agave- because I have the wickedest sweet tooth and it doesn't make me all bloated and puffy
avocados- because they fill me up like no other food
frozen bananas- wouldn't be drinking green smoothies if I didn't have them
iced tea- regular tea bags used with an iced tea maker, technically not raw but God only knows what I would drink if I didn't have tea...

Great post, neighbor!

Mixed greens- because they are the base to so many of my meals. My green smoothies in the morning and my salads that I live on in the afternoon and evening. Greens are so versatile!

Cacao- Woman cannot live without her chocolate!:p

Dehydrater- If I want some warm food this is what use and would be lost without it. I also love my granny smith cinnamon apple slices that I make on it.

1. Avocados - more "filling" than other veggies and I often need that
2. Spinach - I have never really cared for salads and I still don't. But I add spinach to my smoothies so I get my greens. I notice if I don't get greens in everyday, I don't do as well.
3. This website has helps LOADS! I love all the information and support.
4. Staying 100% raw actually helps me stay 100% raw. I don't have any cravings for junk food. My friend eats raw all day but often eats cooked food at night with her bf, and she has many more cravings than I do.
5. Crackers. I'm still not great at making them but even when they aren't the best, I still need to have that crunch so I eat them. I am getting better at this.

Strong, laser-clear lifetime goals/passions that REQUIRE healthy eating help me to stay raw. Without those visions in mind....what's the point? In my opinion/observation....a desire to eat healthy and be healthy are not enough...unless you have goals that require it as a tool. Don't you think?

Green smoothies- I would NEVER eat that many greens in a single day/every day.

avocados- filing, versatile(can you say chocolate pudding), good fats, makes kale salad sing!

My juicer-I couldn't get that much citrus in daily w/o it.(as a singer, it is my saving grace vocally).

Before/After pics (self explanatory).

Beautiful raw folks in the world like Alissa, Dhrumil, Sarma, Karen, Angela, Matt etc..

Raw olives, raw crackers, dates, exotic fruit. But also knowing how good I feel now that I'm raw. :) And seeing how I inspire others to make more empowering choices in their own lives.

I've been raw for 3 weeks now:

- My skin is clearing up
- I've lost weight
- Eyes are brighter then ever
- No more dry skin

I'm doing this for myself! If I didn't see change I'd go right back to my regular vegan diet. Both are good. This diet is expensive for me, but to have all of above makes me think that this might be good for me. If I had reason to believe going back to a cooked vegan diet was better, I'd do it.

As for the food. I love it. I admit, cooked food tastes great, but health and well-being tastes better!

Kale salad helps me stay raw. It's tasty and filling. I wash and cut up the kale and then let it marinate in a dressing made of olive oil, garlic, balsamic vinegar, lemon jiuce, amino acids and a dash of agave. After placing the greens in a bowl I add raw nuts (pine nuts, almonds) and dried fruit (cranberries, raisins). Sometimes I'll slice a banana and throw it in. This salad is soooooo good! Try it. I actually keep some in the freezer so that I have something handy when I feel a meltdown approaching (lol)!

Above all else my faith that I'm doing the best thing I could possibly be doing for myself helps me stay Raw.

Seeing results increase exponentially over time sustains me. I would describe this as being like a beautiful circle, always bringing me back to myself and connecting me to what this is all about.

Kale, avocados, apples, oranges, hempseed milk, apple cider vinegar shots & green smoothies get a raw shout out too. ;)

shredded coconut- works great in deserts
vanilla extract- may not be raw but I get organic and I love vanilla!
dates- I don't like them plain, but they really are quite useful
this could go on forever...

i agree... it's all about the kale!

also my appliances, dehydrator, vita-mix, champion, kitchen-aide food processor... they make my life easier and assist me to create whatever i want in that moment!

my friend melissa is a HUGE part of me staying raw as is this forum and my forum http://www.timelessspirit.com/forum

honestly, there is so much that keeps me raw. my favourite restaurant creating a salad just for me... so i can eat raw when i'm there. (they do a lovely balsamic vinegar/olive oil dressing and toss all the veggies they have [except onions and green peppers] together for me... even have a special price just for me).

my favourite thing to eat raw... kale salad and green smoothies. come to think of it, that's almost all i eat raw right now LOL

Avacado- I don't even enjoy their taste, but they're good for 'grounding'
Bananas- 'cause they're so convenient; you can find them anywhere, and I worry less about the pesticides since you can peel the outer layer... (i would never touch an inorganic apple:p )
My newly discovered, home-made wraps, sandwiches, and burritos
green tea- not raw, ofcourse, but really helps me feel more 'grounded', and provides me with a nice warmth amidst the chill of nyc
kombucha- SO GOOD, and a nice momentary appetite suppresant
salads- they just feel so right... so healthy, clean, and rejuvenating
sprouts- cheap, easy, filling and highly versatile;)

oh i loooove everything about kale. i love the texture, i love the crunch... i love the flavour.

here's what i do... i change it up each time i make it...

cut up the kale
put it into a large bowl
sprinkle some salt on it
drizzle some olive oil (you can add some other oils as well like hemp or flax but still use olive as well)
add one of these: lime juice, lemon juice or apple cider vinegar

get your hands in there and work it! rub it, get the oil and vinegar/lime/lemon and salt really worked well into the flesh of the kale. it'll turn it a nice dark green. (this is the part i save in the fridge for later... i add the rest (below) daily)

now let it sit for 5 minutes while you cut up some fresh cherry tomatoes, or perhaps some cucumbers, you can also add some sprouts etc. i find adding only one or two things to my kale salad is better for digestion. also it gives me more options to change it up later!

serve!!!

i eat this anywhere from twice daily to every couple of days depending on my desire/mood. but i always have it in the fridge ready to go. when/if it's in there more than three days... it starts to get limp... so i toss it into the dehydrator (don't add anything just put it in there) and within a couple of hours i have kale chips!!!

^^^ omg, that sounds really good!
Right now in CA Kale prices are through the roof, so I've been doing without my dark green juices :(
When it's over $1.99 a small bunch, you know it's bad...

I guess you're right, right now my eating costs far less than it did pre-raw on fast food for every meal - I just like the savings! I get dresses and shoes and weird specialty superfoods like maca, cacao and bee pollen :)

....I just wanted to throw a few of my favorite kale additives into the mix in hopes of increasing everyone's greens intake options...

Disclaimer: MAY OR MAY NOT BE RAW...AS I'VE NEVER VERIFIED.

* Onion flakes (or dehydrated onions)
* Garlic powder (or fresh diced garlic)
* CRUSHED RED PEPPER FLAKES ('cause I like it hot!)
* Diced jalapeno pepper (ditto...)

I mix these plus the EVOO, sea salt, & ACV, in a large bowl and massage the greens until they gleam w/ glee. If I want a creamy dressing, then I will add half an avocado to the mix before the massage. I actually like my kale salad at room temp. If I don't finish the whole salad, then I just cover it and revisit it later. It almost reminds me of cooked collard greens from an old school family reunion. Happy Southern gurl!;)
