Hi everyone!

First I want to thank you all for this forum. I am reading it almost every day and get so much encouragement and advices from here.

I have one question, I experience that I have had start to hear less. When people are talking to me I sometimes have problem to hear what they are saying but when I listen to music I don’t experience that, I rather like to have it on a low volume. Have anyone had this experience? Is it a deficiency? Or some kind of detox in my ears?

I have had detox before, like sweating a lot (smelling) but it disappeared and now I often have a bad taste in my mouth but I assume it will go away soon.

Any answers or thoughts will be appreciated!!!

Lisa

I've had hearing loss in my right ear since I was a teenager (I think it started because of an accident I was in) anyway, it is not unusual to be able to hear different pitches or tones and not be able to hear other pitches or tones. Also, if you are in a room with alot going on and someone starts talking to you in your hard of hearing ear, you may not hear them....where if there wasn't the noise and commotion going on you would hear them. I haven't heard of this coming on because of deficiency or detox.

You might have a wax buildup from detox - I would go to a doctor and have them look in your ears. If there is a wax buildup, they can safely remove it.

I had bad ear infections from too much wax many years ago and lost some of my hearing because of it. Now, I have to wear hearing aids.

It could be detox but if it is it is probably because you have extra wax in your ear. Extra wax is the bodies way of detoxing out of the ears. If there is no extra wax, I don't think there is any way that detox would cause your hearing to be less and and have it be temporary - that would mean you have some permanent hearing loss.

Hearing loss is funny - you seem like you can't hear voices as well but something music you can hear fine. Also certain rooms or outside is hard to hear because of all the different sounds. It really makes life hard.

Just be careful with your ears - if you have wax don't try to remove it yourself. You can really damage your ears - I didn't take care of mine when I should have and now I have permanent hearing damage.

yeah.... hearing loss sucks. My ears were my biggest problems as a kid... always having one ear infection after the other. Now I have permanent (hopefully not with raw) scaring and subsequent hearing loss. I second the room noise... I know that's a huge problem for me being able to hear ppl talking to me. Also when I walk... noise from behind me comes to me in waves... loud, soft, loud, soft... with each step taken... VERY annoying.
