I just want to say I'm on day 6 of the MC. I got very inspired by Crystal (thank you Crystal!!!!) I feel great, no hunger, lots of energy, even though my last 2 days have been very incomfortable, my back and hips are killing me, I know it is the detox. I know I can do 30 or 40 days but my problem is I already lost 4 pounds and I only weight 120 pounds to begin with. I can not afford to loose more. I don't like to be too skinny. what to do?? any sugestion???
thank you!!!

Hi cruda! congrats on day 6! i did the cleanse for a bit about a month ago. The only thing i remember them saying about how not to lose weight is to ingest more of the maple syrup and make sure to drink a lot of the mixture. at the same time, adding all the extra sugar would seem to me that it would impair a bit of the actual detox and cleanse. But then i don't really know the facts behind it.

how many days did you want to go before the concern with weight loss? cause you can and will gain most of the weight back. If you're really feeling good on the cleanse and want to do an extended one just ask yourself if being too skinny for a month is worth all the beneficial effects from an longer fast? in the end a little scrutiny from friends and family might be okay if your giving your body what it wants. Bu ti have no idea of your situation, so all i can say is... Remember to do what feels right and you'll have the answer you need.

Hi Mina! Awww thank you...and congratulations on being on Day 6. This is great.

From what I've read in a few MC books and from my own experience with losing weight on the MC, your body will balance itself out when you resume eating solid foods post cleanse. Remember if you do drop a lot of weight it's the detox weight, it's all the fat and toxins and other junk that is in your cells and colon. It helps to exercise somewhat to maintain your muscle tone, but don't overdo it with very strenuous exercise. Yoga is great. Walking is great. Stretching is great. Meditation is great. Detox baths and saunas are heavenly. They not only help with detox, they help your muscles stay tone and your metabolism level in my experience. Not sure if this is scientifically credible, but I found it to be true for myself and with my body.

If you are very concerned about dropping too much weight, you can make sure you get in 8-12 drinks per day with the full 2 tbs of maple syrup added to each drink. It was hard for me to get even 6 drinks in towards the end, but I'm a smaller build anyway, 5'2, and I generally don't eat that much food. It depends on your weight, height, digestive system, how toxic you are...all of it. I lost 50 lbs over the past year doing cleanses and eating raw foods. I lost about 10 more pounds than I wanted during the last 40 day cleanse and I've gained 5 of those back. I feel good where I am now...I was a little too thin and didn't recognize myself in the mirror.

I wouldn't worry too much about losing weight, focus on the cleansing aspect. And just like with raw foods detox, you may just be finding your true, authentic body in this process. It could be smaller than you think it is.

Best wishes,
Crystal

ps edit: And I suggest to stop weighing yourself. Wait until you're done, it will give you peace of mind.
Take your measurements instead - hips, thighs, waist, bust, etc. This will give you a truer indication of where you
are anyway. Because our bodies fluctuate daily with water retention, fat, muscle stores etc. If you're weighing
yourself often that's not really giving you an accurate picture. It's also good to find out what your body mass index (BMI) is.

hey thanks you ladies so much for your answer and support!!!!
NoniPixie I want to do at least 30 days and I know I can do it. I have no craving of any sort and I really want to clean my system even though I have been raw for a while, more than a year, so 120 pound for me it is just enough. If I'm going to gain it back well that's ok then and I really don't care what friends and family are going to say, they are all eating SAD food with a lots of health problems .
Crystal, you are right I should not weight myself at all because is not about losing weight it is about cleansing. I tried to put two Tbs of syrup but I find it too sweet so I only put one and I drink 6-8 glasses a day and senna tea one at night and one first thing in the morning. I do like cayenne so I put more. like I said I'm 120 pound and 5'4 tall. I'm going to do the 30 day fast because I can see the detox is working. My tongue is coated white, my bones are aching by back my lungs hurt, going to the bathroom constantly, but at the same time I feel great!!! So I will GO FOR IT!!!!!.
THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION!!!!!

Mina, I couldn't handle 2 tbs of the syrup either...much too sweet for me. I simply used 1 tbs which will tend to make you lose more weight I think, but it will come back.

Wishing you well....
