Hi all, I'm going to place an order for some Raw Honey, but haven't ever really looked into this before.
Should I get the actual untouched honeycomb:
"Delicious chunks of honeycomb, straight from the hive topped up with honey"
or just pure raw unprocessed honey:
"Unprocessed honey straight from the hive with the natural goodness of honeycomb, pollen and propolis"
I guess it's easier to eat the honey, but didn't know if the honeycomb was useful too!
Thanks, River.

I think I've heard of the honeycomb having a few nutritonal proprerties.... but none that i can remember. Some people just like chewing on it... but then you have to spit it out since it's wax and all. I've never tried it cause it always looked like too much of a gooey mess for me to dig into. but i'm sure you could find some creative things to do with the comb. honey is delish! enjoy!

i've had the honeycomb before... it makes quite the mess and you never really get all the honey out. so although the kids thought it was cool that once... i buy mine in a glass jar.

I eat honey because it does not affect my blood sugar and until I ordered the agave syrup on this site I have not found any truly raw agave syrup. Besides, it does affect my blood sugar.

Make sure that the honey you order is unheated. It can be heated and still be called raw. Found this out from someone who is a beekeeper. Raw honey can be heated to strain it faster, makes it thinner. He told me the best way to make sure it was truly raw was to make sure it was unheated.

Was going to say I already beat you to the punchline, but then I realized we have two Honey threads going on here today - and yes, yes, yes, the podcast literally is Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Raw Honey ~ Cathy

yes thanks all, and revvell for the auido feed. really useful, and has helped a lot! so thankyou.
I'll check on the heating specifically, and make a call on it. I have ordered some quality agave. So may wait and see what thats like instead.

No transcripts for the audio ? :(
I'll listen tomorrow...but what is the main point? Are the "raw" labelled honey's I'm buying not really raw at all?

I think it depends on where you get your honey. Each supplier does things differently. The guests that Revvell had on her show all had unheated raw honey. One I think, if I remember correctly had both and they all had organic raw honey. The way I can tell if it is raw, unheated is checking my blood sugar. Raw, unheated does not affect my blood sugar, if its been heated, it changes the honey somehow and it will affect my blood sugar. Weird how somethings do and somethings don't.
