other rebounder posts have caused me to wonder...

do I really need a name brand, expensive rebounder to get the full health effects - lymphatic, toning, etc.?

I have been using an inexpensive, twenty dollar, model from the sporting goods store for well over a year, quite regularly, and it seems to work just fine.

um, no injuries, no broken parts, no complaints.

am I missing out?

if so, any recommendations? Urban, Needak, etc.

thanks kindly.

ps- what is the difference in effect of "soft bounce" and "firm bounce" rebounders?

I don't think you are. I did get an Urban rebounder. Not using it. You're getting more benefit from your $20 one than I am. ;) If it's not broken, don't fix it.

I got an expensive one as I have really bad knees. They don't hurt with my bungee rebounder and I'm so happy I can use it!! I really thought I would have to ship it back. I love rebounding...makes me feel like a kid again!!!

Do you have the email site for the rebounder? I too have knee problems from my days of freestyle skating. All the jumps and spins hurt my knees.

Eilene, Yes, those look like very nice rebounders. They are a bit taller though and I use mine under a lower ceiling, so they would probably send me through the roof. Guess, I'll stick with the one I've got. Thanks and by the way nice knitwork!

I have a cheapy as well. I figure, my stepkids and partner use it as well. If it get busted somehow, I can easily replace it with another one!

Don't worry about having a cheapy! They are just as good as the other ones!

They are a little taller...but you don't bounce very high on them at all. Thanks for the compliment!!!

Eilene,

This is to answer your quote question.

At the very bottom of a person's post, on the right side, there is a button that says "quote." Hit that, and it quotes the whole post. If you only want part, you can delete the parts you don't want.

:)

And I have an urban rebounder, spent $100 incl. shipping. I'm super happy with it. I agree with Revvell, though... if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

The soft bounce are for people of normal weight, the firms are for those who are over a certain weight (300# I think) The added resistance is for that reason. I had a cheaper one too, but the little things on the bottom wore out pretty quickly (rubber cups) and the springs started breaking. Once one goes, they all go. We ended up giving ours to the neighbors. We also had one (more expensive variety). From what I can tell, it's worth the money to buy a Needak if you plan to use it a lot like I did.

I think we'll be buying another one soon.

I have to say, in a pinch anything is good as long as it gets you moving, but I did spring for an Urban Rebounder and you really can tell the difference, it really is easier on the body...

I have a ReboundAir half fold and I use it almost everyday now. I remember years ago that we had one of the 20.00 trampolines and it did not last very long. I think that a 200.00 investement is worth it. Good quality and a peace of mind that I will not cause myself any nerve damage. Just something to consider:p

My Urban Rebounder arrived. I love how it feels when I bounce on it. It is quiet. It feels totally different and much better than the walmart rebounders.

My complaint is, the springs are metal and plastic. Can you believe there is plastic in the springs. What if one snaps???

For the price, I will keep it as a starter and work on saving up for a better model.

I have a "cheapie" model and it has worked just fine so far. When it breaks I might invest in a more expensive one though.

I love it in the warm weather because I have a full size trampoline out in my yard and that one really gives me a good workout.

I wore out 2 cheapy rebounders in less than one year so I figured I would invest in a Needak. THe difference is totally in the bounce. The needak is definately more bouncy (springy). I can get some major bounce and air going on it vs. the cheapy brand. Luckily I have a high ceiling!:)
