Hi all,
Last night I got the munchies, after reuniting with a childhood friend and, in light of the rare occasion, smoking weed :o So, all bars down, I indulged in some uncooked oats, banana... and plain, unsweetened, organic cows milk yoghurt. Though the expiration date was a ways a way, the yoghurt was slightly lumpy, and I bought it from a local standard supermarket which carries predominantly cheap, poor quality food.
I don't usually eat dairy. The last time I had yoghurt was maybe... 6 months or so ago? Since those 6 months have passed, I had raw goats milk cheese twice (neither times no noticable problems occured).
ANYWAY, sorry for the long preface...

I woke up this morning with what seemed to be food poisening. I vomited and such, and such... I'll spare you on being too graphic;) This persisted for a long time... I got alot out, but my stomach is still kind of knotty. In the past, prior to being raw, starchy foods always helped ease my stomach, so I made a bit of cooked millet earlier on today, which helped a bit, and satiated my need for food temporarily. I know I should fast, but I really want to eat dinner now... !!!

MY QUESTION IS... What should I eat? What can I? I want to get my greens in! I was thinking about a raw smoothie, but I know the sugar content might not be the best idea. I'm wary about making a salad because that might be too taxing to digest... And I know some steamed vegetables or homemade soup would be most soothing to my stomach, but I want to eat raw, finally!!!

PLEASE HELP!!! Thank you all, Karma;)

do you have a juicer? i would juice something.

i would not do a smoothier... if all you have is a blender, i'd strain the juice out of the smoothie and only drink it.

be gentle with your body... it is in shock!

thank you for the prompt response! I don't have a juicer:/ May I ask why you suggest not drinking a smoothie? Also, how can I strain the juice from the smoothie when it is freshly blended? Wouldn't I have to wait quite a while before the density and the juice separate? Thanks again:o

no you don't have to wait.

the fibre takes work to digest. your body is not well... give it the easiest thing it can digest... that is freshly made juice!

if you look at the link in my sig about the wheatgrass... you'll see how easy it was for me to strain it.

if you've got a nut milk bag you can blend your vegetables and then milk them through the bag to create easily digestible juice...just a thought

hope you feel better soon, vomiting and being ill sucks.

I had food poisoning several times a few years back and each time I waited till I could puke no more, then had a doubleshot of fresh wheatgrass. After that settled things down I would try to have a little water or juice and just rested it out.

Charcoal is very helpful.

thanks all... I got to the point where I got so hungry that I couldn't even be picky, so I just ate. I don't have a strainer, nor do I yet know what a nut milk bag is (???), and I'm terribly allergic to wheat grass, unfortunately (THAT would send my stomach into even WORSE convulsions:eek: ). Oh well, thank for all that attempted to help me, I appreciate it:D

so what did you eat?

A couple of bananas, first. The whole time I was really craving a salad, but second to that I was craving soup, so I finally just decided to go with that, and made a lentil-vegetable soup, since that was what was available, was easiest, and what my body was craving:( It was soothing enough, but man oh man I cannot wait to resume life tomorrow, resume raw, get a move on and EAT WONDERFULLY RAW SALADS!!!
