I've been raw for only 20 days and I've noticed a really cool change going on...
It's been almost a week and I haven't had an sleep in my eyes. By 'sleep', I mean that crusty stuff that's in your eyes when you wake up. I've had this condition of wiping my eyes several times a day to get it out.
Now, whenever I go to wipe my eyes there's nothing there, even in the morning, nothing. My eyes also somehow look bigger, more white, and more vivid.
I didn't think I'd see changes like this. I wonder what's next?
Anyways, thought I'd share! :)

That's great! That means you are getting cleaner! The "crusty stuff" is actually mucus formed from a cooked diet. Same goes for ear wax and other similar stuff. I never really had any, but I never get it at all now. Congrats!

i get waaaaaaay more now that i'm raw. i never had it before but now i do daily.
hard for me to believe it has anything to do with being raw or not... since i am raw and have been for a while now.

RG,
I'm not exactly sure why that would be, the eyes getting worse. How long into raw did it start? I've heard that grains can be mucus forming. I really don't want to say too much as to step out of line! I know that some raw foodist include them. I don't include grains, just fruits, some root veggies and nuts. I never eat dehydrated either since I'm not that great at un-cooking! Everyone may react differently, but it's just what I have read in some raw books that I have.

nope no grains here. i'd say it started more in the last couple of months.
i do a little dehydrating but not much at all to be honest. mostly green smoothies and kale salad. i haven't had any grains since early last year. even before i went raw, i stopped eating grains as they really upset my tummy.
I get crusty, dry eyes as a result of something not food-related - it happens due to chlorine in my shower water. In my case, this is definitely the reason. It took me years to figure it out (even though it was staring me in the face) but I have since experimented and confrimed this conclusion on numerous occasions. One of these days, I'll get around to buying a shower filter but until then, I will have to resign myself to putting up with this unpleasant symptom.
Whether the probable cause in your case is food intolerance, or food allergy, do not rule out the possibility of intolerance or allergy to a non-food-related trigger, such as chlorine, dust mites, household cleaning products etc.

Like RG, I also have this badly and I've been raw for almost 2 years. I don't have chlorine in my shower as well.

That's weird. I definitely lost all the "sleep" from my eyes early on in my raw journey. I also used to wake up with swollen eyelids, and I don't anymore. That made it really clear to me when I woke up one morning last week with pinkeye!!
