I was just reading through my new natural Awakenings magazine that I pick up every month at my local health Food store and I came across a small article that There is now a raw Food Prep Class being offered by Carlos Dominquez, A raw Food level 2 chef trained through renowned Raw Food Chef Alissa Cohen's program. I am going to call and reserve my spot in the class!

Lucky you! Things like that don't happen out here in the boonies. If they had a class like that, it would be in Santa Fe which is two and half hours away. Enjoy yourself and congrats!

Was it at Lipstick Jungle? I went to that class on January 29th and have been raw ever since! She had a sampling of food there and talked about the benefits. She offers support classes (3 month commitment at $20 per week plus a $125 start up fee). I was going to do it but found that with the help of the internet, this site and Alissa's book/DVD, I could figure this out a lot cheaper on my own. I don't mind spending the money but I would rather spend it on buying the equipment I need. Plus I do have a friend at work doing this with me, which helps. Plus others interested. We're thinking of starting up a pot luck here in Niles. Would you be interested miaculpa?

Lipstick Jungle is a small spa in Niles. They do facials (only $35) and massages (only $40) and use natural products. Susan, the owner, is a raw foodist and is starting to do classes and support groups.
I'll let you know if we start up a monthly pot luck here in Niles. By the way, Harmony Market in South Bend does have a monthly raw pot luck on the 2nd Monday of each month. I just heard about it on Friday so I haven't gone yet but plan to go this month.
