I have been looking around the web and some people say buy the sprouting seeds others say regular seeds will also work. What do most of you do? I don't have a lot of money to invest in all of this and so if regular seeds will do then that is what I may have to do for now.

I am slowly making transitions in my life. I am loving most of this. I still find myself craving things and unfortunatley Girl Scout cookies ordered awhile ago just got here yesterday.

I would love to be able to buy Alissia's book but can't afford to right now. So I appreciate all the help.

you mean those used for planting. Sometimes those are treated with fungacides or other chemicals. Seeds for eating shouldn't be treated with anything and should be sproutable. Most notably wheat, rye, quinoa, etc. Some seeds you can only get through sprouting places - like alfalfa.

So I would say, as long as the seeds are destined for food consumption, try a small batch and see if they sprout OK.
