I made sliced sandwich bread! It looks so amazing! I can't wait to eat it when I go home! I haven't figured out how to post photos on this thing yet, but if you want photos email me and I can send them! This is sooooo cool!

Slice sandwich bread - Alissa's recipe? Is that in the book? I'll have to look it up.

Sounds awesome. I want a picture!

Did sliced bread have nuts in it? I found that most do and too many for my new "leaner" body design. Trying to get down another 18ish. Sure not easy. Thanks.

curious,

...if someone can tell me how to do it that would be great, or I will try to figure it out again!

I put ground walnut (just a pinch) in...I completely made up the recipe as I went along--it was ground flax seed, a little ground walnut, a pinch of ground sesame seeds, and a few sprouts that I had purchased--I will try to post the pics tomorrow!

When you want to post a photo simply click on the button as if you are replying to a post, then scroll down until you see "Additional Options". In that box there will be a gray button that says, "Manage Attachments". Click on that and you will be prompted to "browse" your computer to locate the image you wish to upload...upload the photo and close the box. Then, submit your post (you can type text into the text box if you want) and your picture will show up as a thumbnail that will be enlarged whenever we click on it.

If you have any trouble, let me (or earth_sista) know and we'll help ya out. I can even post them for you if you still have trouble uploading them yourself.

Kaylene-
Your bread looks good; I've really been wanting a veggie sandwich lately. Mainly because of time and my tight budget (since quitting my job)..I tend to eat primarily fresh fruits/veggies/nuts/seeds. You guys really inspire me with all of the recipes and now that my sister has embraced raw living (currently high raw since January) we have decided that we are going to start up a little group (with 3 or 4 other people that have been asking about raw) and start up a group budget account where we each put in $5/$10 dollars a month depending on what we want to make; buy the ingredients and then once a month experiment in the kitchen with some really great recipes like the ones you lovely raw people are always posting:)

Again, that bread looks great! What kind of yummy sandwich are making with it?

The bread looks like rye sliced bread. Yum. Any additional tips would be greatly appreciated with ingredients. Maybe another try will give us that additional wisdom. Thanks for sharing the picture and your recipe too.

amazing! I meant to take a photo of the sandwich...I put avo slices, tomato and sprouts on top and ate it in a few seconds! I am making more tonight, so I will measure everything I do so I can share it! I have been wanting a "sandwich" and this is totally like SAD bread (but healthy!)....YUM!

Ohhh!!! I can't wait until you share the recipe!! I would love to try that! It may help me convince my partner to go more raw! Which would be a miracle!!

I used:
1 cup ground flax seeds
1/2 cup sesame seeds ground
1/2 cup ground walnuts
Handful of Alfalfa sprouts
Spices/Seasoning to taste (I add a little dill, onion and a pinch of basil and garlic powder)

Put all ingredients into a bowl and slowly mix in water until you have a thick paste-dough. Then spread onto a teflex sheet roughly the size and shape of sliced sandwich bread--put into a dehydrator for 6-7 hours, flip over for another 2-3 hours and wa lah! You have four slices of bread! They look, taste and resemble bread--the edges even look like crust a little! I hope you enjoy!

That bread DOES look good. How did you grind your seeds and did you soak any first or anything like that? I only have a vitamix for grinding...so would that work?

I have a cheap little coffee grinder--I don't know a lot about vitamix, but I am sure it would work! I didn't soak first--i usually make this if I want something relatively fast for lunch the next day!

Kaylene,

How many slices of bread did this recipe make?

Thanks!

It makes four slices of bread, that are roughly the size or a little larger than SAD sliced sandwich bread.
