Last night during a marathon juicing session I think I broke my omega (centrifugal) juicer. It started to sound like it had batteries that were dying but i thought i could put one last carrot through... nope, it shut off. I thought it might be an emergency stop or something for if it ever got overworked but it won't turn back on. It didn't get particularly hot.
Anyone have a similar experience? Is it the motor? Any chance of fixing it? Its several years old and I got it used.

taking a closer look at the machine just now, there's a switch on the bottom that shuts the machine off if it gets too hot/overworked. i just flipped the switch back and its good as new.
i ordered a vitamix last night as a substitute.... darn ;)

I'm glad that its that easy to resolve!
I broke some pieces (plastic) while I was trying to make almond butter. I know there are a gazillion threads about making almond butter on this site, and I've used my food processor, vitamix, and omega 8001, and had the best luck with the omega, but it took forever, and then the pieces broke....I'm obviously doing something wrong....I ended up buying raw almond butter yesterday just to have some...I just can't seem to make it, and I'm beginning to accept that.
Do you do nut butters in your Omega?
I need to order replacement pieces now which is just frustrating!

I use my juicer once a day. I use my vitamix usually at least 3 times a day. You will love having a vitamix around for SO MUCH MORE than juicing.
