I found this on another forum.

Storm rawks.

I had no idea Arnold looks like this now. Geez. It's probably a paparazzi shot, but stilll....wow.

This is inspiring me to stay raw for sure. I want to keep my muscles tone and well defined as I get 'younger'.

Before you send the pictures out...I just saw Arnold last weekend - infact I had my picture taken with him - he looks NOTHING like what that pictures shows!!! He is in TREMENDOUS shape - and talk about an absolutely beautiful appearance!! You should see his skin!!! When asked what he eats he stated that each morning he has a glass of celery and carrolt juice before his 60 minutes of cardio. After that he eats fruits and vegetables through out the day - he was truly an inspiration to meet and talk to!!

I was gonna bite my tongue on this and not say anything but I can't do it...I gotta say it.

Firstly, to Crystalsgoneraw...this is not in anyway directed at you as the poster...I am NOT "shooting the messenger" here so please don't take it as such.

But this all feels very judgmental to me and personally, I don't particularly care for this kind of thing...putting others down to boost up something/someone else.

The way I see it, not too long ago a couple of well-known, beloved raw food leaders (and I won't name names here but anyone who's been on RFT long enough should know of whom I speak from past discussions) were "under fire" so-to-speak for not physically being the "epitome" of raw health because they were seen as overweight or not super toned up, etc.

When that occurred, 'the stuff was ON' (as my great-grandma used to say which basically means the same as saying, "the stuff hit the fan") with folks coming to the defense of those scrutinized raw food leaders and why they may or may not have been as physically fit as many felt they should be. So, now the tables have turned and it's quite alright to critique the physique of someone who is not a raw fooder or raw food leader (as far as we know 'cause we don't know what Arnold eats or does not eat currently).

I don't feel it's right because, yes, it very well COULD be Photoshop at work here. I mean, it wouldn't be uncommon or unheard of...there are some VERY talented people out there who can take your photo or mine and doctor it up to look totally different or take a headshot and put it on another body and make it look flawlessly like it was our very own body. Just think of all the celebrities who have been photoshopped onto some obscene porn image or something.

Also, Storm (as far as I know) STILL works out to this day...perhaps Arnold did let himself go in that capacity but who's to say that a raw fooder who body builds for years and then stops won't get some flab or not look as hot as they did when they were adamantly working out.

One other point...yes, the stress of politics wears very heavily on people. A great example is our former President Bill Clinton...by the time he left office he looked like he had aged about 10 years if not more from when he first got into office.

But again, we do not know for sure if the originator of that photo (and I've seen that picture of Arnold before about a year or two ago) got it on the up and up or if it's been altered. I'm sure Storm and Jinjee probably got it from somewhere and just decided to use it to prove a point...but is it real? Do we REALLY know?

So, I guess my point in all this rambling is...judge not lest ye be judged. Not every raw fooder looks like Storm and not every SAD (or cooked food, period) eater looks like the alleged current photo of Arnold.

I am in total advocacy of raw and getting the message out there...but I just do not feel that any and all methods of doing so have to be used and this comparison thing is one of them. It's one thing to do comparisons of ones self for example...a before shot of a body builder when he ate cooked and then a shot of the same person who now body builds on raw...but using other people...I don't know if that's all too kosher...at least IMHO and that's all this is, MY opinion.

Rawkinlocs, no offense taken by me and your points on passing judgement are heard and understood. Am I judging Arnold? I'm not completely cerrtain to be honest and I probably was in my later notes in this thread. But I do know I was not putting him down by posting the link and it was not my intention. I felt it was good photo to demonstrate how powerful raw is and I suppose we will all have our own opinions on strong subject matter, especially when it comes to powerful celebrities. Judgement is a fine line and there is even some judgement in your response actually. We're all guilty of it.

Hey Crystal...this is precisely why I started out saying this was not directed at you because I had a feeling...a hunch, if you will, that you were gonna take it as such when I'm actually moreso directing my post at whoever put that photo out there in the first place and then did the comparison-thing. But you're right, judgment is a very fine line and yes, there probably was some to be detected even in my post about judgment...I concur. But again, I'm expressing my opinion along with all others here...'tis all! ;)

Oh...and for the record, celebrities don't mean much to me as far as being a celebrity goes...even if he were "Joe-Schmoe" from 'round the block...I'd still feel the same. I'm not even a big fan of Arnold, I'm just expressing my view of this whole thing...could have been anyone.

