Hi everyone,

Im not new to raw or to this forum but it's been a while so I decided to sign up with a new username. I'm starting off fresh and ready to feel RAWsome again.

Last time I went raw I released 35 lbs in just under three months and still had another 30 to go. I felt fantastic and full of energy.

For reasons I can't explain, simply because I don't know, I started eating cooked foods again. Then I even started eating meat again.....yuck! I had been a vegetarian for four years when I started raw so I have no idea why I fell off the wagon so bad to where I started eating meat.

So fast forward to now, almost two years later and I've gained back the 35 lbs I lost plus another 24lbs. Omigosh, even looking at that as I right it makes me nauseas.

How could I have let this happen?

Well, none of that matters now because I'm back and ready to make this commitment of a healthier life.

I'm on day 3 now and I'm excited to re-learn everything that I've forgotten. And I'm ready to meet you all and learn from you as well.

Here's to new friendships, a new body and a new way of living.

:D

Welcome back! I was on the board 2 yrs ago, quit raw in May 06, and here I am back (since January).
I just wrote this in another post, but it's really true, cooked food is an addiction, as Boutenko says in "Green for Life". I'd highly recommend that book, btw, it's amazing! But anyway, it's an addiction we've grown with since we were in the womb, and if you think of someone smoking since birth, it's the same sort of thing. A HUGE deal to give up and change habits. It's hard. We all know it's best for us, we know cooked food causes all sorts of ailments, but yet we constantly find ourselves back to cooked foods. I don't know that it'll ever be an easy thing for any of us. But this board is full of such amazing people who know they're trying and we're all doing it as best we can. :)
It takes courage to try again; it's great that you're back!

are you alissa's campaign manager? i ask with plenty of love; almost all the responses i've read from you are in promotion of alissa's book.

Yes I had the book last time around. As a matter of fact, it's Alissa's website that I had come across that made me decide to go raw to begin with.

I had been a vegetarian for years and was still overweight and felt generally crappy all the time. So I started surfing the web and found all this info about being this crazy thing called a "raw fooder". So I surfed and surfed and surfed and came across her site and decided that is what I wanted to do.

I did fantastic for a while and kept up about 95% raw for just over a year. I guess I just got too comfy and gradually reverted back before I knew it.

I didn't have the DVD then but now I do, I just haven't watched it yet. I will do that for sure, I bet it will help a lot.

Thanks for the welcome back.
