OMG I have been craving cooked junk food for about 2hours and counting.
Today is day 30 of my 30 day challange and day 48 raw. whoopie! This craving is like worst than cigarette cravings for me in this moment. I want to make some kinda raw food that will help curve the craving but seriously do not trust myself to leave the house and I need ingredients :( . Just looking for some support.

Hey -- ride it out ... it'll pass. I know what you mean. Do you have any dates? Any almond butter? What are you craving? Crunchy? You're so great with knowing that you shouldn't go out of the house or you'll give in.

Yeah, I have dates but stop eating fruits and sweets for a few weeks. I'm embrassed to say what I'm craving because it's not even vegan, healthy or anything like that. I searched for some recipes that might help me but I need ingredients, like I said. But you know since I stopped eating fruit I find most things contain nuts nuts and more nuts and I get alittle concerned about this high nut intake. Still better than cooked, I'll try some almond butter on celery. Thanks for your support, RawTruth.

Congratulations! You'll make it through the night. If it's support you want, you've got it!

But if you'd like some suggestions for raw food that might satisfy just ask.

Just tonight I had a serious hankerings myself. I generally just get busy in the kitchen when that happens, sometimes I find something that works and sometimes I just tucker myself out trying new recipes. This evening I made some fudge that hit the spot. It was an easy guess since I'm on the big P. :)

Hang on, you'll make it through.

What I do is try to make it a fun challenge--that takes it out of the panic mode for me. I challenge myself to figure out what I'm craving and then challenge myself to make the raw equivalent. For me it typically is a sweet/salty taste--nuts mixed with a little agave then a bit of sea salt works, or some of my homemade granola with a little sea salt. My other major strong craving is usually for chocolate, at certain times of the month of course--then the raw carob, coconut butter and agave 'chocolate' gets made!

'til later,
Jillian

Hi, are you craving a taste? or a texture? or a temperature?

I usually have temperature cravings, usually I want something hot and maybe chewy, or ice cold and smooth, or I want somthing warm and sweet.

sometimes you can figure out what you are craving and it realy isn't the food itself.

I used to crave spaghetti, and so I would make raw spaghetti with zucchini noodles and marinara sauce, but that just didn't cut it for me.

so, I did some meditating and realized that I wanted something tomatoey, but hot and spicy, so I added some jalepenos and it did the trick, also I warmed it in the dehydrator that really helped.

when I want something smooth and creamy, I can make a pine nut pudding, soooo easy, just pine nuts and dates in the Vita Mix, and then if I want it cool, or cold, in the fridge it goes.

Or sometimes I think I want coffe, but what I want is a warm mug to hold, so I warm some water and make fresh mint tea or camomile out of the yard.

If I want warm and chewy it is enchiladas or nachos for me, all raw of course.

So, first decide what texture and temperature you are craving, then you might try is it spicy? or salty? or sour? etc.

hope this helps, it often helps me when I want "something" but not sure what it is.

blessings,
Raw Priestess

Buffalo wings. So I guess thats spicy and kinda sweet. I can see I'm going to have to leave the house to get some things to try to make something.
You cracked me up with the tucker yourself out bit, PixieGreen. I get what you mean though. I'm thinking of making the onion rings with a barbeque sauce. Thank all of you for the support. I really thought about not posting this so I could sneek off and eat them but I'm glad I did.

I've seen a recipe for raw buffalo wings w/ bbq sauce! Was it in Alissa's book? [scratching head] Try to do a search of the forum for the reference.

Rawpriestess wow what a profound reply. You hit the nail right on the head. I was trying to figure out what the craving was I was having yesterday and I really found your answer today right on target. I will try to examine things from this perspective next time I hit the wall. Thanks
