I saw this link on someone's blog, it's a microfiber salad bag. You're suppose to be able to wash your greens, throw em in the bag and then in the fridge to store them. It saves you from having to use the salad spinner.

Being the frugal person that I am, I thought surely there a way to use microfiber towels or something less costly. There are microfiber towels on ebay but they're yellow. I was wondering if the yellow dye in the towels would be unhealthy. Even if I could find white, isn't that still dyed as well?

I could either sew these up as bags or just roll the greens up in the towel and put them in a container to in the fridge.

Should I just look for white towels or fabric? Also, I don't want to wash them in Tide and then store food in them. Any suggestions for "green" laundry detergent? Maybe that should be another thread but if you're reading this and can suggest something I'm all ears. Does anybody use essential oils like melaluca to make their own laundry detergent? The melaluca company won't disclose what are in their products. Probably because they don't have too.

TIA!

I have one of those bags, they really work, I think going through the trouble of sewing up microfiber towels with dye in them is more time consuming and costly than actually buying one. I say it's a justified purchase

the problem is I would have to order a lot of those bags because I was going to use them for more then just greens. Does anyone know if the dye in microfiber towels is washed out and harmless after it's washed in a safe detergent? Safe enought to roll up greens, carrots and all other produce like red peppers and beets. I'm trying to get organized to make a juice fast be a lot easier by having everything washed before putting it in the refrigerator?
How do you store all your produce?
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, didn't know where to put it.
