View Full Version : new...hi
I'm VERY new to raw...long story short I grew up in a typical suburban american household (meatloaf and chicken pot pie anyone?) though we ate fairly healthy and were very active as kids. I'm usually a regular runner...but lately I've had really bad fatigue, allergies, suspect thyroid problems...been gluten/lactose intolerant for about 5 years, and pretty much always feel like crud. So I tend to eat pretty clean as it is but I couldn't resist trying raw...people rave about how much better they feel and I want to feel good for once! Today I ate almost all raw, but I still have some non raw food to go through which I can't really afford to just toss so I'm doing a 2 week transition. anyway, hi everyone!

Welcome - I recommend getting Alissa's book and following her 4 week menu plan - a great way to start and not feel overwhelmed.
Welcome, welcome, welcome, I hope you find all you need to stay raw.

Aloha and Welcome to RFT!!! yEp!! I so agree ... the 4 week menu in Alissa's book is how I transitioned to this AMAZING LIFEstyle! I'm so glad I had Alissa's book - it answered so many questions for me -- cuz I was basically 'clueless' when it came to raw foods, what to eat - how to eat....what's a sprout? how to sprout? when to sprout?????? aaaaccckkkk....http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/faint-1.gif !!
and then after reading the Living on Live Foods book - Alissa made everything not only very clear - but she also taught me just how truly easy it is to eat this way!
I wish you great success as you transition ...
blessings on your journey!
