Hi,

I just started trying to incorporate more raw foods into my diet. I started off the morning with a nice green smoothie then had an immediate craving for a big blueberry muffin. I also have cravings throughout the day for something crunchy to munch on.

Do you have any suggestions for getting past these major cravings? Do they pass?

Thanks!

1 - they pass. or everyone is going to tell you they pass. most of my cravings have passed, except for chocolate. & ive found some chocolate replacements.
2 - i supplement all my cravings with bananas. perfect-food.
3 - if you want something crunchy, eat crunchy vegetables. or nuts, in moderation. nuts usually produce a binge-reflex in me, i dont know. i like sunflower seeds a lot, & can take them in moderation.

Aloha and Welcome to RFT!! CRAVINGS.... they come and go... howz about a nice cold piece of cruchy fruit in the morning? Or maybe a slice of apple drizzled with agave or a some fruit or celery with some almond butter... yummmm.... almond butter is great with baby carrots too... only - those are addictive and be careful you don't eat too many!
the first time I had baby carrots in almond butter - I major over did it -- and ended up not eating another baby carrot for like 5 months... ugggg!!! :D

Welcome to the group, it's nice to have you join us!!!!:D

Well, I say green smoothies help with cravings, so keep drinking those! And yep, they do pass. The only time they creep up on me is when I'm fasting. Day to day, I don't have them anymore. Hopefully the same will hold true for you. I went 100%- If you eat any portion of your diet as cooked though, the cravings will linger.

Ditto to the green smoothie suggestion-- a huge help with cravings in my experience-- they also fill you up with no calories involved! Also, I like to de-construct my cravings-- are they for ice cream or for something sweet and cold? I'll throw some frozen blueberries and frozen bananas in the blender along with agave and almond mylk.Or maybe it's the texture I crave-- Alissa's banana/papaya pudding is phenomenal when I want something smooth, comforting and pudding-like! The trick is to be well-stocked so you can throw something together in a hurry.
