View Full Version : Are my sprouted lentils still ok

They've been sprouting a couple of days....all of a sudden, I'm afraid I let them go TOOOO long. How do I know?

Wendi...Hi! What do they look like? do they smell funny? have you been rinsing daily [I do mine 2ce daily]...they should be fine..unless they smell bad, look bad, etc......

Taste! I've let mine go until they have little leaves on them. As long as you were rinsing and drying them properly and they taste good to you, they are fine.

OK I just tried sprouting chickpeas and they were so gross.. Now I am nervous about sprouting lentils!! Will it be the same experience, I wonder?

lentils are the easiest to sprout! I love sprouted lentils in my salad.

With ANY sprouts, rinse, rinse, rinse. Can't rinse 'em enough! RINSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK got it: rinse! I will try lentils next so I can make the bbq 'chicken fingers' from Alissa's book.
