I just learned about the amazing antioxidant property of cacao have have been eating quite a bit for the last 3 days.. I have just started to break out quite bad now.. this is because of detox via the antioxidants or shall I cut down?
I gerenally eat around 4-5 tbs a day with agave nectar and cashews

i recently started breaking out a bit from the cacao as well. i've been eatin about the same amount as you.... i think it's a combo of things.... but my skin did start getting worse exactly the same time i started eating more cacao. hmmm..... maybe it's cause of the agave and extra nuts i've been eating with all of it. i usually only have those when i eat cacao. hmmmmm.... what are you thinking??

am not sure i was thinking very high antioxidant = faster detox = removal of toxins via skin but am not sure :(

I've noticed the same thing with breakouts and raw cacao. For me, I think it is the cacao or the amount. I eat less than you though. Maybe 1-2 tbs every other day. I don't think it's detox for me because I generally have sensitive skin prone to breakouts and when I did an intense detox retreat for three weeks my skin improved a lot during detox and only one pimple. Now, they seem to be smaller ones, but several of them, so I think it's a reaction to something I'm eating. I've also upped the amount of dried fruits that I'm eating and fats from nuts and oil. So, it could be that too. My body definitely seemed to like the low fat, low sugar diet that I was doing on detox.

You could try and eat just the agave and cashews and see if it is in fact the fat/sugar combo....

yeah could be.. I have been living on low sugar since raw and since I discovered agave nectar well half a bottle has gone in 2 days lol ;)

most likely it is the sugar that causes the sudden change. there are many chemicals in cacao though, and you may be hyper sensitive to it, especially if you are taking a pure, raw form?

yup very raw form
will my body get used to it or will it always break out?

:)
like rasiaca mentioned, you should isolate your foods to see what the exact cause is.
