Butternut crunch ice cream??

Does anyone have the recipe? I think that's what it is called.

I remember it from a while ago and I think it was just bananas with chopped walnuts and vanilla?

I'm having a craving for it tonight so if anyone know I'd hugely appreciate it. I tried a search but I'm not finding it.

Oh my gracious, that sounds good. I don't know, but maybe if you add some yacon syrup or agave with honey, walnuts and frozen bananas?

Yeah, I remember it being super easy and absolutely YUMMY!

I think it was as simple as frozen bananas, a tad of vanilla and then chop nuts and mix it in. It tasted just like butternut crunch, but it's been so long I can't remember if it was almonds or walnuts.

I must have some for American Idol tonight. LOL

Aw I'm jealous! I'm following American Idol for once, but I teach a class on Tuesday nights. I'll just have to watch the good parts on youtube!!

I'm thinking about having some of this RIGHT NOW, but the only nuts I have in the house at the moment are pine nuts. That sounds good enough for me! :)

Now look what you did to me! I just stopped what I was doing to make ice cream!!

I had frozen bananas, vanilla, cacao nibs, agave, pine nuts and a touch of cinnamon.

Mmmmm. It really hit the spot. I wish I had pecans or walnuts, though. Double mmm.

Oh yeah, and I put a little bit of almond butter in there too!

At first I thought "ew... butternut squash ice cream!?" but from reading the messages I assume the "butternut" is not referring to the squash? If not, what does it refer to? Is it a sort of SAD ice cream I don't know about?

Yes, butternut crunch is a SAD ice cream. There was a recipe around here somewhere a long time ago for it. Actually, it might have been called maple walnut now that I think of it?!?! I can't remember now. But I have frozen bananas, walnuts and I guess I'll add some vanilla and cinnamon. That sounds awesome Eva!

Mmmmmm cocoa nibs.........I gotta get some of those.

Would you be referring to the Butter Pecan ice cream recipe that was on here a long while back or something different? Just in case, this is from an old post (sorry those who need exact amounts...the person who posted it didn't give exact measurements but it's almost fail-proof!):

Butter pecan ice cream

A couple of frozen bananas, a generous dollop of raw honey, vanilla extract, a big pinch of salt. Toss it all in the food processor and process until smooth (add a tiny bit of warm water to help blend if needed.) Then add the pecans and pulse chop them, not finely ground if you like chunks in your ice cream like I do. That's it. It's divine.

Yes, that's the one! Although I don't like pecans so I replaced it with walnuts which is probably why I didn't remember the correct name.

Yes, Rawkinlocs was right....but I used maple syrup, pecans and frozen bananas...tasted just like butter pecan to me!!!:D OK...the trip to the grocery store today will probably provide me with the maple syrup to make this....ummm.....TODAY!!


You just gotta love raw eatin' it's fun, tasty, healthy, and you just don't feel the guilt eatin' whatever you want!!

Add a pinch of sea salt at the end..makes a huge difference.the sweet and salty mix of butter pecan!!!
