View Full Version : Leftover water from Almond Mylk??

Can I still use the water that I soaked the almonds in for my almond mylk or should I use fresh water instead? I only soak the almonds overnight so I wouldn't be concerned about rancid water but I'm wondering if any enzyme inhibitor run off would be in the water.

I've always heard that almond soak water should be tossed out. Can't quite remember the reason why, but I've seen it mentioned on here quite a few times when asked about.

Throw it out and rinse the almonds, then store in the fridge in fresh water. Yes, the enzyme inhibitors are in the water to my knowledge~
