I used to love bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and in fact made a raw version with raw bread, but I'm wondering if there are any raw recipes that would be good with balsamic vinegar.

I assume the stuff isn't raw as I've never seen it in a raw recipe (though many raw recipes use non raw ingredients in small amounts), but I bought an expensive bottle of the stuff a week ago or so and don't know what do to with it. I guess it's good on salads but I rarely eat salads, I may start making some more often though.

Thanks

Actually I have seen LOTS of recipes with it. Use it sparingly in salads with just oil salt pepper and raw garlic or on tomatoes with olive oil and basil and marinated onions. Also you can dip raw breads into it lke you did before!

There are also more creative things you can do with it, if you have Charlie Trotter and Roxanne Klein's book RAW, there are many recipes where they use it, at least a splash of it. Be creative and let us know what you come up with.

i love my balsamic vinegar. i use it to marinate veggies. mmm yummy!

when i go to restaurants i ask for a raw veggie stir fry with romaine instead of rice... and some balasamic and olive oil. i dip my veggies in the balsamic and oil... very good!

Wow, what a coincidence, especially since I just posted this barely hours ago! What had you searched for?

great question!! this link came up when i googled it
http://hacresreg.com/forums/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1366

it is a religious board, but this short post is informative. i got the answer in the first few entries......though i don't want to be a party poop here! haha

anyway, if you are concerned and are 100% raw there's the info....many people are a little more flexible than I, and use non-raw products in small amounts. so to each their own.....thanks for prompting me to find the answer either way : )
