Part of the reason I joined RFT was because of this group. It seems there is very little activity on this list, lately. Is everyone on holiday? Hope to see some action real soon on this group. :)

I think she means the RFT forums.

Pam, maybe it's that you are just SO pamparred, that they've given the entire forum to YOU! :p LOL!

Betsy, thanks for the laugh! :D I enjoyed that response. Glad to see there are some people in the over 50 Group. Was beginning to think everyone had gotten younger and I was all alone. ;)

It must be detox..are you ready for another laugh?

I'm not anywhere near 50, my dear!!

Did'nt realize until now that this is the over 50 group thread, LOL!!:p

I feel somettimes like I'm 400 years old, but, no, I'm half that age!:p

Oh, I am so falling off my chair laughing right now. I was reading this tonight and I was going to respond but didn't. I didn't realize that it was an over 50 club! pamparred, when you said that I assumed you meant the number of posts everyone had (seed, sprout, leaf, tree...). Duh!

I'm going to blame it on the detox too, ok? :)

You're 200?

Rev, dear, please don't believe everything you read, especailly what I say.

i take life as it comes, whether I'm 20 or 200. It just doesn't matter. Really.

I'm half of that of which I was referring to previously, which is really half of that which is really half of that half, which means I am ageless. Now, onto other matters.

BYE!:D

Betsy and Snoozy, it doesn't matter what your age is and yes, Betsy, you are right, we are all ageless. :D

We forgot we were that young - cos now we feel so good!!
-- or until now we wanted to deny it!!

We have so much energy now we are constantly busy.

We are in the kitchen a lot making things out of THE Book!

We are out at the market or the supermarkets scouring for ingredients or staggering back with bags of greens etc.

We are so busy reading this site that we forget we can post too!!

or... I hesitate here.... we have had a lot of green smoothies, bananas and spiralized fruit, several pieces of Alissa's fudge and cake so we can be found moving swiftly down the corridor as opposed to wondering if we should visit the chemist for some help!!;) :o

Will try to do better Pamparred!!:)

Take Care,
Whisper

Well, her'e's some over 50 news, for what it's worth. I am 67 and am going to ride in my first bike race this weekend. It's the Missouri Senior Games. I'll likely place in my age group, because there are few , if any, other riders in it! I have great endurance on my bike, even more since I turned raw 18 mos. ago, but positively no, and I do mean NO natural speed. But I figure that someone has to be a role model for all the 40 y.o. women out there, so I'm doing it. I have 6 grown daughters, and I'm still being a mom, in my opinion, by giving them some good "stay healthy" example. Stay tuned. I'll post here next week on just how well I did. Meanwhile, you all just pray that I stay on my bike for the 40 km (24 mi.) That's the main thing. ;)

I will try and work the time zones out, Blazin'jane, and think of you during your day!! well done.

Let us know how you get on.

Do you think, Iluvmamgos, the same fruits will be around in 150 years time??

Imagine a world without mangoes and coconuts, and almonds and cashews, bananas and carob!! I would be starving.:)

I know ... Green Smoothies!!!

take care,

I agree this group is way too quiet, or are there so few of us?

I'm gonna be 51 soon. I'll post my b4 and afters next month when I hit raw for a year.

I would love to hear from more over 50's what benefits you have had being raw. For me it has been:

Weight loss
Better eyesight (no more reading glasses)
Seasonal allergies gone
Brain fog gone
Softer skin
More energy
Need less sleep and sleep better
Don't get sick (or I can knock it out in a few hours before it sets in)

There's more too but better memory isn't one of them LOL!

I'm 52. I went raw in December. I sleep better, my skin looks great, my eyes are clear, my elimination is problem-free, my energy level is high and I've kept my weight stable. (I didn't go raw for weight-loss purposes, but lost a couple of pounds at first.) I have discovered really great food--that is the major thing.

If we feel as good as we do now, wouldn't that be interesting? Two centuries here! My mother lived almost one. Can you imagine all she saw and went through?

You go, Blazin Jane!!!! Good role model for all of us. I just borrowed a bike and started riding yesterday! I rode 2 times about 10 minutes each. The fact that I can walk today and don't hurt all over is VERY encouraging! I can't wait to hear how you do!

with those who are 60+ and biking and those 200 and still livin'

I'm 52 for a couple more days and have decided it is time to redeicate myself to 100% raw -- it is my birthday gift to me. Dang, I hope I don't spoil my own gift.

And after reading about Blazin Jane, I am tempted to dust off my bike and see if it still fits -- it's been a few years (try 10+) since I've checked out that seat. I remember it rather painful. Wonder if I could find a real cushie seat like I had years ago that the dog decided was tasty.

Back when I was 100% raw,I felt so good; t is time to go back there. My goal is better eyesight and darker hair. Is that too much to ask for? I know one the best remedies would be green smoothies. I need to convince me that they are wonderful.

Boy it feels good to be back! Thanks for the encouragement! Bet you didn't know you did that did you? ;)

I'm 51 and I truly believe that I'm now getting younger and younger, thanks to being raw.

Benefits for me are: a youthful complexion, glossy hair, heaps of energy, a sense of centredness and such optimism!

A true benefit for me was having the confidence to start my own website!