But again, my mind still goes back to what I said about the recent discussions about a couple of raw food leaders and how they were scrutinized for not being physically the epitome of raw health and the raw lifestyle! In fact, I had a similar reaction in defense of THOSE individuals when THEY were being "judged". I just know that that little thing called karma or the concept behind it...it ain't no joke! I'm just a cautious person when it comes to certain things.

rock on crystal! you're great. thanks for voicing your opinions. . . it's all in the eye of the beholder on how we chose to look at certain situations.

it's interesting..... imagine if you used a different person for a before and after body builders picture.... i doubt the same responses would have been had. the fact is you can pick any heavy meat eater and they look the same at 60... I like you am glad to hear arnold cleaning up his diet. :D :D

Ok, I must admit that it was my nasty EGO making the comment about Ahnold(that's what I will always call him). I actually know him. My cousin is married to his former stunt man' s cousin , who was Ahnold's best man in his wedding. I actually attended his wedding and he is a very nice man! I cannot stress this enough! But this photo is not touched up folk's. I saw him a few years ago and he was looking worn down. I have not heard much about him since the last time I saw him. Let's hope he is making some positive changes in his well being! Sorry for sounding so full of the nasty EGO! Fifty lashes with a dehydrated kelp noodle for me! {{HUGS)) Lynn

I met Storm and Jinjee 3 years ago, right after she'd had the latest child. I saw him again on new year's day. He looks better now than he did then. He just keeps looking younger and younger. Jinjee maintains her youth-filled appearance.

oh, goodness gracious. It doesn't matter if someone is a celebrity-they are a human being first. and there are effects of good health that are easy to see. Why is it considered prejudice to objectively observe the effects of good or ill health? How come its "politically incorrect" to point out the effects of lifestyle choices that result in physical degeneration? if we were scientists, we wouldn't be called judgmental-we'd be called people using "empirical evidence." The judgment is in the determination of the beholder. "What is" is the physical expression. "What we make it mean" comes only from between our two ears...ya know what I mean? :D

My first thought on seeing that was what if someone had posted that of me? I would feel so terrible about my self image and so violated. We can't just change from SAD to raw. There is another aspect of our American food culture we need to change. And that is comparing people by their body shape or aging process. It sends the wrong message to young people and then they are at risk of eating disorders.

I had to read more into the two men pictured above after seeing them. One article I found on Schwarzennegger's health from a newspaper in 2006:

http://cbs13.com/local/Arnold.Schwarzenegger.Broken.2.474873.html

If we assume that this photo was not photoshop altered: Apparently he is now over 60 years old. Some reasons for declining health might include: he had open heart surgery and had to decrease his workouts after that, he also had a number of wear-tear type injuries from all the weight lifting and stunts and also a motorcycle crash in the past. I wonder if his work-related stress in life is also higher than Storm's? Just because he is in the public eye as a former actor and political leader. That also wears you down sooner. He also used steroids before they became illegal.

I also wanted to suggest that it is harder for Storm to have "bad day" pictures taken of him. He is not as likely to be stalked by paparrazi and so he can arrange for photos to be taken of him and posted on the days he is looking and feeling his best. We all have days where we look and feel great and others where we do not want to go near a camera. We could easily post a worse one of Storm and a better one of Arnold. The differences might now be so pronounced then.

But then again, I definitely agree that more raw food will slow down the aging process because of all the antioxidants you get.

At the long link above, we see a picture of him in a speedo archived last year and one of him in a hospital bed in Jan 2007, where he looks quite buff- remarkable to me for someone in his late 50s having had a ski injury.

These last 2 pictures try to make my points of photos on a bad day: One of Storm with a bit of a tummy (the same page explains he is reshaping his body to a lower weight and muscle mass at age 57) and one of Arnold, released officially from his Governor's office of him in hospital in 2007, the year he turned 60.
