What are your favorite foods, recipes, or smoothies, that you could and would eat every day and never tire of?

I have to say at this point in time Number one is Orange Juice.

I drink it every day and never tire of it.

Second would be black greek olives

and third is those wonderful pesto stuffed mushrooms right in Alissa's book.
YUMMY!

I *thought* it was bananas and almond butter...til one day I tired of it.

But as of now, it seems to be raw oatmeal! I eat it everyday, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day! :D

Heather Lynn,

You made me laugh right out loud, you crazy girl you.

Yes, I don't care for avocados, who knows why, my hubby loves them, he bought 5 for $1.00 the other day, (Yes, I know this is a fantastic price, we have a farmer's market in town) and he came home and ate all of them in one sitting, without anything on them, I kept going "ewwwe", and "ick" and asking him what it was, and "are you REALLLLYY going to eat that stuff" and he just laughed and hugged me, and said, "YES" it caused us both to giggle and laugh as he started eating this mass of green stuff in a bowl.

Later, I asked him if he enjoyed his avocadoes, and he said, "almost as much as I enjoyed your comments while I was eating them." as he smiled at me sweetly.

So, I do know that there are actual living REAL people out there who do like these things. :o)

Oh, and almonds! How could I forget! I actually cut down on how much I buy because I would eat them every day, all day long!

RP-I'm with you on the avocados. I keep trying, keep hating. Using a tiny bit as a spread is the only way I can eat them.

Apparently nothing since I've tired of everything, though a fresh navel orange is probably the closest to being on that list. ;)

MANGOS!!!
I could eat them everyday definately.

Cherries (i can eat them all day)
raw pistachio's...very addictive.
avocado, cucumber, tomato salad with a liitle apple cider vinager and agave mixed together as dressing.

ok, one thing I have noticed that was not on
people's list was spirilina, LOL.
That is my gag! I know it's good for me, but it still makes
me gag. I still try to stomach it, and feel good after I have
some, but not a delightful experience for me.

Texicalian,

Yes, the Marionberries, in full ripeness.

We have a huge blackberry grove across from our home, in a meadow, it is enormous, could never pick it all, me and all the neighbors go out and pick boxes and boxes, and eat and eat and still have baggies and baggies to freeze or make into fruit leather.

And they are all free, they grow wild, with no help from us, in fact we have to cut them back so we can get up our road.

they are everywhere, why not just move on back here, and have some?

But those are ripe in August, right now we have to satisfy ourselves with our strawberries, ripe luscious, ambrosia of the Goddess, plump juicy sweet, succulent, mouthwatering little delights, well, not little some you couldn't put in your mouth, you'd have to bite them like an apple.

We pick about 2 gallons a day, and make fruit leather, because we just can't eat them as fast as they grow, we allow all of our neighbors and friends to pick for free, and we still have bunches left.

So, come on over, and pick some and let your feet play in the lake, and sit on the dock and just have a grand day of it.

RP - sounds grand! Fortunately, I can get them at the local farmers market here in Chico. I'd like to take a trip up to Oregon in August, just may have to go even further North! Strawberries the size of apples?! OMG!

Texicalian,

Let me clarify my previous statement.

The strawberries are not as big as apples, but you can't put one in your mouth, you do need to take a few bites of them.

Hope this helps, they are about the size of apricots, or italian prunes, bigger than a gold ball, smaller than a bread box. LOL

Didn't want any one to think I was exagerating, now.

My mother used to say, "I've told you a MILLION times NEVER to exagerate." then she'd walk away, turn and smile and "see" if I "GOT" it.

Gotta' love her, she was a fun person, and a kick in the pants.

Yep, I'm with you there ..... it is a big let down when your mouth is watering for that watermelon, and after cutting it open, it's not sweet or overripe etc.

watermelon is one thing I would never tire of, and cherries and apples .....

This morning, I had a bowl of red raspberries, whilte raspberries and blackberries. Besides being beautiful with all the colors, it tasted so YUMMY! I had never had white raspberries before - they taste like roses to me. I think I've found the new summer breakfast food.

YES, FREE blackberries everywhere, people chop down the bushes, as they take over everything.

And just to let you know. Roses came from Raspberries, that is why the wild roses look so much like raspberries.

Marion berries, and blackberries, and raspberries, and salmon berries all come from the raspberry plant.

Now that is why deep red roses smell like raspberries.

Roses originally had only 5 petals, and all the varieties have been hybred to make the gorgeous colorful, huge beautiful roses we see today.

We used to pick blackberries in the country (about 1/4 mile from our own place there). They grew inside, on and outside this farmer's fence and he didn't care who took them (we checked first to see if the outside ones were his- not technically, but we wanted to ask anyway.) So for a few years we picked to our hearts' content. Last year he plowed all of them down! :( However, we also have our own in our backyard, so all is not lost, but getting all those free wild ones was awesome while it lasted!
