Do any of you who juice leafy greens get a lot of foam?

Do you consume it or skim it and dump it?

Sometimes I'll see a bit of foam on top, depending on what I'm juicing. I just mix it in and drink up :)

You could strain the juice if you prefer.

Thank you Blaqberry and spicyfull

I wonder why you get only a little, blaqberry? I get a lot! Maybe my juicer isn't set right? I juice a lot of greens, but I get about 1 1/2 C of foam, which can be thick. That's too much, in my opinion.

Right now, I'm using an older Omega. It's the 8001 model (http://www.discountjuicers.com/omega8001.html)which is no longer made. It has that same white cap on the end of the extractor mechanism. I wonder if I have it set wrong? Does anyone have this style, maybe the 8002 which is basically the same?
What is yours set?

It has "0" "1" or "2" setting. I assumed it sets the level for what type of food to juice and/or how fine the result.
I have tried all three, but the difference in the juice is not too noticeable.
I never get clear juice. It always is thick, which isn't a bad thing, necessarily, but not really what I want when I use it.

Maybe I just need a new one. I don't want to get a new one, however, if this one is perfectly fine, and all it needs is adjusting.

Anyone have a similar model?

Thank you.

I just suck it off the top. :D

Actually, I get very little foam yet, when I did....

Wow, that's quite a bit of foam :( Regretfully, I don't have any helpful tips for that particular model. We use a Champion. I hope any who can be of some assistance will see this post and chime in.

I haven't juiced any other greens yet, but celery (in my Jack LaLane juicer) gives a foamy "head" on top of my juices. I rather don't like the foam, but love the juice (very hydrating). What I tend to do is "swirl" the drink after every few sips to deminish the foam. Hope this helps.:)

I got a Greenstar and I've heard two different tips. One was to put the gears into the fridge or was it freezer over night. The other one was to drizzle a little oil like hemp oil into it while you're juicing. I sometimes wait awhile to let the foam settle down, as I really don't like the texture.

I have an Omego 8001.
I haven't used it to juice greens (I just throw those in a smoothie), but I've used it for carrots, oranges, cucumbers kind of stuff. Sometimes I run it through the mesh screen before I drink it, but I haven't seen as much foam as you've mentioned.

Though I can't seem to do anything with this product but make juice, I broke it trying to make almond butter....oh well.........
