I just was at the doctors for a checkup and I had a blood panel done. I wanted to show what an improvement I've had since going raw.

First test was done in Feb. 2005. I was 170lbs.

Second test was done last Monday. I am 155lbs and four months raw.

12 Hour fasting:
Cholesterol 252
LDL 159
HDL 50
Triglyceride 214
Glucose 224

Cholesterol 187
LDL 120
HDL 42
Triglyceride 122
Glucose 83

My doctor called me to give me the results and she was amazed at how much it improved! I knew it was going to be good because of raw. :) She said "keep up with the diet and exercise - you're doing great!" Thank goodness I didn't take the cholestrol pills she prescribed me two years ago.

This is only with 70% raw and I've still got 25lbs to release.

that is SO great. You must be so happy. This is the kind of stuff people need to see to understand that raw works!! Good for you!

Wow! Congratulations! You must feel so much better! Your glucose level is so much lower. I had elevated blood sugar in the past and I was so tired all the time. It's so cool to get "proof" of what you feel is true.

Congratulations!! Raw works so fast, especially with lipids and glucose. I am glad you didn't take the cholesterol medication too! It doesn't work all that well, and has lots of side effects that are unpleasant!

I'm the only one in my family without high cholesterol levels, and my parents still nag me about my diet every time I visit....oh, well.

that's just fantastic!!!!! Congratulations on the results and being 4 months raw!!!! I changed doctors a few years ago, and when I did I asked her to do a complete blood workup on me. So I think I'll do the same as you and after it's been a few months I'll ask them to do it again and compare!!! What a great thing to look forward to.

On another note I donate blood, or *try* to donate blood. I'm always just low on the iron level and sent packing. Well after about 2.5 weeks raw I tried again... and my iron was great. It has to be 12.5 and mine was 14.something. I was extatic!! And that was after just 2.5 weeks. Imagine how I'm gonna feel when I reach 4 months like you!!!!

Congrats!!! That is SO exciting!
You know, I'm dying for a blood test as well, but I don't know how to have insurance pay for it since there wasn't anything previously wrong with me. Anyone have ideas? I'd love to know my levels of everything, including iron, etc. Can you just request this at the doctor's?
