I was so excited today. I have my new dehydrator and was all set to make several things to put in it. Some Flax crackers, later some bread and I was going to make Allissa recipe for Butternut Squash patties because I had a large squash in the 'fridge that I really needed to do something with.

I had my sunflower seeds and walnuts in to do the first step of the patty recipe....pressed the button and....NOTHING! Checked the plug, checked the container...hit the button again and again nothing. My Cuisnart has died! It's about 15 years old. I think the last time I used it was Christmas.

So, in about an hour I'm heading to Walmart as it's really the only store in town and buying a new Cuisinart.

My flax seeds are all soaked for the crackers and my wheat sprouts are ready and I have all the ingredients for the patties all chopped up. I haven't even thought about if this is all going to even fit in my dehydrator! But, I will be darned if I waste these sprouts and flax seeds.

Off to Walmart...........

Dear Jodi,

I am so sorry to hear about your loss.

I'm sure you know this, make sure the bowl is on the base correctly, and all the little partsy gadgetty things are where they should be, as any one of them just off a teensy bit, will make it so your cuisinart won't work.

Although buying a new gadget is always a fun thing to do.

Hope your dehydrator holds all of your newly created raw food goodies.

Hi rawpriestess! I got a new one (not Cuisinart) and had problems getting it going for the exact reason you stated above.

I fiddled with my Cuinsinart again, but could still not make it work. I swear, if my hubby comes home from work and turns it on I will die!
