It's become evident that I cannot eat nuts and seeds. I love nuts.. one of my favorite foods and most addicting, but I cannot eat them. They make me itch, are indigestable (give me stomach aches and take forever to digest), addictive, and cause me to get pimples... And I haven't had any problems with breakouts since my teenage hormonal days:rolleyes:
Other things that make me itch are sunflower seeds, avacado and coconut, though I still eat avacado anyway (with avacado it isn't my skin that itches, but I get immediate itching sensations in my throat:eek:) .

I'm having huge troubles with blood sugar levels being raw. I get these sugary cravings and last night... I just went haywire. Like a zombie I binged so bad until my stomach was in pain.... this isn't right. I need to find a way to ground myself without meat.... And I'm allergic to so many options! HELPPPP!!!! If someone who has the same problem could post what they do/eat w/ success I'd really appreciate it

were you allergic to them before you went raw? it may be your body transitioning.

i know that when my body is cleansing... my skin gets very itchy. it's one of my own personal signs that something is being released (by my skin).

when you get sugar cravings... have a piece of fruit or a raw dessert. it'll handle those cravings for ya. i know it does for me! mmm goji berry truffles... mmmm

Hey Zig Zag, I'm not saying this is necessarily true for you. But speaking for myself many of the foods I couldn't eat prior to going raw give me no problems now. I'll add when I began focusing my healing energy on healing my colon, liver, pancreas, adrenal glands, meditating, working with body workers, all of it...my digestive system began to heal and I no longer have problems digesting certain foods I couldn't even get near. Like some nuts, some vegetables etc. It could just be that you need to heal your digestive system and cleanse your colon. You would be surprised just how much this impacts how you digest your food and what you can eat. And it usually also wipes out any allergic reactions to foods I've noticed. I can eat pretty much anything I want now and I used to break in rashes with many different types of foods. I was and still am very sensitive with my blood sugar levels, which are continuing to heal. I'm really find that eating a 90% greens diet and blended vegetable soups are really helping me.

I've cleansed and fasted for many months in the past year and now I'm doing really well. I really believe in fasting to heal the body, although I know it's not for everyone. Some can do this with just raw foods, but I was very toxic and I needed to heal on a deeper level.

Have you fasted before? Have you started targeting your digestive system, colon or liver to heal? Just wanted to ask without making assumptions.

Best wishes!

I think what you need is green vegetable juices or green smoothies. Green minerals and green fiber can help a lot with cravings and with blood sugar issues. Your liver can not handle the fatty foods at this time. Don't worry, let your body tell you what it wants. If it can not handle fats, then don't give it fats just now. Fruits and vegetables juices are wonderful foods for the liver, I guess you need to increase your intake of greens, especially green leafy vegetables.

Hey, yes, I was allergic to them prior to raw. I used to have even more severe reactions, but in recent months found that I could start incorporating them in my diet again if I was very cautious and frugal in terms of amounts. But that never happens. They're like a drug for me... not good:/ Unfortunately fruits (and nuts), raw desserts etc. etc. only aggravate my cravings:/ Viscious cycle... My mother, though very health conscious and educated in alternative medicine, has a myriad of allergies, eczema, a fickle immune system, and was diagnosed with candida in her 20s. She avoids all sugar as though it were the plague... Her mother has a myriad of health problems, as well. I DEFINATELY think that eating raw and strengthening your immune system, coupled with the power of thought and conviction can really heal the body and allow for things it was once sensitive to, but perhaps genetics are involved to a certain degree? Don't know, but rightnow my body's still super sensitive, apparantly:(

I definately think what you say has a point:) Just the fact that some days I don't get itchy whereas others I do speaks for itself... I always get stomach problems from eating nuts, though, that's never a question hehe. The stronger the immune system is, the better it should be able to handle natural foods:) But part of the problem is that nuts/seeds, and the nut/fruit combination for me is like a drug. The more I eat them, the more I crave them, and it's almost always impossible for the me to curtail the amount to which I eat them.. I know that right now, while i"m OUT of balance and in need of a bit of purification and balancing, nuts are not a good transition food... Unfortunately, they're also a very good transitioning food for grounding, so I'm just trying to find other alternatives:/
I definately think that your advice about high greens is the way to go, its just so hard for me to stay away from the foods I crave (mentally/emotionally, undoubtedly) for more than a couple of days:/ But it makes sense, and I'm sure that if I stuck to a low-sugar, high greens diet for a couple of weeks I'd probably feel very aligned.... I also have problems with blood sugar levels, could you possibly tell me what you eat on a typical day? I'd really, really appreciate that!
I am working to cleanse my colon by taking aloe vera and psyllium husks, and I have been taking probiotics and enzyme tablets as well, though I'm dubious as to whether these last two 'supplements' are having any effect. I have not fasted yet as I would like to be able to do so in a tranquil, hospitable environment whilst on vacation from the stressful schedule of college (in Manhattan). I have been trying to plan something to escape to upstate New York to immerse myself in nature for the spring holiday, though, so perhaps that would be a good time...
Anyway, thank you for the help:)
