it simple for now. Salads with homemade dressing, fruit, smoothies, almond butter balls, crackers, apples and/or bananas with almond butter...stuff like that. Remember, when eating raw, you don't have to do the "traditional" thing of having specific foods for specific meals. We can eat oatmeal for dinner!

You can check out my journal for what may family eats. Also, my four yr. old would sometimes eat a little differently, and his meals are listed too.

sometimes I think we are way to dependent on highly "prepared" meals , really the simple things are often the best ,and less stressfull (one of the reasons raw is so good is that it makes eating so easy ,like healthy REALLY fast food ) So you might try havin carrot sticks , salad fixin's, nori for wraps, and fruits availible !

Welcome Kim
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Kim,
I have to say, I'm the opposite of Raw Priestess in how I eat. I work 45 hours a week, commute, exercise, have a social life so I do as little prep as possible. I'm not trying to make this food plan look like cooked food and find it easier for me to adjust. I do have to say that I'm only prepping food for myself and not a family. Here's an idea of how I might eat for a day.
b. melon because it's so refreshing after a morning walk
s. a smoothie made from banana/strawberries/ice that I take to work for my 10am snack
l. a big green salad with lots of veggies thrown on it - sometimes I have guacamole/raw salsa on it for dressing, occasionally olive oil/lemon juice etc and a piece of fruit
s. around 3pm my stomach tells me it's time for a fruit snack. I try to vary my snacks. Fresh pineapple one day, or grapes, or melon, or nectarines etc
d. for dinner I have more fresh fruit - maybe a salad - some nuts and a few dates.
Dates seems to be something that keep me very happy. Just a few to end the day. I like to make flax crackers from Alissa's book so that I can put a spread on it, or cashew butter or almond butter. I also like Alissa's Mock Salmon Spread which takes all over 4 minutes in the food processor. Yesterday I found a recipe for Carmel Coconut Cookies on your food prep thread and they are fabulous!
If you have kids, make lots of smoothies for them. They might also love the "ice cream" that many here make. In the food processor throw frozen bananas and any other fruit you like. A little warm water makes it very creamy. I add vanila and a pinch of salt and a touch of agave nectar. I love it with bananas and strawberries mixed or blueberries or or or..... Also celery stuffed with pate or almond butter. Bananas with almond butter are a great snack or lunch. If the kids refuse to eat greens, throw a little romaine into a fruit smoothie and call it "green slime". All kids love slime!
I personally haven't experimented very much with the recipes as I'm lazy in the kitchen, but I'm sure others will give you wonderful advice on favorite things to make. There's lots of moms here on the board to help.
Wishing you a wonderful raw journey!

yes , honestly unless you need the heavier dishes to stay raw or you love being a culinary master , you dont need to do intricate meals. Imo simplicity and not doing a lot of prep is one of my favorite things about raw. You might try nori (sheets of seaweed) as a wrapper for veggie wraps?

I'd say of anyone, I probably eat most like Calee.
About the only thing I keep ready-made are flaxseed crackers as, if I'm hungry, I'm usally wanting crunch. With flaxseed crackers I can top them with a cuke and tomato slice, add a basil leaf and good to go. IF I need some fat, add some almond butter and agave instead.
My husband will usually have a very large glass of oj for breakfast. I'll usually have a large bowl of melon at this time.
During the day we'll have whatever ~ green smoothie, extra large salad (for me), small salad (for him). We drink lots of water also.
I tend to eat handfuls of nuts (one handful) on occasion.
If I've got bananas in my freezer, I'll sometimes make up some "ice cream" with 'nanas, agave, vanilla and nuts.
If guests come over, since I always keep certain things in stock such as nuts, seeds, flavorings, all I might need would be some fresh veggies or fruits depending on what I might wish to make and could easily whip up a succotash with fresh tahini dressing; raw salad and fresh dressing; homemade guacamole with flaxseed crackers; raw fruit pie ~ w/in about 2 hours.
Oh! Here's an idea. Go to www.thegardendiet.com and pick up Storm and Jinjee's eBooks. They eat relatively simply; are raising 4 children totally raw. They have a bunch of transition recipes as well as ~ after one's transitioned. They are only $20 (don't bother with the dvd).
