i'm so sick. i made some cooked soup for the family and some coconut curry soup for me.

i really would like something to soothe my throat. any popsicle ideas for assisting with me getting healthy?

i was thinking using my vita-mix to make a puree apple... what do you all think would be simple (as i can barely stand up) and doesn't need any fancy.

i have mangos, kale, carrots, apples, lemons, sweet lemons, nectarines, plums, pears...

i'm off to bed... it's 7pm here. i hoped to make some during the night, but i'll have to wait to hear from some one first.

i don't have any peaches :(

my son was sick for 3 weeks with this... my hubby and daughter have been sick for a week. she's starting to begin to feel better... my hubby is not doing well. i finally succummed to this on sunday.

being raw is what has kept me healthy... i need to beat this so i can take care of my family.

I am so sorry you are sick! If you have congested lungs, drinking water or tea with honey and a bit of cayenne could help. (and lemon if you wish)I had terrible breathing problems and I think cayenne helped me. I've also used water with a little apple cider vinegar to loosen mucous, too. When I feel sick, i like miso soup with seaweed. Not quite raw, but the warmth is soothing. Do you have any frozen fruits? A fruit slushy might feel good on your throat. You could toss some fruit in the freezer tonight to use tomorrow. And fresh juices, of course,if you have the energy or some kind person to make them for you. I hope you feel great very soon!!

Sounds like you have that virus that is going around here. Daughter and I had it a few weeks ago. Mainly we slept and drank water. She had a little juice. We had no appetite whatever so we didn't eat much. Took about 2 weeks to get over.

You know what, if you have a throat infection than the following recipe is going to cure it pretty fast:
You take a tablespoon of raw honey, and mix it with 5 cloves of raw finely chopped up garlic and a teaspoon of cayenne. Then take 1/2 teaspoon every 30 minutes of the mixture. You may have to make this mixture a few more times. This will cure even a bad strep throat within 24 hours, at most 48 hours. It is hot, but it works!!

wow cayenne... that is one potent cure! i'll have to remember that one.

i do have frozen fruit... been living off green smoothies and fruit smoothies... made some coconut curry soup (with cayenne) for dinner last night and have some left over for tonight. i'm so glad i have a vita-mix. it makes everything so quickly - i can get sitting back down quick!

i guess i'll make some popsicles out of water.

Apple/Lemon juice makes wonderful popsicles sort of reminiscent of lemon Italian Ice. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Brew some decaf tea(making it twice as strong), you can pick any flavor you like. There is a medicinal herb tea just for the throat, too. After you have brewed the tea double strength, let sit until warm. Add sweetener of choice (they say honey is best for coating the throat) and freeze into popsicles.

A frozen throat feels no pain, so make lots. When my throat was burning, I went through 6 popsicles within 20 minutes!!

I wish you well.

Traditional Medicinals is the tea company we have on our shelves.

Cayenne is super healing. I wish I always remembered to grab some when I need it too.

So sorry you have that potent crud. Feel well.

I have one touchy on and off swollen lymph node. I'm thinking teeth, but not sure yet so need to follow the talk from this group and work on it. When it is not very large or don't feel if it is tender I forget all about it. I have been living at dentist's office for months and now finally finished.

Feel well. Rest and liquids great keys to take advantage of now.

I understand how you feel. I have the crud too. My residents at the nursing home I work at also has the crud, that is where I picked it up from, I'm sure. UGH! I had to go home from work last night, early, because I was heading to the bathroom, to do one or the other, if you know what I mean.

I was the last one to get sick, at my work palce, so I guess my diet changes have helped! But, still yuck. I'm glad I'm off work until Saturday night. Anyway, take care! I'm going to go back to bed soon. My bed is calling me. Whine, whine. :(
