Oh I should say what can I eat to get this yucky stuff off of him. I just heard on Good Morning American Green tea will heal the fast reproduction of cells. I jsut made some I will bathe him in it tomorrow morning. Any other remedies for massive cradle cap.

If you're B-feeding, squirt milk on it numerous times a day...also works for eye infections & diaper rash! Breast milk is incredible!

this well known remedy worked great for my daughter's cradle cap:

apply raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar to the scalp with a cotton ball. allow to sit for 10 minutes. then use a (new) soft toothbrush gently massage olive oil into the scalp in little circles, loosening up as much of the dead skin as possible. rinse with warm water.

a few nights of this treatment, and it will be GONE.

One of my kids had this pretty badly. I massaged olive oil into her head and then let her sit in the bath for awhile. After it was nice and warm in the bathroom I took a brush that was like a nail brush and scrubbed in circles. It came off pretty well but I had to do it about three different times because I didn't want her head to get too red. :D She didn't mind though.

cradle cap doesn't bother the baby and isn't harmful except in some very extreme cases so why bother baby's skin scrubbing it off without need? perhaps it's there for a reason, like to protect the delicate scalp (from sun, etc.).

Virgin coconut oil. Eat a few spoons of it a day, rub it on your baby's head. Also, get your omega-3's.

extra virgin coconut oil works like a charm. This cured my 6 months old head in 2 weeks. I massaged it in every night and washed her hair weekly with aveeno

Also refrain from using shampoo or baby wash on baby's scalp. I only used olive oil soap on ds' head, when I had to use soap at all, and his cradle cap was very, very mild and went away quickly. Since then I usually don't even wet his hair.

Hi dogmd,
I just wondered if you might have any suggestions. A friend of mine's young chihuahua (spelling?) has parvo and the vet wanted to charge her 600$ to treat it. She couldn't afford that and went home with an IV bag and rehydrating solution which after the diagnoses cost a total of 100$. I gave her a few pointers on how I saved some puppies once but it's been SEVERAL
