Okay...I'm truly a newbie to Raw Food (been 100% for only 2 weeks now), but I thought this was worth a new thread.

And, some of you may already know this, so if ya do, please disregard. I'll just chalk it up to my lack of experience on this forum...LOL:D

Here's what I did:

I made the pancake recipe (I don't have Alissa's book yet...getting it soon, but I think I read somewhere on this forum that the pancake recipe is from her book. Anyway...here 'tis:

(I made a 1/2 batch)

1/2 cup Ground Flaxseeds
1 tsp. coconut oil

Mix and roll into ball and flatten on plate.

Ok..that is the regular recipe. Some people add agave (which I love!) Others add fruit.

I didn't roll or flatten, but took some semi-thawed frozen mixed berries (about 1/2 cup for this half batch), and mixed it right into the batter.

I tried it out of the bowl and loved it! It totally tasted like Berry Crisp to me! The batch never made it to a plate...hee hee

I will most definitely try it again sometime!

Forgot to mention that I did add some agave...about 1 Tblsp at most. Mixed right into the batter before I added the berries.

Very simple...right up my alley!!!!

OK...question. Is the flax "cake" like a mush??? Wondering because I think I have most of the ingredients! Thanks

Yes, it's totally like mush. But most crisps or cobblers that I had as a kid were sort of this texture.

I may be weird, but I like it!:D

I have to get some agave, so I know I will be trying this as soon as I get some. Thank you for posting.

tvillemom: I wonder if something like raw honey (if you have it) would also work for this?

It's so incredibly easy to make... word of caution though - it is pretty rich because you're basicly eating flax meal sweetened with berries and agave (or honey).

I don't think it's for everyone, but it sure took care of my sweet tooth! Haven't craved sweets like that for days!

Looking forward to knowing if anyone else liked it, or if I'm just a bit strange...LOL:rolleyes:
