View Full Version : Global Juice Feast: March

This is a thread for those of us who are going to be juice feasting this month to talk about our experiences during the feast. Juice feasting is the practice of consuming a gallon or more of juice per day in lieu of solid food to give the digestive system a rest, rehydrate and detoxify the body, without overly disturbing the metabolism or shocking the body with a sudden lack of calories. It is different from juice fasting because it is about abundance rather than deprivation: we're going to be juicing 10-15 pounds of produce per day, including 2 pounds of greens. More information can be found at juicefeasting.com.

The Global Juice Feast is 92 days, starting March 1st, but feel free to jump in at any time for any length of time, whether its a week or a day. There are at least a few of us who hope to feast the entire time. :)

(Stina, I hope you don't mind that I started this thread! I'm just so excited. :))

Good Morning! It feels so good to be starting my juice feast and not just talking about it. Beckx, that was a good introduction to what juice feasting is about, well put!

I just finished making my four quarts of juice for the day. Each jar is about 3/4 of the way full since I'm really experimenting and figuring out how much to buy to make how much juice. I know the protocol calls for a quart of green juice in the morning, two quarts of fruit juice throughout the day, and another green juice in the evening, but I started my day with some wonderful orange juice.

I'd been drinking a lot of green smoothies to get ready for this and I used my "Green Star for only the second time today. I really made a mess with the citrus and transferred it over to the Vitamix blender and then squeezed out the pulp, which I don't mind using both methods. It's time consuming to make all of the juice but I actually enjoy the process. I'm doing it with my friend and landlady and I'm praying she can really stick with this; it's so nice to have a fasting buddy eyeball to eyeball.

Have a wonderful day, you Beautiful Juice Feasters! Tell me all about it!

Feeling so full of energy, which is amazing after 6 days of mostly water!!

Starting some serious juicing tommorow!

Wonder if you can help me Stina please! My little juicer, centrifugal type, the mesh had some little mould spores when I took it out from storage. I have cleaned it with hot water, toothbrush and soaking it in vinegar--will it be okay/safe to use tommrow?? Help!

Otherwise feeling fab

2 litres water

1/2 litre blood orange/lemon/lime juice

Ready for bed soon

Thanks :D

I'm really excited that it's here. I only had a quart of juice so far today. I haven't been hungry. I'm going to have some more in a minute. I want to get a vitamix and a greenstar juicer. I have a jack lalane juicer. I'm going to try making green juice in my blender and i'm going to try and buy a vitamix tommorrow. I think that the greenstar's going to have to wait until next month. I did alot of cleaning today and i have alot of energy. Have a great day everybody.:D

HI Sweetie- How about some bleach water on that juicer? I live in the rainforest of Oregon and mold is a serious issue.

Congratulations! You've already made significant progress with fasting. You've got a lot of self-discipline doing water fasting! I trust the switch to juice fasting will be very nurturing, cleansing, and restorative on your system.

Hey, how are you guys juicing fruit? Citrus really clogged up my Green Star. I stopped by a thrift store and got a Oster electric juicer and I thought I could use that and squeeze out the juice from the pulp with a nut mylk bag. I'm using my friend's Vitamix blender but won't have permanent access to that. I have an Ex-calibur dehydrator, a Cuisinart food processor, and a Greenstar and a Champion, but I drive a 22-year old truck and would rather spend the next wad of money on a Vitamix blender........ya identifiy with this addiction?

dancer, what about soaking in some hydrogen peroxide? not sure what dilution you'd use though.

today:
-32 oz juice: watermelon with spirulina, daunwood reishi extract and wheat grass
-16 oz juice: apple-carrot-spinach
-32 oz juice: kale-dandelion-cucumber-yellow bell pepper
-48 oz juice: green apple-celery-fennel-pear-cucumber with cinnamon

wasn't feeling bee pollen/lemon water and msm/hemp oil... feeling finicky about supplements at the moment, morning juice with reishi was very good though.

kind of an emotional day today. i'm going to have to go to a funeral in the next few days and spend some time with family. i am considering partially pausing the feast for a couple of days until the whole ordeal is over and then jumping back in. if it were going to be only a day trip i would be fine, drink juice in my car, but i think it will be at least two days and there will probably be at least one family meal. i just don't want to draw attention or make anyone any more uncomfortable than they will already be under the circumstances... this isn't about me and i don't want to make it about me (or my diet). anyway, i'll feel it out, just keeping you guys updated.

Checking in for the day

I had 2 quarts of spinach, romaine, cucumber, celery, apple and lemon

and 2 quarts grapefruit, orange, lemon with spirulina

I didnt care much for the spirulina but we will see how it goes.

Stina I juice citrus everyday so I invested in the Breville Citrus Juicer. I cost 160$ but was sooo worth it for me. I was using a little Black and Decker one before but it too so much time. Here is a link for the Breville. Click and watch the video of it. Its and awesome machine. It makes the fastest citrus juice ever. A so easy to clean.

http://www.brevilleusa.com/products/800cpxl/index.jsp?sku=800cpxl&cID=230&pID=5&pvID=5

For anyone wondering about vitamix versus juicers, I chose the vitamix because it is a lot faster. I do own a greenstar that I love but it takes me a lot longer to make my juice with it. Since time is a huge issue for me I will be doing the vitamix. It works really well.

Everyone have a great sleep tonight and see ya all tomorrow!

Question about enemas....... do I still have to take them if my body is still eliminating pretty well? I'm on day 3 and still had a pretty decent BM this mornin... sorry if that's too much info! Stina, any thoughts on this?

David (Rain) who worked with Dr. Gabriel Cousens at his healing farm and did his master's theses on juice fasting- and in my opinion has put together an excellent protocol for a cleansing program- recommends two, goodness gracious!, two bowel movements a day for the first few weeks.
I did my first enema ever yesterday and realized I didn't quite know what to do once I got the water up there, but it did the job and flushed out bad stuff that would have made me feel bad. I tried to do the salt water flush and could only drink half a quart but that seemed to help move things along. I spend nineteen bucks yesterday and picked up Renew Life's Organic Bowel Cleanse which is a product very similar to the one recommended on the juice feasting board. I also got a box of Smooth Move laxative tea. The idea is to get one product to soak up toxins and another one to move it out.

I'm saving my money for colonics until I get to the parasite-cleansing part of the program. If I had more money, I'd be getting move colonics but alas, I'm already spending huge amounts of money on mostly organic produce and a few supplements. I even went out and applied for an evening job caretaking for senior citizens so I can afford this; hope that comes through for me, so I can rock out on the colon hydrotherapy table!

It was so nice to wake up feeling light and bright this morning. And that's only on day two. And truth be known, I was eating pretty junky up until the fast.

so, tell me how it's going Feasters!

Hello everyone,

I just found out about this and want to join in the fun, since I have really fallen off of the raw wagon in a big way due to the freezing temps. I feel yucky and am psyched to start a juice feast to get back on track.:)

Question to Jen;

I don't own a juicer, but do have a vitamix. How can I use my vitamix to make the juice?

Do I blend all the fruit and greens with water and then use a strainer to strain the pulp and fibers?

Thanks for your reply.

Best of luck, everyone!

Hey there- the protocol for juice feasting actually recommends using a vitamix blender but using a nut mylk bag instead of a strainer. Even a strainer would still let a lot of fiber through. Did you know you can go get a painter's bag to do the same trick if you don't have a nut mylk bag handy? There's lots of good info on juicefeasting.com I'm taking this fast pretty seriously and I've really studied the board. Two quarts of green juice a day and two of fruit juice; one green in the morning, two throughout the day and one more green in the evening. Minimum. It's a lot and expensive but to really go the long duration, that's what it takes.
Keep in touch with us; let us know how it's going.

Good morning juice feasters.

Sorry to hear about your funeral Beckx. You can just jump back in here when you get back from out of town. I totally understand your issue. We will be here when you get back.

Soulstar, David said start with about 1/2 cup water and some celery for the base of your green juice, then blend. Then add in everything else you want and blend for about 10 seconds, as not to heat up the vitamix. Pour into bag and strain into a big bowl. Its really easy and works so well. Who would have thought:D.

Im having my water now and then off to make my juices shortly. Im not really feeling hungry at all so far. I was really busy at work last night and my energy was great.

Have a beautiful day!!

Thanks Stina... You're so helpful and generous with all your info :)

So How's it going for everyone? I'm on day 3 and started to feel hungry for the first time.... but an extra 1/2 quart of apple juice and some coconut water did the trick for me. I've found that using some master cleanser lemonade (I use raw agave, 1/2 lemon, about a quart of water, a lil sea salt and a pinch of 90,000 H.U. cayenne pepper) in between juices really eliminates any hunger. I haven't really been making enough juice to equal 4 quarts... partly because it's expensive and partly because I'm using a centrifugal juicer and don't yet have a vitamix. Without sufficient green juices, I will probably only do this for 30 days. I don't think it's healthy to go too much longer than that without enough greens, is it? I figure I'll still be doing a fair amount of detoxing, especially drinking master cleanser as well. I've been using a lot of cucumbers, celery, apples, pineapple, coconut, carrots and spinach. I made juice with organic apples, a mango and some non-organic grapes yesterday and had to run to the bathroom (number 2) a few minutes later... I wonder if it had anything to do with pesticides on the grapes?

Anyway, I plan to do this the recommended way next year - most likely for 92 days.

Lizzy-Bee: I also do not have a vitamix, and I have a centrifugal juicer, and it takes forever to make enough green juice. I have yet to drink the recommended amount of juice for the day. I think part of it is I've been sleeping a lot, so I don't have enough hours in the day to drink that much juice! However, I haven't felt the least bit hungry this weekend, and right now I'm feeling rather full.

Anyway, I've been doing a combination of using my juicer, and then pouring it into my blender, blending, and straining. I didn't have a nut mylk bag, so I'm using a knee-high nylon instead. It works fine, but it takes forever. My blender is very very weak, so my juices have had to be on the watery side to get my blender to blend.

I couldn't find an enema kit nearby, so I ordered one online. I hope it gets here soon. I could certainly use it (probably part of my full feeling)! Other than that, and having a mild headache, this juice feast has been peachy for me. (ooh, peaches...too bad it isn't summertime yet. Peach juice would be delightful!)

I am lovin all the yummy juices on the feast, althought i really cant drink enough. I think I will have to work upto it. Right now I am happy just with my water still. But this day 7 to me, only 2 of those with juice added in..

Had 1.5 litre water

melon/lime juice

tonite

grapefruit,lemon, strawberry juice

Feeling good, slept for 10 hours..mental! But feel awake and vibrant now :o

Oh, good, then we can talk enema, little enema support group!:D I'm waiting for a call from my friend who is a certified colon hydrotherapist for some tips on them. She knows this stuff! Are you aware of the many exciting options on colon implants available to those fasting? such as wheat grass, probiotic implants, and E3Live liquids. And then ever-popular coffee enema for those really sh*#*y days!

Uhm, I don't seem to have the computer skills to just pick out a line from someone's sharing to respond to.

Raw_danceruk - I love your blog too.. all the recipes you created are great - and looking at all those awesome photos made me so hungry I had to stop.

Beanmonkee - thanks for posting that :) And thanks for the juicing/blending idea. Do you put the juice into the blender as well or just blend up the pulp? Nylons are a great idea too! Stina- any thoughts on that? Do you think they work as well as nut mylk bags or painters bags? Speaking of which, where can I find either of those? I've looked all over for nut mylk bags, none of the co-ops seem to have them. I'm down with the nylon idea if you think they work just as well.

I had a little headache today too. I read somewhere that that's a detox symptom of mucus clearing out of your brain (gross) - probably in Alyssa's book!

I also had to take a 2 hour nap in the middle of the day. When I woke up, I wanted to sleep more, but I thought that would make it too hard to get to sleep tonight... plus, I didn't want my bf to think I was being lazy.... probably an insecurity I'll have to get over to allow myself enough sleep to heal.

Anyway, other than that I feel great! I did ended up doing an enema this morning even after I eliminated without one. Stina says you should poo twice a day... if you don't, is it safe to do two enemas per day? I don't really like the idea of laxatives...

I checked out a couple yoga videos from the library and am working on fitting them into my schedule - I think it's more of a motivation issue.... But hopefully I'll soon stick to them!

Are you guys doing anything for daily exercise? I think I'm gonna start walking at the gym (it's sooo cold outside still)... I can't wait til spring!!!!!!

beanmonkee

I got the idea to use a nylon from the juice feasting website, actually. It works great.

I haven't decided if it's best to re-blend the pulp or not yet. It gets stuck in my blender, and I have to add water, which leads to watery juice. I think I'm going to start scooping the pulp from my juicer straight into my strainer, and go from there. Or I'll try rejuicing the pulp. I don't know. I'll let you know what works best after a few iterations.

Good morning everyone:)

I'm finding it hard to drink all that juice, it's so filling. Yesterday i had 2 quarts of spinach, celery, apple, lemon, carrot, red pepper and zuccini juice. I had a quart of garlic and grapefruit juice, it was actually good, i was surprised. The last juice that i made was orange, tangerine, lemon and apple juice.

Today i made brocoli, green pepper, pear, green apple, lemon and carrot juice. (one quart) I made 2 quarts of pear, green apple, lemon and ginger juice. I'm going to make my last quart tonight when i get home. I ran out of fruits and vegetables.

This morning when i woke up i noticed that my tongue was all white. I'm taking that as a good sign, that alot of toxins are being released. I think that i scraped my tongue for 5 minutes.

Lizzy-Bee

I couldn't find an enema kit nearby, so I ordered one online. I hope it gets here soon. I could certainly use it (probably part of my full feeling)!

Just to let everyone know, I found my enema kit at Walgreens for 11 bucks. They're in the feminine hygiene section next to the *ahem* douches. It's actually called a "Douche, Enema and Water Bottle System" and it's in a lil blue box. (Is there a separate enema thread up yet?)

Things are going well. I was craving fruit juice this mornin, so I made apple, pear, cucumber juice instead of the usual greens. Still have a headache today... hopefully that means I'm detoxing. I've noticed that I get a lot out on my own before my morning enema, and then the enema doesn't produce much but water. (My tongue is also pink and clean) So, maybe my colons already clean but my brain is detoxing!

I'm in the UK, and I looked at Boots, but I couldn't find one, and I didn't feel like asking about it. I ordered other stuff on the same site, too, so no harm done.

I'm drinking my kale/apple/celery/cucumber juice right now, and it's fantastic! I meant to put ginger in it, but it slipped my mind.

Random complaints......I guess I don't know how to operate the clip on the enema hose; water's squirting all over the place- bad scene in the bathroom! I'm tired of peeing every 25 minutes. My bowels are queasy from Smooth Move laxative tea and Renew Life's Organic Bowel Cleanse and I run for the bathroom mid-sentence. I'll be glad when the intestinal phase of the feast is over with.
Having fun experimenting with recipes. Hey, I've got months to perfect this! ............ Really liked Matt Monarch's recipe: carrot, a head of romaine, a handful of spinach and a small amount of fennel. He claims it's like a chocalate shake, and if you're hungry and imaginative enough, it really does!

I dreamt about donuts last night.......but I'm keeping my eye on the prize- glowing health, freedom, a vibrant body and a closer connection to God.
Hey, I look forward to getting to know you guys doing this thread:)

wow, i just juiced 2 pounds of bok choy and it made a full quart!

bok choy is seriously cheap at our co-op right now, and no other green makes a pint per pound in my juicer. its pretty good, i'm drinking it straight with a little lemon. :)

just an idea for those of you trying to add more greens for cheap.

Morning fellow fasters!!! Glad to hear everyone is feeling well. Im feeling slightly nausiated this morning and having some mild detox in the upper back/chest. Ive had to work really hard the past 3 days at work so Im ready for my off days. Ive noticed that my muscles feel a little fatigued at work. Anyone know what veggies my help to strenghten them....maybe I should have more green juice??? Im taking E3Live and it helps with energy but I notice that my tray feels much hearvier to my arms. Hopefully it will pass soon. Ive been having 1-2 bms on my own and 1 enema. Talk about sludge....ick!! I highly reccommend Intestinal Movement Formula if anyone is having a problem with bms. Its so gentle but man does it work. It really gets a lot out.
Stina, I know youve read a lot in the JF website do you recall it saying how long it takes before you eliminate mucoid plaque??? A friend of mine thats been raw for like 7 yrs reccommended blessed herbs. He said it was fast and he felt much healthier afterwards. Just curious.

Im off to make juice now.

Everyone have a beautiful day!!

jen, check out the day 2 video on elimination that's on the global juice feast website. david and katrina have a few suggestions for nausea there... ginger/lemon juice with or without honey was one, they also say people start to feel bad when they don't get enough juice, so you might need more than a gallon right now.

one way to help eliminate mucoid plaque is to drink bentonite/psyllium shakes. the bentonite pulls toxins from the colon and losens plaque, the psyllium sweeps everything out. i wasn't sure if they were recommended on the feast but david and katrina address them in that same video. that is a part of the blessed herbs cleanse protocol; i'd think if you combined it with the intestinal movement formula you'd have some similarly good results.

Hey BeckX- when you're talking about the video for day number 2, do you mean you paid to get membership or is this free to access? I might be having computer technical difficulties. There sure is a lot of material on the board. Do you know when we should do that bentonite clay/psyllium sweep? I really don't like that psyllium stuff, but, hey, if I'm capable of giving myself an enema, I can do anything! But the first day I could only drink 1/2 quart of salt water. That was challenging.
I worked seven hours today and I'm okay. Considering I was eatting sloppy up until doing this, I'd say that's great overall. I'm definitely experiencing food cravings, and evil ones at that, hot dogs! donuts! But I seem to have a bubble up around me protecting me from myself. I really prayed for help on this.
I stopped by the thrift store and bought an Oster citrus juicer for three bucks. Citrus way clogs up a Green Star and is bitter with the Vitamix method since the white pith is included, so this should do the trick to get a nice, refreshing quart of grapefruit juice.
Did I tell you I started a co-op? I'm so psyched! I get wholesale price and instead of driving to Eugene, which is 1 1/2 hours way, I pay 12% and have a delivery driver drop it off at my home! That's just so amazing I could get that lined up. I'm doing it with three other women, and it's such a joy for me to order and sort fruits and vegetables.
I'll be very very glad to get through the colon cleansing phase of this fast.
And, last of all, I got a chuckle out of my friend desperately trying to juice bananas in her Greenstar.

the video i was talking about is free to access. if you go to the globaljuicefeast.com site, on the main page when you scroll down a bit you'll see "featured video of the day". day 2 is still up when i check it, so you probably have a few more hours at least to check it out. i don't think they're archived anywhere though. :/ my neighbor is feasting too and paid for the membership, she said she would share anything particularly useful so if i hear anything important sounding i'll pass it on here.

i don't know if they have a protocol for psyllium but the thing about that shake is it sucks up and binds nutrients in the juices you've had recently in addition to toxins, so i'd probably do it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning and wait until you're really hungry before drinking your first juice (it will make you feel full for a while). it helps the flavor if you add cinnamon to it and drink it really quickly before it gels. you can also add a little apple juice to it. just make sure you drink extra water during the day, but its sooo much better than the salt water flush... i could never get down ANY of that without gagging a lot, so i just gave up.

juice today:

-32 oz bok choy juice with lemon
-8 oz green grape juice
-32 oz watermelon juice with wheat grass, duanwood reishi tincture, spirulina, bee pollen and hemp seed oil
-32 oz cucumber-broccoli-kale juice
-32 oz apple-fennel-celery juice with a big sprinkle of cinnamon

i want to back off on the fruit juice for the next few days, i think. i felt better during my last feast when i limited myself to 1 quart of fruit juice. the problem is i feel really repelled by carrot juice and cabbage juice, which were two of my staples during my short feast. i'm stocked with both, so i hope i get over that soon... luckily they're less perishable than most things.

also i have the worst craving for lasagna.

Stina - I dreamt about eating on my first night of juice feasting. Our brains are something, huh?

This morning I drank a fantastic quart of green juice.
1 bunch chard
1 head celery
2 cucumbers
1 lime
Coriander (I think that's the same as cilantro)

Now, I'm drinking my first straight fruit juice of the feast, and I can already feel it.
2 red grapefruits
5 small valencia oranges
1 cucumber
Water to dilute it some.

I think I may get in my full gallon today. My main struggle has been drinking as much as is recommended. I have yet to get in a full 2 lbs of greens, but I've gotten in the celery every day. I think I've also only had as much as 3 quarts/day. However, I'm feeling full, and I'm feeling really good and energetic. I'm still sleeping a ton, but I have enough spare time that that isn't a huge deal. When I wake up, though, I'm alert, and I'm ready to go. I had a horrible headache at the end of the day yesterday, but I'm feeling good now (I little woozy from all this fruit juice, but I'm going to go hit the gym to use up all this energy!).

Happy juicing, everyone!

Hello everyone, I am new to this site. My name is Nadia. I was handed a book by Dr. Cousens and started to get very interested in this juice feast. I only saw it online yesterday. I want to join in. I don't know how long I can go on this 92 day but I will do my best. I have been raw on and off and since January am say 90%. I have done a fast for 3 weeks but never with so much green juices. This will be interesting. Am starting tomorrow.

You guys seem very excited about this. I actually am living in Jamaica so acquiring fruits and greens is not so hard. I will use coconut water as the base for my juices. I have a vitamix and also a juiceman juicer so am pretty much prepared to begin. I hope to reap the benefits of this feast.

Nadia -- good to have you. I'm actually doing a modified juice feast -- allowing myself green smoothies -- and I'm not planning on going the full 92 days.

Ah, to live in Jamaica where there are fresh fruits and greens! I'm in Scotland, so they're harder to come by.

Thanks for your response. Yea its Jamaica and we have all those fuits except sometimes they get quite expensive. I really am dreading the daily enemas will they not make you dependent?

Would highly reccomend watching todays video on eliminations!

Basically, Morning enema and then if you need it the colon cleanse capsules. Only if needed.

You could try a Salt water flush or laxative tea as an alternative

But enema I think you will come to enjoy/ like the results o how you feel after.

Have fun, stay juicy :D

Hi everyone and welcome Nadia.

Beckx thanks for the info. I did finally watch the video. I will be sure to watch the next one on elimination too. Ive never tried the clay or physillium. I did just start using the Intestinal Drawing formula so if it doesnt help I will try this suggestion. I do feel better today.

I broke down today and had some coffee, BIG mistake. It was cold out and I was hungry because I had some early errands and no time to make juice. I should have made more time for myself but I got kept late at work last night. The coffee send me right to the bathroom though with instant sludge. I am hoping to totally kick my coffee habit on this feast. I can go weeks without it and then just feel as if I have to have it. I know its the comfort feeling I love. Go figure. It was getting to me like the hotdogs are getting to Stina. Aside of that Ive had 2 qts of green juice, water/msm/lemon, and 1 qt of watermelon juice so far. I will have some citrus juice later. Didnt do the right order but after that coffee I knew I needed lots of alkaline green juice.
Other than that Im feeling good today.

Hang in there and feel better Stina!!

Raw Danceruk how are feeling with the juice versus water. I dont know how you do it. You must really be getting some great cleansing. I havent had time to check out your blog yet. How much water do you drink??? I hope at some point I will be able to drink more but I know the juice is more important for me so that I dont mess up and I already run to the bathroom contstantly to pee. I know the people I work with must think I have kidney issues.

Hi Beanmonkee!!!

See you all tomorrow!!

Good morning everyone:D

Yesterday I made blood orange, orange, apple, pear, ginger and cucumber juice. I also made cucumber and carrot juice. I'm finding it hard to drink all that juice. My energy level is good though. I went to the gym last night and had a good workout. I bought some MSM last night and had some with water and lemon. I'm finding that i'm not leaving myself enought time to do an enema in the morning so i've been doing it in the evening. I'm going to try and get up earlier. It's hard though because i usually leave around 6.

Today I made purple grape, green grape, apple, pear and ginger juice. I also made carrot, celery, cucumber, kale and apple juice. I was going to have a glass of lemon water and MSM this morning but didn't give myself enough time.

Have a good day everyone:)

Hi everyone, I'm starting a 3-day juice feast today, and I know I'm not doing 92, but I thought I would chime in here anyway. I'm really not a fan of green juices, so if anyone has any recommendations for ones that aren't quite as strong, I would really appreciate it!

Also, I tend to be a binge eater, so will this help me out on that?? I'm sick of doing it, and I'm really hoping this will help me.

beanmonkee
03-05-2008, 11:02 AM
agumble: Yes, I think it will help with the binge eating. I also binge from time to time (usually out of boredom or loneliness), and doing this juice feast has made me realize what feeling satisfied without that heavy tummy feeling feels like. I really like that, and I think I will be more conscious of my eating habits now.

I also am not doing a 92 day juice feast, but I wanted to support those who are. I was doing a full juice feast for the first 4 days, and now I'm modifying it. I came from a SAD vegetarian diet (dabbling in raw from time to time), and I think right now it's most important for me to improve my eating habits, rather than jumping in to just juice for 92 days. My modification is that I'm going to be starting with a green juice in the morning, and I will be including 1-2 lbs of leafy greens, and 1 head of celery in my daily intake, no matter what else I eat. I want to see what that will do for my SAD cravings, and see if the food I naturally gravitate toward starts to become increasingly plant-based. Exciting, huh?

I'll keep y'all updated on how it goes, and Stina -- I was just watching a taped tv show in which the characters ate hotdogs, and I don't blame you for that craving. But go read what's in a hotdog -- that should help! (nitrates and other goodies)

I need some encouragement.........I've only been doing this a day and already I've got a massive headache and feel weak. Plus all I can drink is water because just the thought of drinking anymore juice is making me sick to my stomach. I'm really hungry but I just can't handle more juice. I know this is detox, but is it supposed to be this much during the first day? I'm trying so hard not to cave, but I'm finding it extremely difficult to not reach into my fridge for something solid. Please help!

agumble, have you tried doing an enema? or even taking some kind of supplement to help your bowels move. drink lots of water, or maybe some hot tea, go for a walk, do whatever you need to to get your mind off food.

does all juice sound bad, even orange juice or watermelon juice? maybe try some sweet juice. you'll start detoxing pretty hard if you don't get close to that gallon, that's the point of feasting vs. fasting - you aren't supposed to get hit with bad detox because your body doesn't think its starving.

i started feeling really bad around 4 pm but i got some little reusable cupcake molds shaped like hearts today and whipped up some coconut oil/honey/bee pollen/duanwood reishi in the blender and filled them up... totally amazing, you could sub any supplements in there too, i did some with maca and cinnamon. popped them in the freezer to solidify... its like a little bit of heaven.

Hey agumble- it's very strange for me that I had a deep psychic shift to do this juice fast. I can't explain it; it's intrinsically a spiritual calling. There were so many times I'd get on the fasting thread and say I was going to fast and not follow through. When I heard about this juice feast, I had a profound intuitive feeling I was meant to do it. I just wanted to share that with you because it's deep stuff evaluating our intentions with fasting and whether or not we're up to it. It's hard! I've had waves of detoxing hit me that knocked me out, made me sleep deeply in the middle of the day when I need to be working and make me irritable and less than pleasant to be around.
I felt better today. I've slacked off on the colon cleansing and apparently had better get busy with it if I don't want to poison my system. It's really challenging trying to drink four quarts of juice a day but I'm doing my best.
I'm trying to lose track of the days, yeah, right! I don't want to do a count down, as it would just drag on, you know. I'm trying to enjoy the journey. I figure I'll have made significant progress when I start craving raw food more than SAD food. I'm especially having to look at/feel my relationship with dairy products, that I haven't been able to let go of- 'til now.

Best of luck everyone, my prayers are with you!

I was like bionic-woman housecleaning today. I'm quite energetic. Not incredibly energetic.....but quite energetic. I too am having difficult getting the recommended amount of juice in a day. I was trying to shoot for five quarts a day but haven't even started the third. Complicated by the fact that apparently you're supposed to wait a couple of hours between fruit and greens. Is anyone knowledgable about that? I also need to catch up on colon cleansing.
That video today on the website was stinking hilarious! Thanks for the inspiration for enemas George Bush!

Ha Ha!!! Yes that video was hilarious Stina!!

I dont think I would be able to get all my juice in if I waited 2-3 hrs between juices. With working a full time hectic job I just do the best I can and go from one juice to the next if need be. I cant guzzle juice, especially the green. My job is very fast paced and strenuous and shakes my belly up if I drink too much at once. I do guzzle my water in the a.m and p.m. I need to work more on trying to get in my bm's. I dont have that much free time because I still have to help make food for my family, make my juice and work. Then make sure I dry brush, bounce, walk (although thats all I do at work), enemas, watch the video of the day and come here so I can see how everyone is doing. whewwww. But Im feeling great so its o.k.!!

Hope everyone is doing well!!

Good Morning Everyone :)

I'm going to try and watch those video's but I don't know if it's going to work because I live in the country and we can't get high speed internet so i'm on really slow dial up.

I'm feeling great, have alot of energy but I do get tired pretty quick in the evening. Yesterday I made kale, carrot, celery, cucumber and apple juice. The other one was green grape, purple grape, cucumber, apple and ginger juice.

This morning i made
parsley, celery root, cucumber and apple juice.
pineapple, mango and apple juice.

I had my glass of lemon and msm water this morning.

I haven't been doing my dry skin brushing and my enema's for the last couple of days. I'm going to have to start that up again.

Have a great day.

Happy Juicing:D :D

Hey all

Sorry I been awol, schedule been madd! Had the day off today which has been fabulous! Going to a party tonight, not drinking should be intresting!

I am still in love with my water, its easiest to drink 2-3 litres a day. That completly satiates me. However I know the juice is calories and amazing nutrition so I am trying to get it all in.

I managed to hit 1 gallon two days, I didnt feel hungry, I felt constantly full, spent half the day peeing..and got a sudden energy burst about 6pm..was up half the night!!

So I need to find a happy medium, 2 litres juice, 2 litres water seems to work okay. Then if I fancy a juice, oil, green powder mix in the evening thats fine.

The weight is dropping off me, will try my best to get enough juice!! It is hard work-- David and Katrina say its best to drink in intervals not non-stop--bad for your teeth and taxing on digestion. But it is soo hard! Anyone got the magic answer?

I also been getting funny looks at my desk trying to "chew" my juice! haha! Its hard when I just want to get it down me!!

Anyway hope you guys are all raw-kin it :D

Wow Jen you're really working a good program with this fast! You're incorporating more tools into it than I am. You must be feeling great:p I need to get on the ball with rebounding and skin brushing. And I want to start sweating in the sauna.
Are you getting many supplements in?

I didn't do bowel maintenance for a couple of days and got around to it yesterday and black stuff came out, so I seem to be loosening up the notorious mucoid plaque. I'm a science experiment!

Have a blessed day fasting!:)

Yeah, I seem to be in the habit of drinking about 8 to 12 ounces at a time, work, drink some water, give it about twenty minutes, then guzzle some more juice. It really takes a plan of attack to suck down that much juice.

'Anyone else experiencing the joy of juice from blood oranges? They are so worth the price!

Glad to see everyone is doing so well!! Im feeling kinda crappy today. Just did my water/msm/lemon and enema but it didnt help much. I have a slight headache/stomach ache/achy and just feel tired and icky. I worked my butt off at work last night and Im a bit sore today. I have to make sure I keep my arms/shoulders/upper back muscles strong for my job. I know it will be a busy weekend and I really need to be strong. I dont go in until 8 tonight so I have some time to try to feel better. Maybe I will do another enema soon. Still feel like more needs to come out. I dont really have time to do the gym or weightlifting and dont really care to. Have never taken yoga and dont know too much about it. Does it help to strengthen your muscles some???? Might try to take some classes if I can find the time. Gotta run make some juice. See you all later.

Have a great day!!!

I didnt go to work tonight. Been feeling bad all day. I just did my second enema today and I feel a little better now. It was rough going thru the second one though. I kept breaking out in bouts of sweat kinda like when you have a stomach bug and terrible stomach aches and pains. Nothing real solid coming out though still just liquid. I downed some Intestinal Drawing Formula earlier hoping that would help get some stuff out but it didnt seem to. I will have more before bed tonight. Ive only had 1 qt orange juice and 1 qt grapefruit juice so far today. I will try to do my green juice soon. I just couldnt stomach it earlier today. I didnt really want it yesterday either but I drank it anyway. Im thinking I need an emergency colonic. Ive never had one but I think now is the time. Dont know if they are open on Sat. but I will sure be calling to find out. Oooh here comes another stomach ache. Gotta run.

Yikes, my truck broke down and I got another car....which promptly broke down, and I'm really low on funds. I thought I'd be gone from home for 1/2 hour and I was gone for hours with no water or juice, not to mention I'm stressed. I made five quarts of juice today: three greens, one pineapple, one carrot/apple. I'm shooting for five and to really flood my body with nutrients. And two or more quarts of water. It really takes a lot of concentration to get that much down the hatch.

I am looking into doing the juice feast and I have a question for all of you. Do you really need all the supplements they propose? I'm not talking about the ones you can pick up at your local health food store or the ones you already have on hand. I am talking about the Vitalzym ($145), Zeolite ($159) particularly. The super green food they recommend can be substituted. But I added up all these things and it ran over $400. What are you using? If it is necessary, I don't mind buying it, but will have to break it up into a couple of paydays to spread the cost out. Was planning on starting the first of April. I wanted to get used to the quart of water in the morning and the greens by making green smoothies. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Pamparred
Did your read in the global juice feast site and the juicefeasting site??There is a lot of info. I think I read that if you cant afford supplements they really reccommend bee pollen, msm, and hemp oil. You might consider something to help move your bowels along with enemas. Im using intestinal movement formula. Other than that most are optional. I have been using E3 live and I like it a lot. It gives me a great energy boost. I also have some of Alissa's therapeutic enzymes which have the same ingredients as vitalzym. I have some of the other things but dont notice much from them. I do use msm every morning like they reccommend. Hopefully its doing something inside. They say the most important thing is drinking your juices which Im having a hard time doing right now. Not sure why. Good luck in your adventure. Hope to see you here more.

hey guys, i'm back. the funeral was difficult but it was good to reconnect with family and my cousins and i have decided to go out to dinner every few months to make sure we see each other regularly, which is good. next one is planned for the end of june, so if my calculations are correct i should be off the feast and post-feast by then.

i ended up being on a modified feast thurs/fri but yesterday i had ran out of the juice that i brought so i had some solids and lots of water.

back on the wagon. i slept about 11 hours last night, just woke up and its 1:30. anyone have an idea of if its ok to have less juice than a gallon if you're only hoping to be awake for 10-11 hours? if i woke up this late and i was eating solids i think i would feel fine to have less juice.

Thanks Jen I appreciate the info. I have been to the site and read everything several times, I just got overwhelmed by all the info. Some stuck, some did not. I actually have most of it and have been thinking about the zeolite for heavy metal, but the Vitalzym, the price just threw me. Don't know why when the zeolite is so expensive, guess because I wasn't sure what the Vitalzym was and what is was for. I will check out the one on this site. I am planning on starting my juice feast the first of April. Want to gather my stuff and am working on things that I feel I need to get used to before the feast, like a quart of water when I first wake up and drinking green smoothies as I don't like greens that much but figured I would try green smoothies and then might better be able to handle the green juice. Will be checking this thread out often and posting as I get into the swing of things. I like greens, I like greens, I like greens. Trying to convince myself. :D

Checkin in guys, day 14 for me

Supplements I would say get what you can afford, unless you live in central london/nyc and are getting the tube/subway everyday I think you could do without the zeolite!!

I am using bee pollen, msm, green powder (I love ittt..could eat it off the spoon), coconut oil, local honey or light agave(for MC drink)

I watched the video about MC yesterday was really good, I have had 3 today and 1 carrot/celery om om..that tasted to me like milk..really weird.. creamy..cool..perfect..had loads of ginger in it! I want spicy juice right now!!

Apart from that had a mad headache earlier so rested, then woke up..cleaned the whole house, made my gf crackers with pulp and done all the washing.. hehehe..evening energy rush :D

Keep up the good work lovely rawbies :o

Thanks raw dancer, I will just use what I have and not worry about the rest. I think the juice feast in itself will be very beneficial and healing. The supplements probably just speed up the process, but if you end the feast and start eating raw and living, the rest will be taken care of in time.

I'm thinking the priority would be on bowel cleansing as far as supplements went. You really don't want to poison your system while fasting with a colon full of putrid crap. However, you could probably make do with just an enema bag but it's really important to get it cleaned out or your blood system goes toxic. You'd feel a lot better. You could buy a less-expensive product like Renew LIfe's Organic Bowel Cleanse and Smooth Move tea to keep things moving along.

Hate to be Butt-Woman but I just did several enemas in a row and can't believe lots of solid is still coming out of me. Yes, disgusting but I'm really making progress with my digestive system by doing so. I had never done enemas before this juice feast but really believed the pioneers of the juice feast when they said it's important to use them, especially considering I can't afford colonics. Boy, are they unpleasant though........

Hi everyone, its good to hear from you all. I must say that I have not been having the supplements, I could add the hemp oil, bee pollen and msm. Do I really need to add them ? I did my enemas and I am finding that things are still coming out after days of not eating. I haven't had any severe detox signs. I do feel lighter and clearer. I do thing I should drink more water. Will do that tomorrow and I must say today I was preparating dinner for my family and was tempted but thank God I did not give in . Well everyone just hang in there.

Hi everyone!! Since were talking enemas, mine have been a bit uncomfortable today and yesterday. I get an instant stomach ache/pains, sweating, nausea and just feel terrible. I dont feel like everything that needs to come out is coming out. I will be calling about getting a colonic sometime this week. Im struggling thru this feast instead of enjoying it. I am gagging to get some green juice in and I really dont want the fruit juice much either. Im feeling a bit weak and cranky. Not having any major food craving just feel altogether icky. Im hoping a colonic will fix me up and get some of these toxins out. Other than that its nice to have you back Beckx, and glad you passed up dinner Nadia. Raw Danceruk, you are very inspiring. I have never even seen bee pollen but you and everyone else make it sound wonderful. I think I will order me some tomorrow. Well I guess its enema time again.... See ya later.

I had a very, very similar day too. Was it day 9 for you too? Like on day 3 I noticed most people over at the other board reported a horrible detox day; it's really nice to be sharing these experiences with others. Unfortunately, I'm still getting food cravings, but it's more like mental obsessions. I'm also a little tired of fruit juice, like apples, but really digging juice from pineapple, grapefruit and especially blood oranges. I'm substituting a quart of carrot/apple/ginger juice a day for a fruit one. I got my full four quarts in today. Yay for me! If I'm going to get any longevity out of this fast, I've got to get a lot of nutrition in.
A lot of feelings are starting to surface. God, it's challenging.

Stina, yes its nice to have company along the journey. Glad Im not alone here. I am feeling better today but still not wanting greens. I did have a qt of yam, pineapple, apple that was soooo good. I have 1 1/2 qts of apple, celery for later and I will have some citrus when I get home tonight. I scheduled a colonic for Wed. afternoon so I will let you know how that goes. I know Ive gotta get some greens back in here to keep up my energy but for now I do feel good. Im going to experiment with green recipes on my off days. I feel like I want something lighter or milder....any suggestions anyone???? Ok Im off to work now. Everyone have a great night!!!

Hey Jen, no, my greens are going down well; I'm surprized at how mellow I'm finding them. I make them as plain as possible, with perhaps three ingredients, like spinach, cucumber and celery. Easy like that. Have you noticed there's goop floating around from spinach juice? Uhg! I open the hatch and pour it down. I'm actually feeling pretty good and my face is looking better; the bloat is going down and the redness in my complexion is subsiding. I'm still somewhat emotionally heavy but I'm doing lots of praying. I've lost seven pounds and I gotta admit I haven't been exercising and really need to start. I'm still pretty scattered but trust that will fade, perhaps it's candida die-off. I've just decided to be gentle on myself. God, raw vegan food is going to taste so very good after this!

Who else is out there?!

does your yam juice come out really starchy? maybe its my juicer, but when i tried it came out seriously gross. i guess i don't like raw yam much to begin with though.

i'm struggling to get in my last 16 oz before bed but i think i can do it. its been a good day. i did an hour of yoga today and 45 minutes at the gym; i felt SO GOOD after my workout. it was great.

last night i felt less than excited about waking up to make my juice in the morning and was trying to figure out how to get in morning yoga and juice making in before work AND get enough sleep. so i made my juices the night before... and it was like my whole outlook for the day changed: i didn't rush with making juices so i made combinations i really enjoyed rather than just throwing stuff together, i went to sleep knowing what i had to drink and feeling excited about it and about the feast, i slept an extra half hour (about 6 hours of sleep), i did my yoga, and i had a really great day. so i did it again tonight. i figure, maybe i'll lose some of the nutrients but its better than making my body acid with stress/annoyance over the process and ending the feast before i'm really ready to. i'm drinking an extra pint of oj to make up for the lost nutrients.

oh and i had blood drawn for blood work today so we'll see what early feasting bloodwork looks like. afterwards i drank a big glass of really really green juice and thought about how i was giving myself fresh blood. ;)

Hi guys, am doing ok this day 7 for me and I feel lighter and have lost some weight which is great, I also want to touch more on the spiritual aspect of me and that is what I will be focusing on now. And yeah I make my juices over night that is the only way I would be able to do this. I have found that for me it works wonders I do make other juices in the mornings like carrots and oranges but the green take a bit more time so I do them overnight. I am really enjoying the journey never knew I could do it so long with work and all but I see where I am coping before this I would have had to to be home lying down so yeah am doing well. Hang in there and blessings to all.

Hi Nadia and congrats on 7 days!!! Pamparred thanks for cheering us on. Cant wait til you join in.

Well its day 11 for me and Im about to experiment with some greens to see if I can find something different. Im a bit bummed because Katrina is suggesting that I move into four means to get your greens, low fat salads, green smoothies etc. I think she is worried because I havent been drinking the amount of greens that I should and I have a very physical job. Ive had some rough detox and my working environment isnt the greatest to fast in. I work in a casino and she says the electro magnetic load drains your energy along with the fact that I carry heavy trays and work late hours. Its also a smoky environment. Im 5'6 and my weight is 117 and I started my feast at 124. She says not to let my weight drop much more. I dont feel ready to stop my feast though. There are spiritual reasons as well as habits/addictions Im working on. So how would I go about gaining a few pounds back??? Maybe extra green juice and extra fruit juice. Im feeling a bit confused right now. How is everyone elses weight??? I didnt think that I had lost too much weight but she seems to feel differently. Ive always had really bad cellulite on my thighs and butt and want to detox enough to break it up and get rid of it. I really feel that it shouldnt be there. Its just globs of toxic fat. It has definately lessened but I know there has to be a way to get some deeper cleaning in there. Juicing seems to be the ONLY thing that has ever helped the cellulite. Ive been mostly raw for going on 2 yrs now, Im very active, and my body is in great shape except for this fatty cellulite. I also know that my circulation needs improvement and this should address that too. Any suggestions anyone. Thanks for listening!!!!

jen, have you watched the video for day 8? they talk a bit about how to keep your weight up during the video conference with people in bc (?). try to drink 5-6 quarts a day and add more calorie dense juices and lots and lots of greens. you could also try weight training with light weights, but i guess you're doing a lot of heavy lifting as it is.

guys i broke my juicer tonight :( i think its finished, won't turn back on. it happened just as i finished making my last pint for tomorrow.

sigh. so i just ordered a vitamix but it might take a week to come. what's a girl to do?

i was thinking about doing a few days of master cleanse with some green juice/celery when i can get it. this kind of threw a wrench in my plans though, i was really getting into the flow.

JEN

Beckx, sorry to hear about your juicer. Maybe it will start up again. Did it get hot??? What kinda juicer is it??? You might ask around in the forum to see if anyone with a juicer like yours has any good advice. If you have any kind of blender you could do green smoothies until your vitamix gets there. I know its not juice but its easier than food. You can pick up a citrus juicer at walmart for about 20$ but youll have to strain the juice thru something. I would probably just consider green smoothies and master cleanse until the blender got there. I have a vitamix and youre in for a real treat. I love mine!!! It grinds nuts better than anything and into a fine flour. It makes smoothies and juice with such ease and the best thing is its super easy to clean.

On a better note for me I had some wonderful green juice tonight. I feel as if Ive finally made peace with my green juice again. I had a qt of spinach, romaine, carrot and it was delicious!! I drank it down really quick and felt so peaceful afterwards that I cried. Now to get 5-6 qts a day in. I will check out the video you suggested. I havent had the time to watch it yet but I will here shortly.

Best of luck with your juicing!!

I can't believe that it's day 12 already! Beckx, sorry to hear about your juicer, hopefully it will start to work again. Jen glad to hear that you're liking the green juices again. Drinking 5 or 6 quarts should help you not lose to much weight.

I'm liking the green juices more than fruit juices right now. Today I made carrot, kale, celery, apple, raddish and tomotoe juice. The other one was strawberry, grape, apple and ginger juice. Last night I bought some hemp oil and bee pollen. Haven't used them yet though. I haven't been doing enema's that much, i'll do one tonight and try and do them more often. I'm going to try and go for a massage tonight, my shoulder is really sore, i've got a huge knot in it.

Have a good day everyone:D

Hey everyone, was a bit groggy this morning and I had a headache. I did not do enemas for 2 days I think I should start again and am going to add bee pollen and kelp and maybe hemp oil to see how things will turn out I am losing weight and I wanted to but I don't want to go beyond 120 am now 129 and was coming from 135. I need to start doing some stretches and maybe weight train. But I feel lighter and am getting in touch with my spirit man. It is just wonderful. Today am feelig a bit hungry but I will just press on and have more juices.
And great news my partner joined in juice feasting today, he is just doing it for one day but at least it rubbed off am hoping my sister and parents will join in as well.

Keep it up! Be encouraged and blessed.

i fixed my juicer!!!! there was a switch on the bottom that the machine flipped to keep me from breaking it; found the switch, flipped it back and now its fine. :)

the vitamix is still coming anyway. good thing i didn't realize last night how to fix the juicer or i wouldn't be waiting for exciting kitchen equipment. i'll have to clear a special spot on the counter. (the downside of this being that now i have to wait and wait and wait to try out vitamix almond milk, warmed soups, ice creams.... oh well.)

today was good until around 4 when i got hit with some stomach cramps/gas. then i got a headache, etc etc. as soon as i got home from work i drank some watermelon juice... tummy and head felt better right away and a really good bm within minutes. it was like magic. i haven't been drinking enough watermelon juice on this feast so far; i didn't want to overdo it with fruit juices but my blood sugar is fine so i should be good to do at least 2 quarts without worry.

just dumped my compost in the garden and gearing up to make juice for tomorrow in an hour or two... maybe more watermelon juice for tonight too.

does it seem like the month is flying by? there's 80 days to go but its the 12th already and i hardly noticed.

Hey guys- overall I've been doing great but right now I'm in a wave of detoxing and feeling discouraged and craving marijuana, which I haven't smoked for over four years. I understand that this is part of the process to totally get the remains out of my body to be truly free of cravings the rest of my life.

I could only suck down two quarts today. I decided to cut myself some slack; I've been really diligent about trying to drink all four every day. I'm still managed to work, which is housecleaning for me. For the most part, I'm pretty energetic and feeling peaceful. I still get cravings for junk food; it will be such a victory for them to fade away.

I'm so tired of colon cleansing. But it's day twelve and I'm still having solids come out, so it's really worth the effort. I'm five foot four and started this at 153 lb and I'm down to 145 lb. so that's gratifying. Also, my face is really looking better. Those disgusting big, black pores have really shrunk in size, the haggard look has faded. It's nice to see some visible progress.

Jen, I'm dealing with cellulite too. It's odd. I'm almost 36, and have only had it for a couple of years. I don't associate it so much with weight gain as shifting hormones as I age. I'm bouncing away on a rebounder trampoline to shake it loose, drinking grapefruit juice and starting to sweat in the sauna.

Love you guys! Blessed Be on your fasting journey:o

Morning everyone:D

Beckx, glad to hear that your juicer is fixed and you also get a new gadget.

This morning I made celery, cucumber, parsley, parsnip, swiss chard and apple juice. The other one is strawberry, apple and grape juice.

I can't believe how fast the time is going. I haven't really missed anything yet. I do feel tired at night though but have tons of energy during the day. I've noticed that my skin is really breaking out, I should start doing enema's again. My eyes have really cleared up, before there used to be alot of red in them.

Beckx, congrats of fixing your juicer :D !!! Nadia, the enemas really do help the headaches oh and lots of water. Janeymack, sounds like youre doing awesome!! Stina, sorry to hear about your struggles. Isnt it funny how long we hold on to things. I think its ok if you cant get all your juices in as long as it doesnt last too long and you dont lose too much weight. Im loving my green juice again. Today I had cuke, celery, spinach....yummers!!! Over 2 qts. I also had yam, pineapple, apple and another blended coconut water and meat with oj then strained. Still trying to keep from losing more weight. Stina, Ive had cellulite since I was pregnant with my first child when I was 17. I didnt eat healthy afterwards and that when it got bad. Ive never been able to get rid of it even with intense exercise. Now that Im raw I dont exercise very much but I have a very active job and Im on my feel for about 7 hrs a night 5 nights a week. Im 38 now. Im a small build and I know my body is not supposed to have that gloppy, toxic, fat there. It doesnt make me dislike myself and Im not ashamed, I just know I can release it. We will see how long it takes. I had a colonic yesterday and it was awesome. I felt great for a while then got a little tired and cranky towards the end of the day. I have had many cranky days during this feast. Sometimes I feel a bit angry. I wish I had more time for myself to listen a little closer.. Gotta run to work.

Happy feasting all!!

Hello!

I'm joining this thread to. I just started day 1 of juice feasting today! I've been having a hard time losing weight and lately I've been slipping away from raw and eating too much crap. I hope to get 100% raw after this feast. I've been feeling pretty good, which I am surprised about. I only lasted one day on the mastercleanse fast. The only thing I've noticed is I'm feeling very cold today - I"m all bundled up.

Thanks,
Carol

Hey Welcome! Yes, I have similar goals with wanting to end junk food addiction. Also, I've got deeply spiritual reasons for going down this path. I'm trying to establish a solid meditation routine for this duration too. Keep us updated on how your Fast is going. We're here to support you. And I like your board name!

Bummer, I think I'm getting pre-diabetic. I just don't think I should be this ridiculously thirsty for water all of the time. And, oh God, the endless trips to the bathroom peeing! I need to figure out how to check my blood sugar level. If I cut out fruit juice, this will be so challenging! It would probably shorten the duration of the fast.

Jen, I was glad to hear you were cranky yesterday; I paralleled you there! I think a lot of toxins are lifting from my body. That fishy taste in my mouth is present a lot, I'm cranky and my tongue is covered in crud. I've resorted to scraping my tongue with a butter knife. Tell you what though, I've streamlined that enema process though!

Okay, everyone, keep in touch! You're in my prayers :)

Stina, you can get blood sugar test kits at chain pharmacies but I had to look at several places before I found one. http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100133&navAction=jump&navCount=0&skuid=sku396868&id=prod396867 Walgreens has it online though, CVS probably has one too on their website. I know the thirst, my mouth was seriously dry no matter how much water/juice I drank for the first few days but its better now. Also peeing all the time on a feast is pretty normal, think about how much liquid you're drinking. I'm pretty sure its different than the diabetes warning sign... But by all means check your blood sugar and make sure everything is ok.

I've been really cranky for the last few days too.

JEN

Stina, I was wondering the same thing about my blood sugar because Ive been really thirsty too even though Im drinking the water. Are you doing msm too??? I wondered if it was making me more thirsty. I dunno I guess I could shoot by mom-in-laws tomorrow to check my blood. She is diabetic and already has a machine and knows how to work it. Maybe our genius bodies are just intuitively telling us we need more water. Im having some as we speak. Nice and warm to put me to sleep. Now if I can just sleep all night without having to pee.
Anyway, zipadeedodaday!!!! I have tons of energy today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone need me to mop, or sweep or clean their windows???? I was like a mad person high on green juice at work tonight. My legs were never tired, my tray was never heavy and I was slammed busy carrying a full tray of drinks and beers in my other hand. If this is what a colonic does then I want a whole series of them. I will be calling tomorrow to make another appt next week. Wow. I dont know if I can sleep.

Rawxstasy, Welcome to the feast. I know you feel cloudy now but it will pass. The clarity it brings is sooo worth it. Hang in there and we will keep you company.

So I was drinking my juice on the way out of work tonight and I was really so full it was hard to drink it. But while I was walking, my mind was saying to myself, man I sure am hungry for something good and hot to eat. Go figure. Then as I started driving home, still sipping my juice I thought, wait a minute, why did I just think that I was hungry because I know clearly that I am not hungry and its all I can do to drink my juice right now. Crazy huh!!

Off to bed....maybe I can meditate myself to sleep.

Everyone have a beautiful, crankyless, happy, healthy day!!

I've got a question. I am peeing so much on this fast - how do you manage with having a job? I'm just starting a new job and I'm wondering if I should drink most of my juices after work or a few hours before. BTW I have a small bladder and I"m not good at holding it in. I don't want to keep running to the bathroom every half hour or so. :)

Eve

Yeah, welcome!!! Fasting is a wonderful spiritual practice and so physically rejuvenating. I'd highly recommend reading the wealth of info over at www.juicefeast.com but here are some highlights of my fast.
-2 to 3 quarts of water a day
- one quart of green juice in th e morning, two quarts of fruit juice throughout the day, a fourth quart of green juice in the evening, that way your body will be flooded with the nutrients and calories you need to not only heal but also keep working and going out into the world
- upon rising in the morning, drink that first quart of water with MSM and lemon juice
- drink a cup of Yogi Smooth Move tea at night and in the morning take Renew Life's Organic Bowel Cleanse. Two weeks fasting and I'm still pooping solid!
- The enema bag is your friend! If you're feeling awful with detoxing, enemas will help. Most fasters would strongly recommend a morning (although I do afternoon) enema for the first three weeks. Colonics if you can afford it.
- Prayer and meditation and journaling are extremely important. Expect a lot of old emotions to surface with detoxing. After four years of not smoking pot, I've had cravings lately. I'm sure my body is cleaning old ThC residue out and triggering it.
- And check in with us for love and moral support and advice! Anything you experience, trust us, we've been there!

Love and Peace,
Stina

Uh-huh, small bladder problem syndrome! It's no joke. I'm going approximately twice an hour too and it's a drag. I'm a housecleaner so it's not a big deal that I duck into the bathroom to pee, since I'm cleaning it anyway......... I wouldn't lay off of the juice too much though, as you'd probably get weak.
How about Depends?:D ;)

It's so wonderful to be able to check in with you guys and see you're experiencing similar problems. So, I'm guessing it's a normal mechanism. My friend checked my blood sugar level this morning and it was 85, which is perfect first thing in the morning, so I guess I'm okay.

I'm really getting into the sauna thing. I bring extra towels to the gym and after my workout, which is easy on the cardio, just bopping around the sissy circuit room and lots of bouncing on the rebounder, I hole up in the sauna with a book. I swear my armpit odor has gotten worse. Ah, any change is a good sign, means I'm detoxing and getting my money's worth out of this fast.

When I'm occasionally hungry, I catch myself thinking that I'm always hungry every day, and that's not true. It still comes and goes. Will it go away for good at some point on this fast? doesn't really matter, it's bearable.

I've been a little irregular with this, but am pretty much in the habit of drinking Smooth Move tea in the evening and taking Organic Bowel cleanse in the morning, which comes in capsules, and I'm still having solid bowel movements. Holy Moly! I've taken ten pounds off in two weeks. And most importantly, I feel great! For the most part......

Hey hey

Checking in been super busy with work and having problems with my eyes, since Jan but still no better, had a rough couple days with it-- had some blended foods just to slow cleansing down so I could carry on without taking painkillers

Seems a lot better now, so back to my juicy time!

Tis day 20 today (2 of those being modified)

I pee all day long too so dont worry!! lol

I am still finding it hard drinking the amount of juice, no matter what I try, only time I get close is at the weekend when I have my juicer at hand all the time. Even then I would rather drink water or MC than juice

Water seems enough...grrr..I am trying tho!!

Hope you lovely rawbies are having a good wkend :o

Rawxstasty, you made it thru the tough days!!! Its smooth sailing from now on.
Rawdanceruk, I hope your eyes get better soon. I imagine you are doing some deep, deep cleaning. Please be careful not to send yourself into a healing crisis. A friend of mine did that once and he ended up very sick for a very long time. Im glad you added some blended food to slow the cleansing. I am curious as to how much weight you have dropped?? You know Ive read that our brains even get clogged with mucus so Im wondering if that is what you are cleansing right now. Once you get past this I bet you will have even deeper clarity and focus. Wow!!!
Im feeling good today so far. Having my water/msm/lemon and Im just about to make my juice. I had 3 qts cucumber/celery/spinach yesterday. It was soo good that I may just have 3 again today. Gonna run for now. Hope everyone is doing great!!!

Have a beautiful day all!!

So far I've had my quart of lemon juice, water and MSM powder.

OK, I need help. It's only day 2 and I'm constantly thinking about raw nori rolls - (at least it's not pizza!) How can I deal with not having something to chew on? I'm not really hungry so I think that's the problem.

very hard problem. I've had to utilize prayer and meditation deeply to deal with this problem. I'm still having mental obsessions about melted cheese and the sensation in my mouth. :( But I'm on day 15 and have got this far. At least you're craving healthy food! I am so so so looking forward to getting back on my raw vegan diet!

Good Lord Woman! You are determined, aren't you:) I salute you on your determination to be healthy and happy. Have you experienced much weight loss and did you need it? I hear you about how difficult it is to get that much juice down. It's really a challenge trying to drink four quarts a juice a day. I think I need to lighten up on the fruit juice, it may be aggravating candida. I get red slashes on my cheeks after I drink fruit juice, so I need to monitor that. I'm getting more on the ball with supplements. Today I purchased bee pollen, hemp oil, oh, what else....yeah, I just can't drink kelp powder in water, so I'm switching over to taking capsules. I want to start targeting the candida and get drinking pau d'arco tea. And juicing garlic, God help me.........it sounds overpowering:confused:
May I ask what's wrong with your eyes? Eyeball health is one particular goal I've wanted to target. I'm very nearsighted and want to improve my vision, plus contant lenses and eye make-up really make them sting, and I really miss wearing both, as I look so much better. I've been sitting in the sauna a lot; I take a book, and was thinking that it's good for my eyeballs. Just an intuitive hunch.

And my body is doing all sorts of strange things as I detox: trippy dreams, acrid body odor, angry feelings, fishy taste in my mouth, still making solid bowel movements, on and on......... But I'm excited even at the aspects of suffering, surely it's progress!:p

Jen! Are you out there? It gets better and better, doesn't it? So this is what they were talking about!

Anyone else still periodically hungry? It's bearable, but will it go away?

Love and Peace and Joy,

Stina from Oregon

Isabelephant, welcome to the feast!! Were having a great time here.

Stina, yep Im still here and still doing great!! My little one caught a stomach bug today and has been ill vomiting with fever. She cant keep anything down. Ive had all my juice though and having a ginger tea right now. Im still really thirsty after my morning water and my green juices. It doesnt seem as bad after my fruit juices. Its hard for me to drink enough water because it sends me to the bathroom too often at work. Im just sooo thirsty. Still need to go check my blood just in case. I too am nearsighted and would love to improve my vision. I dont have any health issues just cellulite and varicose veins that I would to see disappear. I too have had icky sweaty arm pitts and crazy dreams. Gonna hit the sauna more this week hopefully. Still having some solid bms and some liquid. All is well. Still energetic. Off to bed.

Nite all

Hey guys

Had a late night last one.. been lazy and laid in, now doing a blitz of washing/cleaning/hoovering lol

I havent weighed, for the reason I am a bit OCD and dont want to focus on what pounds are changing etc etc. About a dress size down in now 21 days, I am quite happy to stay the same-- weight loss wasnt on my list of things to achieve!

My eyes since Jan I have had a problem with lights/spots-- black and white in my vision, constantly, awake, eyes closed, dark rooms, bright rooms-- had them checked, good eye health, but still the problem is there. When its very bad I get a headache, but otherwise no headache. I have bought some msm drops, give it a try, anything right now but taking a load of medication.

They have calmed down a lot since feasting, which is good, just hope they continue to improve. I dont want to have to start adding fibre-- defeats the object!

I hear ya on juicing garlic!! haha..no-one will come near my desk if I drink that..hmm maybe a plan!

I have been mostly doing fruit, carrots-- and kale/spinach for greens-- combined or as little shots. Although I do get very energised after those, so best for before I go running rather than before bed!!

Have got some little sweet potatoes to try to juice later, feeling brave

Sounds like everyone is doing fab :D

Wowee! There are a lot of juice feasters here!

I'm on Day 1 of my first (possibly TMI ahead!!) Colon Cleanse. I had 3 days to get ready, and now I will be on a juice fast for five days while I take some powder mixed in.

I'm actually feeling a bit of improvement from the 3 days of preparation.

Stina: Geez, you're feasting for 2 weeks and still having solid BM's??? Is it the organic bowel cleanse you're taking that is helping with that?? I have never stuck to my juice fasts for longer than 1-2 days in the past because it makes me feel weird to NOT have solid BM's.

I'll check back in later today. :)

Hi fellow juice feasters! I hope everyone is doing well.
Today is day two for me-I had a headache all day yesterday and woke up with one today but it is gone now. I had a little caffeine :o ...which helped. (i know, i know) and an enema.
Today I had my lemon MSM water and then a delicious quart of juice : 1 head of romaine, 1 bunch celery, 2 granny smith apples, 1 gala apple, 2 meyers lemons-blended with 1 T Flax oil and 1T Bee Pollen. It tasted rich and dare I say almost chocolatey? Never tried this combo with lemons and man what a difference!
I'm trying to make all of my juices taste delicious-before when I have fasted, I didn't care so much how they tasted-esp the green ones-I'd just choke them down because they were "good for me". This time however I believe I (and everyone) deserves to drink only the best-and that means it's got to be delicious! Hopefully this delicious tactic will help me stay on this fast for over two weeks...
Just had lunch: 2 oranges and 1 grapefruit juiced with MSM. Yum!
How is everyone else doing??

Hey my Fellow Fasters-

I tried a wonderful juice recipe I learned about from Katrina on www.globaljuicefeast.com It went something like this:
cilantro
parsely
basil
dill
several tomatoes
garlic
1/2 jalapeno pepper
two stalks of celery
1/2 cucumber

You can see that there could be a lot of variations on that. I really needed something different today, and that really hit the spot. I felt like I was having soup. And it was a warming sensation, which made me realize the cooling aspects of the greens is getting to me and I need to counter act that with ginger and jalapeno and cayenne.

I have this little lump under my chin. It's been there for a few hours. I used to have issues with fibrocystic breast lumps, so I figured it's of the same nature, hopefully, huh. So, it's been tingling and sore for a couple of days and I'm wondering if it's breaking up and dissolving. I'm also doing visualization exercises shooting light and energy into it as I rub it. If anyone has any feedback on that, that'd be great.

Hey, Eva, yes, I think the colon cleansing is extremely important, so I drink Yogi Tea Smooth Move in the evening and take Renew Life's Organic Bowel Cleanse, 5 capsules, during the day, and I'm certainly getting my money's worth! And some enemas too. I'm not doing any of that religiously. Some days I use some of these tools and not others. I do the best I can. I will be so grateful to get out of the colon-cleansing phase of this fast and to quit messing around with my butt! but I'm even more grateful that I'm experiencing such deep cleansing of my intestinal track; it'll make me so much healthier and happier in the future.

Rawextasy- David and Katrina recommend consuming bee pollen on the global juice feast; that could be something for you to chew on. I just bought some and am immensely enjoying it.

I've cut back to 1/2 quarts of fruit juice instead of 2 whole ones. It's fun experimenting and listening to what my body needs and wants.

Gotta run and go babysit. Love you all! If you return to eating, please let us know how it goes. It's a difficult transition, can trigger binge eating, please let us pray for you and send you good energy!

Hi everyone!!! Glad to see all is well in our feasting family!!!
Im just about to hit the sack. Had an exhausting night at work after getting hardly any sleep last night (my little one is sick) and didnt get all my fruit juice in. I even had a little coffee again. I guess I was thinking that it would wake me up, only it didnt. I really do miss my coffee. This is really an issue for me. I dont know why Im so attached to it. I just love the taste and the comfort. Ive been having ginger tea but its not the same. Its weird cuz I can totally give up food for juice, but Im really wanting my coffee. When I think about not having it I get very cranky and ill at everyone:( . I guess I need to meditate on it and see what happens. Other than that Im doing well. I did get in 2 1/2 qts of green juice, lots of water, 1 qt watermelon juice.

Glad you all are here!!

hi all, i returned to solids a few days ago for a number of reasons. its going well, i find that i really crave salads which i hadn't been interested in last month - i just wanted heavy dehydrated foods and was craving some cooked food. i also find that i'm not very interested in fruit, which is strange for me. i have still been drinking a lot of juice and getting my greens and have only overeaten once. i am missing feasting a little - i was really loving that feeling of lightness. i'm thinking about coming back in a week or two as i know i still have work to do. one of my big reasons for coming off the feast was a lot of emotional detox which i was unprepared to deal with... it seems like i also got hit hard with pms at the same time, which rarely happens to me. i felt like crying every waking moment, which made working and functioning pretty difficult. anyone else have this experience?

i'm glad to hear that everyone is doing so well! congratulations!

Hi everyone good to see you all are well. Beckx I am having those feelings as well but I try to meditate and but sometimes it does get the better of me. I really have to pray hard as these feelings surface. This is day 12 for me yesterday I did not get in enough juice becase I was at the lab(I am a research graduate student). Was tempted to eat but was not really hungry. I just made my juices and cooked for everyone else. The greatest temptation is in the fact that I have to prepare meals and still have juices, I have even craved salads but none the less I hold on.

Hang in there! Blessings I have to run.

Wait, which days are the tough days?

Day 4 for me here (I started late) but really, I can barely believe I'm on a cleanse at all. This is weird, since I expected to be having a lot of detox symptoms and general unpleasantness. Most of the time I feel exactly the same as normal, though headachy and tired/weak in the evenings. Anyone else deal with this and what possible solutions would you suggest?

I'm drinking exactly the prescribed amounts and really varying my greens. I also take some E3Live in the morning, perhaps I need to take a little more in the afternoon/evening? Or perhaps I just need to drink more water. I get in a pint or so in the morning but since I'm already drinking so much it's a real challenge to drink more.

Overall though, no complaints. I haven't had hunger or cravings, emotional detox, fuzzy teeth, acne, etc. Hmm. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Cheers,
Eve

Hey congratulations on fasting Eve! I'm wondering how clean your system was beforehand. Were you eating raw and pretty healthy? Maybe that would explain your lack of detoxing? Also, I'm using supplements to scrape my intestines clean (charming, I know) and that can kinda contaminate my system before it gets out.
But yeah, isn't it a great protocol? It's empowering me to successfully fast at a deeper level for a longer duration than ever before. David and Katrina Rainochek are wonderful!

Day 3 and everything is going well!
Eveleaf, I too have had little detox symptoms so far-a headache and some easy-to-tears yesterday but other than that no real detox symptoms. Don't worry though-you are doing everything right. Maybe they'll come later, maybe not. Every body is different and every fast is different for every one.
Today I am at work, and so I had to get up early to make my juice for the day.
1 Qt MSM and water and Vit C powder
1 Qt Orange/grapefruit
2 Qts Romaine/Kale/Celery/Grannysmith/lemon with bee pollen, Udon 3-6-9 oil, probiotic powder YUM!

20 minutes on the Eliptical

I'll have another Qt of something when I get home.
How is everyone else doing??

Well, I've been mostly raw for almost two years, but February and early March saw way too many slip ups into SAD territory. So I wouldn't say that I was especially clean going into this.

OK, I just made the YUMMIEST juice and I just had to share:

1 pineapple
3 apples
1 red pepper
5 carrots
1 tsp flax oil

This makes about 1 Q of juice that tastes amazingly like a mild sweet and sour sauce. It's so so so good! I wish I had a lot more.

Hey guys,

Wow, I'm successfully fasting. I had some definite detoxing yesterday and strangely, gained two pounds! My body must be up to something, but I'll trust it's wisdom. I get really fuzzy brained when I'm detoxing. I'm not exactly high-functioning for this phase of my life. I'm only working part-time, and can't afford to be doing that, but can't afford not to juice feast either. I still get hungry. I still get cravings for junk food. But I'm okay. Is today the 18th of March? Then I got eighteen days of fasting under my belt. That's amazing for a food addict like me. My back has been aching and I wonder if that will get better with the fast or if that will need outside intervention like yoga and massage therapy.
Well, I've got a full day ahead of me and I've packed a little cooler with my quarts of juice.
God, I am so looking forward to eating Raw food!!!

Have a great day, juice feasters!

Congrats Stina! 18 days is a long time!
Day 4 for me. Feeling great still. Haven't been hungry at all. Occasional mild cravings come up and smelling the food my coworkers are eating is...not easy. :o I've come up with a new technique for dealing with cravings or strong smells of food.
1. For strong smells of food: I breath DEEP. I used to kind of hold my breath to keep from smelling the food. Instead now I take long deep breaths. Instead of getting tense and feeling defensive of the food, I accept it and breath it. The craving for it immediately leaves me. I am happy with my juice. :)
2. When a strong craving comes over me I tell myself: This too shall pass. It is not that I can never eat that which I crave, I just won't eat it until I am done fasting. Just for today I am fasting-one day at a time.
Or should I say "feasting"-indeed I am never hungry!
Off to get a massage tonight-ahhhhhh.
How is everyone else doing?
:)

Hey guys, just checking in. Day 5 for me~!

I'm doing fine, got a little sore throat but nothing major. My blinding headache from the weekend is gone (yay) and my energy levels have evened out some. I'm also enjoying looking better too - yep, only on day 5 and I can tell I look better! My skin is ruddier and face is a little less puffy. I think I can see a slimmer body emerging too, but that one might take a little longer to manifest.

I'm personally glad to be jumping through this rabbit hole. Not coming out until I have to! I wish I could go the whole 92 days and I *feel* committed enough to. This is kind of a bummer...but sometime around May-ish (could be June, I'm not sure) I'm flying to VT to spend a week with my best friend/boyfriend and I know I won't juice while I'm there. He's totally freaked out about this juicing thing (thinks I'm dangerously destroying my health - he's not even comfortable with the idea of raw food yet) AND he's a pastry chef and will be really hurt if I come to see him and then won't even sample the things he's prepared for me.

So my plan all along has been to commit to 100% juice, no cheating AT ALL (don't even THINK that it's an option and it WON'T be an option) right up until 10 days before the trip. I'm really settled on that, even though it might be like 50-60 days of juicing for me, instead of the whole 92. And then a little part of me kind of hopes the trip gets delayed and I get to extend this to 92 days afterall. :D

I keep reminding myself of the reasons I am doing this.

#1 Break food addiction. Going raw helped with that, but didn't really solve the problem when I just found raw ways to use food to keep drugging myself (*cough cough* bowls of cacao pudding and nut cheese) and also winked at so many cooked food slip ups. Over time those piled up and made it easier and easier to eat SAD, so that sometimes I honestly felt like a LIAR when telling someone I was a rawfoodist. I need to get really centered in my choices and let health and raw foods come back into focus for me. I'll know I've accomplished this when I start craving raw foods ONLY and the thought of pizza or candy no longer sends me into an emotional frenzy. ::checks self:: Nope, not there yet! :)

#2 Lose weight. Yes, I know juice fasting isn't a diet. And my primary reason for doing this *isn't* to drop pounds. But it needs to be done anyway and it's certainly incentive to keep going.

#3 Overall detox, deep cleanse, yada yada. This one is kind of vague because I'm not really suffering from anything severe that raw foods alone doesn't pretty much take care of. But I also realise there IS stuff that needs healing that I'm just not aware of, and I'm really looking forward to the improvements that I don't even know about yet, but will come forward as this juicing fast progresses.

OK, oops, I wrote a little novella here. Sorry guys, here's your thread back!

Hi everyone!!!
Congrats on all your accomplishments!!!!

Day 18 here too and boy has it been a rough few days. My coffee cravings are taking a toll on my frame of mind!!! Im surprised anyone wants to be around me. I have really got to make some space between me and my coffee addiction. I have had pretty strong food cravings for a couple of days too. I went 2 nights with hardley any sleep because my little one was up sick all night and I havent been getting all my juice in. I was feeling a bit unsatisfied with my juice and the food cravings got pretty intense everytime my family would eat. On a better note, I made the soup juice Stina, David, and Katrina reccommended. It is soooo good. Talk about satisfying!!! The herbs add so much flavor to it. I will be drinking this for a few days.
Stina, I know what your mean about the back pain. Ive had a lot in my upper back. I get that everytime I have detox. I was having it really bad due to lack of sleep the past few days but I got my second colonic today and it seems to have subsided. Im still getting really thirsty after my green juices. The dry mouth is very intense and annoying. How has it been for you?? Im sure the coffee Ive here and there doesnt help. I really need to figure out how to deal with it. I thought of trying yerba mate that many have reccommended although I dont know anything about it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I think its awesome that we all realize our addictions....thats the beginning.

Much love to all!!

Yeah, I got a recommendation on dealing with coffee addiction! And I was drinking coffee up until just a couple of days before I started fasting. Do a coffee enema! I'm serious!

Yes, I'm still surprizingly thirsty. I kinda got to make myself drink those green juices. My mouth feels like a green swamp. My tongue is so coated with toxins in the morning that it actually kinda stings with this nasty acrid taste. I scrape it with a butter knife! I'm feeling better today, although a little sad and down, a lot better than yesterday. But the extenuating circumstances of my life are really hard right now; I'm actually doing pretty good.
Sadly, I'm still grossly craving hot dogs and melted cheese. I watched Alissa's DVD to brain wash myself. It wouldn't seem like a good idea to watch food prep while fasting but I'm psyching myself up for raw food instead of dead food.

This is really challenging, yeah, a bit of an understatement!

This is day 15 for me and I have had cravings I must try what stina suggested and see, I am comitted I love the way I feel and just am taking it one day at a time I just pray and ask for grace to continue on this journey. I am even listening toraw food lectures to stop the cravings and am reading about raw foods. I believe a lot of emotional cleansing is going on as well. Can anyone tell me how long do I have to do the enemas and can I not use something instead. I juiced aloe vera last night and it worked wonders for me. Just wondering if I still have tohave the enemas.

Day 6 for me, I'm doing great. The best part about this thing for me is the *routine*, in that I don't have to make any decisions about, hmm, should I juice today, or should I eat? The decisions are already made and the juice is already made, and I just flow with it.

I'm struggling to get in a gallon of juice every day, I think I've only actually gotten that 1 day so far, usually I am a cup or two short. But I'm working on it!

Leah, it will be so awesome to have you on board too!

OMG, as I sit here typing my stomach is making the most INSANELY loud gurgling noises, I'm afraid my coworkers are going to come over and investigate! It sounds like Jabba is over here eating me, I swear.
But I'm not hungry, get with the program already, stomach!

I know the enemas are unpleasant and uncomfortable and downright disgusting, but apparently they're important. Have you studied the info over at juicefeast.com? I'm very impressed that David and Katrina Rainoshek have put together the most comprehensive program to target cleansing and healing with the minimum of suffering, hence the enemas. You might be surprized what's up there........

Im just sitting here enjoying my
carrot

cilantro
italian parsley

liquid soup :D

UUUM UUUM GOOD!!!

This is the best juice ever on a slightly chilly night. If you get bored with your juice Stina was right, this is soooo good. Still hanging in here and doing good. Feeling really hungry lately. This time the hunger seems to be more in my stomach than my head. I want to put everything in my mouth. Smells are driving me crazy. I keep asking myself over and over if I really want to keep going. Its much easier when I am working because I have less time to think about it. My tummy is just a rumbling right now even though Im drinking juice. Im still maintaining my weight at 117, so thats a good thing. I need to find out how to do a coffee enema again. I did one a couple of years ago when I first went raw but I dont remember exactly how. Does anyone know if it is in the juicefeast site?? Im gonna see if it will help with my coffee cravings. See you all tomorrow.

Hi everyone, hope you all doing well. Stina I think I may have hemrroids and the enema makes it worst. I really am seeing alot come out even with the aloe yesterday and today alot of aweful stuff came out. I got this without the enema just with aloe and grapefruit juice. Do you think I need to do the enemas still. Is there anything David mentioned about hemrroids? I wanted to wait till I heal before doing one again. It really hurts to do them now.

Otherwise I am fine and doing ok and I am uping my juices as well I have not lost any more weight I was at 144 when I started I believe and now am at 128. I am exercising and trying a little weights cause I want to build muscles as well.
Okay guys got to run.

I can't believe it's day 6 already for me and everything is going so wonderfully!
I have lots of energy and I am in great spirits. I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 6 lbs. I've had a couple of moments where it is hard not to reach for some food and eat it but other than that, no hunger and no cravings. I've added a Tbsp of maca to my green juice for the past two days and WOW. :)
I feel like my cells are busy working to clean things out. I've got a bit of a glow and euphoria. Sleeping well and exercising each day.
At this point I feel like i could go on and on with this feast but I'm trying to just take it one day at a time.
How is everyone else doing?

Hi Isa!

I always like reading your posts. Are you participating over at www.globaljuicefeast.com? I am, but as I'm only seven days into this I'm way behind everyone else. It's nice to see someone here who is about the same place I am!

Ooh I had the worst dream last night! I dreamt that I was half-asleep and someone gave me some beef taquitos to eat, and I ate them before I remembered I was on a juice feast. Afterwards I realised what I'd done and I was SO incredibly upset about it. Then of course I woke up and realised everything was fine, but whoa, that feeling of despair and disappointment has been clinging to me all day.

It's made me realise a few important things:

1) This juice feast is way-o important to me. Not just participating in it, but doing it right with absolutely no cheating. I have placed an enormous amount of emotion in it. And my vision of it, for good or ill, is that it *must* be done perfectly or I might as well not do it at all.

I've been raw, and slipped into cooked food, and back and forth hundreds of times, with little to no guilt about it. Because that's life, and life is full of imperfections, and you just accept that and are grateful for the little improvements you are able to accomplish along the way. But SOME things have to be done right. In some areas of life perfection is necessary. Eye surgery, for example. For some things in life we do demand a higher standard in order to accomplish something of greater importance, and to me, this juice fast is one of those things. I'm doing eye surgery on my life! I don't want to *try* to do it, give it half my efforts, throw in the towel at the first sign of difficulty and then walk away thinking, "Oh well, I suppose that was too hard for me." I am determined to succeed in this.

2) I don't really trust myself. I think perhaps it was realising one second too late that I'd taken the sacrament (tiny crust of bread w/ water), completely out of habit, last Sunday that did it. But I really am scared that despite my best efforts and 100% willpower and commitment, I'll *accidentally* eat something. I'm not so much afraid of giving in to temptation, because I count on myself to overcome that. But it's the fear that I'll mindlessly eat something and ruin this that is worrying me. Hopefully as time goes on and I prove to myself that I can be trusted, this fear will be eased.

So what changes have you noticed so far in your body? I've lost a few pounds too, and I can start to see more definition in my face, which is nice. I have a pretty face when it's not puffy or bloated or discoloured with toxins. :) It will be nice to get that back again. And the last few weeks I'd noticed my thighs were looking seriously blue, I don't know why, I assume something funky going on with my veins there. But today after my shower I realised they are back to a healthy colour so I'm happy to see that.

Well good luck with your day, everyone!

Everleaf,

I clicked on the link to your 7 month transformation and I am very impressed!! Have you been able to keep the weight off? I did two days on juice feast and day 3, I ended up eating something because my family kept complaining that I'm going to get sick, etc if I don't eat. The next few days I did the juices but ended up eating something each day. I am starting over again! I am away from family now ( at school) so it will be much easier to do the feast. I did release alot of toxins on day 3, my tongue was white! I feel like it's going to be easier to stick with it this time.

Just wanted to give a update!

Hi everyone!! Hope you are all doing well. I need some help here. Im having terrible back aches and I think I either need to stop my fast or add in something to slow it down. As Ive mentioned before Im a cocktail waitress and I walk a lot for an 8 hr shift carrying a heavy tray. I would say I walk a minimum of 5 miles a night maybe more. I dont even know for sure, just a lot of walking with heavy trays. My back is really hurting me a lot. I have to stretch everytime I walk in the bar to get my drinks. Its hard to take and I dont know if my body is weak or its detox. All I know is its affecting my job more than I can allow. Will it throw my body out of whack to add in some smoothies or blended juice without straining the pulp or even soups. I dont want to aggravate my system. If I can just get past this back ache maybe I can rotate so many days of just juice and so many days of blended foods/juice. Im going to email Katrina to see if I can get a quick response. Hoping someone with some experience can help me here. I gotta ease this back ache for tonight at work. Thanks in advance!!

Hi everyone,

Jen, I have a sore back at the moment to. I'm not sure but maybe having some green smothies would help. I haven't tried that, I don't have to work for 4 days so i'm hoping that it will be gone when i do have to go back to work but if it doesn't i sit all day so it should be alright. I hope that yours gets better.
Rawkstasy I'm sure that you'll continue on.

Right now i'm having my msm lemon water. I like it so much better now, before i wasn't putting in enough water, i was only having it in a cup of water. I'm going to try and get in the full amount of juice today. So far i haven't been able to.

Have a good day everyone.

Hope everyone is having a great Easter!!

4 days off work is like bliss :D

Feeling good at the moment although I have a runny nose like mad, dont know whyyyy.. more detox..plus everyone at work is sick..I dunno!

Upping my vitamin C consumption for now, lots of oranges, MC and berry juice!

On a good note I am back in my old jeans and my old bras! yipee.. really would like to go down a few bra sizes, apart from that am happy :o

Everyone is doing such a fab job!!

Jen perhaps add some blended smoothies for a short while just to slow down the cleansing action? I was getting such intense problems with my eyes I couldnt work, so I had to add some in-- now I feel stronger and able to continue..an idea maybe? just go slow at first

Happy Easter juicy rawbies!

Day 7 and still going strong! I'm feeling a bit different today-maybe its the full moon and maybe things are starting to shift inside me. Yesterday afternoon I got very tired and last night I had huge cravings and almost ate, I also had big bags under my eyes. I think I didn't drink enough juice. I am SO glad I did not break~I feel like I moved into a new zone overnight. I really feel my body starting to cleanse on a deeper level today. I'm not sure how to describe it...but I feel nourished like I never have before. I'm noticing food a bit more but trying to not give it any time in my head. I don't think I'm hungry-just missing the ability to lazily eat whatever I want when I want to...if that makes sense.
For some reason I keep feeling that days 12-14 are really going to be big for me-either very challenging or a period of deep cleansing.
I've noticed that my body really responds to the green juice when I make it in the morning. When I look at the deep green liquid gold I feel all my cells -especially in my lower abdomin-get really excited and rev up!! YUM!! It's almost like they want to reach out and grab it! :D
Jen I hope things get better for you, whatever you decide to do. Rawxstasy I'm glad you are back!
I feel so lucky to be feasting at this time!

Hi Nadia- I'd recommend getting Yogi brand Smooth Move Tea. I can't drink more than one cup without getting abdominal pain but it's really helping move things along. Also, I'm using Renew Life's Organic Bowel Cleanse. That soaks up toxins and kinda scrapes the intestines clean and then the laxative tea moves it out. I'm on day 22 and still bowel cleansing; it just keeps coming out! I started at 155 lb at 5'4" so I was somewhat overweight. Alas, all of that gluten and cheese over the years! Hey, good job though- to do any cleansing and fasting:)

Isabelephant,

Hey, I've got really dark circles under my eyes to at the age of 35, 36 on April 3rd. My fast is not affecting them for the better at this point, plus my weight loss seems to be slow, which makes me think my body must be focusing on some deep healing:confused: I trust it to do it's thing.

Jen Hi there! It's day 22 for me and I'm hanging in there. My body is unfortunately telling me to continue colon cleansing- white tongue and, well, stuff is still coming out. It's like I had paper mache intestines or something. Sounds like your intuition is telling you to do a fiber sweep with the green smoothies. I'm doing a little housecleaning and caretaking with senior citizens, but it's not the grueling work waitressing is. I know, I've done it. Not only the heavy trays for my small frame were challenging but dealing with the energy dynamics of all of the personalities and having the income dependent on others' moods who are food addicts!

Raw danceruk Wow! Day 26!! Wait, Wow! What are your goals for doing this? I'd be bummed to lose a bra size, as I'm enjoying a little cleavage for the first time ever with the extra weight I'm carrying!

Hello Janeymack- I too love MSM/lemon water in the morning. It's so refreshing! I finally found the morning beverage I've been searching for for a long time. Now, healing miracles please kick in!

The glands under my arms are rather swollen and pulsing lightly with pain. I guess this is part of the discharge process. I've kept them so clogged up with junky animal food over the years, especially dairy. I'm still having intense, insane cravings for cheese in particular, and I think it's actually related to the lymphatic condition I'm experiencing. I'm always turning it over in my mind whether or not I'm going to go back to eating cheese when I'm done. Nuts! Why? So I can give myself lymphatic cancer? Please! I'm reading raw food prep books to brainwash myself, inspire myself and give myself those images instead of junk food. Anyone else that crazy?

Love you guys! Keep in touch, including your transitioning back to eating!

Peace from Oregon

I don't have too much family around to deal with that pressure; it's gotta be so hard. I've actually only told a few friends. Strangely, no one seems to have noticed I've dropped this chunk of weight in a small period of time:D . I've said I was going to start so many fasts and bottomed out right away but for some reason this one clicked for me. I was so desperate for a change. My primary reasons for doing this are spiritual ones. Hey, keep in touch!

Hi Everyone!!! Congrats on how great you are all doing!!!

Stina and RawDancer you are my heros!!!

Im feeling better as far as not being as weak now but I add in some blended foods/smoothies and avocado. The avocado really seemed to help my weakness but it made my stomach feel terrible:( I feel like I traded one uncomfortable feeling for another. I think the stomach ache is worse than the weakness. I have come to intuitively feel that we just dont need to eat very much food. Of course everyone around me thinks Im out of my mind. Im thinking I will just start doing juice again for maybe 5 days and then light fruit for a couple of days and just rotate doing that for a while. I have never really cared much for green smoothies anyway, they just blow me up and so does avocado. I read in the freedom fasting site that you could add in small amounts of avocado to slow down cleansing but its just not working for me.

Im also wondering what I need to get more out of my bowel movements. I had my second colonic last week and it didnt seem like much came out. The thoughts of drinking clay makes me gag. What about something like bleesed herbs??? Anyone ever tried it. A long time raw friend of mine said it worked well for him. Stina how much is the bowel cleanse getting out for you??? Or maybe I just dont have that much in there..... I dunno....Any thoughts???

Gotta run
Happy Easter Everyone!!!

Jen, the Blessed Herbs cleanse is basically an herbal formula (similar to IMF or most of those colon cleanse herbal formulas I believe) + a bentonite/psyllium shake... so you're looking at clay either way ;) Its really not that bad, the texture of the psyllium is the 'worst' part, the clay doesn't taste like much and its such a small amount.

Congrats everyone on such a great feast so far. I think I'm starting again in a couple of days.

Just checking in

Jen.. hope you are feeling a bit better? .. try some warm water enema, herbal enema -- maybe some detox tea. Rest lots..

Having some serious mad thoughts, shifts and stuff right now, was up till 2am just visulising and getting ideas out

Stina..for me..the goal is Taking focus off food, and realising my potential. Having the mental clairty to get my cheffing/business off the ground.. its rolling..so I am feeling good..

My blog probably reads like a nutters right now..but my minds working overtime..I switched off the tele and been just watching lecture after lecture David Wolfe, Shazzie, Kate wood..

Building some muscle and loosing some breast size is just a bonus for me! I am sitting at a 32GG/H right now, want to get down to an F, that comfortable for me, but I havent been threre in 5 years..so hoping they will reduce more. I think the surgery is awful and mutilation..hoping feasting will do it for me..natural and supple results!!!

Yeah, I've kept the weight off. Just haven't gotten any *more* off, lol. And I still have a lot to lose. But I have food "issues" and still overeat. That's one thing I am hoping this juice fast will help me with. :)

Hello-I hope everyone had a good weekend.
Mine was tough -involving tons of food-the hardest time I've had so far. Plus it was difficult for me to make enough juice. Anyway it was a wonderful weekend and I'm glad I am still going and I didn't eat. I'm feeling good but lots of cravings-just trying to stay focused on the moment. My face is looking more radiant if I do say so for myself. I haven't "gone" in two days. I had a huge release of gunk on Friday and then nothing over the weekend. I was camping so i couldn't help things along with an enema. It's good to be home and back to my normal routine.
I hope everyone else is doing well!

Guys this is day 4 for me and I am going through some really painful emotional detox. I am usually a positive person and can see the bright side of things no matter how bad my situation gets. I've noticed that today I am really down and just been crying intermittently about my life situation but I have decided that I have to just face the pain and that's the only way I can heal. Has anyone else gone through an emotional detox on the fast? I'm just wondering if I should try to put my usual bright spin on things too make myself feel better, but my intuition is telling me I need to face this pain.

Hi everyone just checking in. my weekend was ok, except for Sunday I went to church and then to my lab and did not carry enough juice so I felt really bad and thought of giving up but I will continue. I know this is a journey I must make and at the end of it I will have accomplished something. I must be honest again I am tempted as I am the main person that cooks in my household and my parents and sister don't want to go raw. But I believe that when they see the transformation in my life it will impart their lives as well. I am at work and now having a green juice and am just trusting for grace to make it through. I have seen the threads and I just encourage everyone to continue and to say to them you can do it.

I was already considering this before my detox started. I would love to keep going but I am going to do 100% raw after this and that will help support my growth. So how do I end the fast?

Hey you guys. I had a hard time. I ate last night and it wasn't the ideal way to end my fast. My life is chaotic right now. I won't have a vehible until the end of the week and have been dependent on others for rides, plus I'm staying with a friend and don't have a proper kitchen or fridge space. Not to mention I'm underemployed and funds are tight. Now that I think about it, I can't believe I managed to do any fasting! I'm really desperate to change my life, hence the fasting. Well, when I wasn't getting enough juice and starting to feel weak for several days and when my friend cooked a warm dinner, I just didn't have the strength to fight my desire to eat it. Up until then I had a comfortable bubble around me protecting me from my own appetite.
Well, there's no point beating myself up for it; it's a learning lesson. but here's the thing; the next morning my friend gave me a ride somewhere and a wicked tongue lashing; she's really not a morning person. And that quiet voice in me was like, Stina, that's what's coming down the pike for you with eating that kinda food. I'm rededicating myself to my fast, but out of economic need I'm going to try the Master Cleanse. I'm scared, but I was scared to do juice feasting and that went well.
So.........it was apparently meant to happen for a deeper spiritual lesson. The extenuating circumstances of my life seem to be unraveling and that's okay. After living in America's number one retirement community of Florence, Oregon I'm ready for a change to Eugene, Oregon more sooner than later.
I'm going to study the threads for MC. for how long? who knows....
Wish me luck guys. What a journey!

Love, Stina

Wow, rawdancer -- 30 days is long! Nice work!

Stina -- Your posts make it very clear that you are strong in so many ways. Sometimes we must have weak moments to learn a valuable lesson.

Perhaps it would be worth considering a green smoothie fast if you felt inclined. It's a lot less expensive than juicing, but I would expect it would help bring you to your core and peel the onion away.

Whatever you choose, I'm sure you will do what is best for you. I'm sorry that I don't have any information to offer on the Master Cleanse. I never did it because I have a history of ulcers and can't imagine that much cayenne that often.

You are going to get through this and feel better than ever!! I had some REALLY painful emotional detox just from going raw. I almost kicked my husband to the curb, brought up some issues from childhood, etc.

But I'm through it. And it's so worth giving your body the opportunity to turn pain around toward following dreams that may not have been allowed in your life or who knows what...

I ended up breaking my juice fast on the night of Day 10. Funny how I made it through the worst weekend camping and surrounded by food and temptation-yet I couldn't take it anymore. On Monday I was just sick of obsessing about food. I couldn't stand the thought of drinking any more juice. I went back and forth trying to have the willpower but eventually I just was sick of being strong and felt like I didn't want to go through it anymore. I wish I had kept going and I felt TERRIBLE for breaking it as I knew I was ending it before I was truely done. I feel silly saying I cried but...i did. It was really not the right time to quit. I quickly moved away from feeling guilty and stopped beating myself up. I had never set a specific length for my feast so...10 days was enough for me at that time. Like I said I do wish I had kept going. If I had not gone on that weekend trip I believe I would still be fasting. Next time I will be sure to protect myself more during a fast and not force myself to go through such a challenge.
I hope everyone else who is still going is doing well. I've been fine going back to solid food. No ill effects at all!
Take care! :)

Is anybody still in this thing with me?

::sad::

I'm sorry you're having a tough time, isa.

I'm on Day 13 and things are fine. I had a really hard day yesterday from stress and emotions and wouldn't be a bit surprised if some of that was detox-y stuff. On the other hand I feel very grateful because as scared as I get when I think about 92 DAYS I still haven't been seriously tempted to quit. I'm happy with things so far. I miss eating, but I'll likely always miss eating (some things), because some things I just shouldn't eat anyway, and that's probably always going to sting emotionally. So what.

It feels good to drink, knowing how well my body is nourished and able to cleanse. It feels good to lie in bed at night with my stomach stretching inwards in a way I don't think I have ever felt before. It feels good to take pictures every few days, noticing new definition in my face and figure. But mostly it feels good to free fall down this rabbit hole and take part fully in the adventure that comes to me, with its highs and lows and twists and turns. Every day is another discovery and I want to see what comes tomorrow, even if it's painful. Even if it's sweet.

Stina, congrats on how far you did go!!! I know what you mean about comfort and weakness. I had the same issues. Ive had entirely too many avocados this week and my stomach is soooo bloated. Im making a raw cheesecake right now too. Its not so much to eat but Im trying to mock a berry lemon cheesecake recipe for my family. I cant decide if I want to go right back to juicing or if I want to eat just fruits for a few days first. I think I will do the juice again starting tomorrow. I just made up my mind. Sorry about your car and lack of employment. It is definately a bit costly to make juice. I am blessed to have a job that allows me to do this although it is not what I want to do for the rest of my life. Be careful of what you eat this week so you dont blow your tummy up like I did. If you have a blender, blend your food/fruits first. I had some green soups but made the mistake of adding avocado. It would have probably been fine if I just added a very small piece instead of the whole thing. I also did have some really good bms this week. Some that looked like the shape of my intestines so I know it had been there for a while. Be on the lookout!! If you do the master cleanse you might consider a little juice or smoothies here and there as it tends to make me very weak. 10 days was a very rough ride on the master cleanse for me. I drop weight really fast on the mc too. I plan on doing a day of it here and there this time during my feast. Good luck in whatever you do.

Eve, Nadia, and RawDancer congrats on how great youre doing!!! Keep up the great feasting!! I will keep cheering you on!!!

Isabelephant, 10 days is a great accomplishment no need to feel bad. Think of how many years we programmed ourselves to eat the way we used to eat. I think weve come a long way baby!!! I can tell you that all the girls I work with think Im crazy. They all sit around saying "I dont know how you do it. I sure couldnt do it. I could never go without food". So 10 days is worth a big WOW!!! YOU DID IT!!! And next time youll do 12 or 15, then 21, then 30 and so on. That how its been for me. My fasts get easier and easier each time. So far this time I accomplished losing my taste for coffee. I struggled thru my feast wanting it and even having it some and now I just cant drink it. WOW for me!! I have had many battles with coffee but this time its different. So only time will tell and we will just see what happens next.

Congrats to all!!

Big Hugs
Jeannie

Hey guys! Two days on the Master Cleanse and I don't know about this......my head is swimming and I'm wondering if I'm feeding candida with the maple syrup. Anyone know? Surely this has been addressed before. The thing is, my fasting brought this lump up on my neck! Yeah...... I scraped somewhat deeply into the cleansing phase and only saw the tip of the ice berg when it comes to the healing phase. Now I got a couple of lumps that surfaced wanting dealt with.
Well, I started a new job as a caretaker for senior citizens where I'm a health home care aid. I don't mean to sound lazy but it's so easy. I just hang out one on one with them in their home. This is the kinda job I can handle fasting:) Now I just need more hours. I really need to pray and meditate; I don't want to feel like I'm floundering with this fast, then again, am I ready to really challenge myself and my food addiction and my fears and keep taking the next step into the unknown? Alas, the saga continues......:D
You guys, thanks so much for the love and support! I'm so touched- truly!:p

Peace, Stina

Thank you Jen and Eveleaf for your support! I've done other fasts before and have gone over 10 days before-this time I really wanted to break my own record but thats my ego talking :) I still wish I hadn't broken so I offer my support to you guys and a big congrats for you making it so long!
After two days off, I'm jumping back on tomorrow. Another "Day One" for me :) I'm excited! I kept drinking juice even though I was eating too. I just couldn't let it go.
I never started out to do the whole 92 days as I was not prepared for it but my body was screaming for a fast so I listened. I do however want to do the 92 days with my boyfriend perhaps this summer if possible. In the meantime my body is still asking me to fast and so I will as long as I can. I'd commit to the 92 days if I could BUT I'm leaving my job, moving out of state, and possibly going abroad for a month-all before the end of June. It would be foolish of me and delusional for me to commit to a 92 day feast at this time. I can however commit to the next 15 days so that is what I will do.
SO-see you guys in the morning! I look forward to your posts! :) :)

ok, got some beautiful vitamixed juices in the fridge (so much fun to make) and tomorrow i'm starting anew. 92 days feels so enormous, but one juice at a time. you guys are so inspiring. one of my wisdom teeth has been bothering me, too (they're partially erupted but my amazing dentist said i could keep them as long as i take care of them - they only give me trouble about once a year). chewing has been a challenge and my mouth will enjoy the break.

everyone is doing so great! any amount of time feasting is a huge step in the right direction, this isn't something to surround with guilt or disappointment. if you think about the theory that you go back in time 120 days for every day of juice feasting, even a few days is amazing.

Isabelephant and Beckx, tomorrow will be day 1 again for me too. Were all in this together!!!

Stina, I know what you mean about time for prayer and meditation. Time is the one thing I never have enough of :( . Sometimes I wish I could just move to a cabin in the mountains to escape all the running here and there and never stopping to smell the roses. I want so much to figure out how to change my circumstances. I accept 'what is' much easier now than I used to, but it is still a challenge sometimes. Sometimes I feel like Ive lost control of my life. I know its all my 'ego self' or 'monkey mind' that thinks these things but man.....sigh.......I really need a long feast to get deep inside.
About the lumps on your neck, are they still there?? Are they hard or softer??? Do you think they are just boils needing to release something??? Have you ever had issues there in the past???? I wonder if its lymph moving around??? Did you get any feeling on it during meditation?? Maybe we could all set a time aside that we could send some healing energy to you and the lumps. Energy healing is very powerful. It has worked several times for me.
Oh yeah, congrats on your new job!!! Thats a great job helping the seniors. Good for you!! Best of luck

Until tomorrow!!!

Hi morning everyone. Its good to hear from you Jen and welcome back. Stina I think the lumps might be swollen lymph nodes, do they hurt and yeah are they hard or soft. Anyway what may help maybe some garlic, echinacea and vit C . I got these earlier and I made a juice of orange, garlic, leaf of life and cayenne and that seemed to help. I also had echinacea as well. Leaf of life plant is one that grows in Jamaica and its has antibacterial and other properties. You could use oregano and I would suggests exercising especially walking. This is all if you can afford to do this . I will also pray for your healing as well. I just want to encourage you again and tell you to hang in there.

To everyone else strength and grace
Blessings

i was a bad juice feaster today! finished off my last kombucha of potentially the next 3 months this morning and didn't get to have my first juice until 2 pm! a woman at the program i work at had to go to the hospital and things were hectic for a while. i started getting a little bit on edge just in time to remind myself to DRINK SOME FREAKIN JUICE. :) i feel really heavy in my limbs and kind of spacey today. went for a really short walk, and hoping to go to the gym a little later for maybe 1/2 hour. the weather was so beautiful while i was in work and now that i have a little time to spend outside its windy and about to start pouring rain.

not-so-patiently awaiting a new video on globaljuicefeast.com... i was going to wait to start my feast until the videos started coming again, then i reminded myself i was being silly. but maybe today or tomorrow?

how is everyone doing?

Pretty good, drinking less and less juice though. Happy sailing along with my water and aloe vera right now..which is insane

Loss is speeding up mind so I may have to have some juice over the weekend, in the week it takes so much time or I just cant drink anyways.

Will try

Playing with superfood powders atm.. see if any benefit me..to use post feast.

Love and light guys :D

128 fluid ounces or about 3.79 liters. :)

good day so far, feeling a little less spacey than yesterday. my tongue was so disgustingly coated last night, i probably scraped 4 tablespoons of gunk off of it... but better out than in. i made GRAPE + BLUEBERRY juice today and will enjoy that a little while before the gym tonight. yum. also some really good veggie juice with tomato, celery and lots of herbs.

Hey you guys-

After three days on the Master cleanse lemonade, I wrapped up my fast. My head was really spinning on that. Do you think the maply syrup was feeding my candida and making my brain float through space?

Anyway, yesterday I soaked prunces and ate them. wow, was that good! I'm easing myself back into eating raw gently. Overall, I'd consider it an astounding success, even with the slip of eating I did. I decided to be gentle on myself and consider the whole thing to be a learning adventure. Good Lord, I made it 24 days without eating at all! Now I need to be aware that my body is working much more efficiently and just won't need as many caloires and I need to be aware of portion control!
I definitely want to do more juice feasting in the future. I feel like even 24 days was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to healing. I don't mean to sound like an extremist, and trust me, there's no tendency to anorexia here! It's just that I've come to an intuitive understanding that my body is a toxic waste dump from all of the years of eating crap and it's going to take some concerted effort to release what's deeply imbedded into my system.
But for now....eating's never been more fun! I'll continue to work with my lymphatic system to get those lumps clear up, including visualization exercises, rebounding, appropriate herbs, etc.

Love you guys so much!! Happy, Blessed, Sacred Fasting Times to You!

Love and Peace,

Stina

day 3 is complete. i have a little bit of a sore throat tonight after a 2 hour nap, but this round of 'first three days' is by far the easiest yet as far as detox/cravings go. had a long day, did some landscaping work this morning in the freezing cold... but feeling good. i can't believe tomorrow is day 4 already. i think all the bouts of juice feasting and just drinking tons of juice in general for the last two months has really broken down that belief i had held that living on juice should make me feel weak or ill. i think i've been on just juice for more than 20 of the last 60 days. i haven't gotten those deep benefits that people on a 60 day long term feast have gotten, but i feel like i'm building this as a kind of life practice for myself. i can definitely see myself easily feasting 1-2 days a week for maintenance after i'm done with this feast and eating much more simply.

loving bee pollen these days. two months ago i couldn't stand the taste of it, today i was away from my home for the whole day and realized i was craving it. the corners of my mouth are a little bit sore and slightly painful and i think that has something to do with b vitamins, so it may be a real nutritional craving.

where is everyone?? how are you doing?

Nadia -- good to have you. I'm actually doing a modified juice feast -- allowing myself green smoothies -- and I'm not planning on going the full 92 days.

Ah, to live in Jamaica where there are fresh fruits and greens! I'm in Scotland, so they're harder to come by.

You mentioned having green smoothies, how does this affect your fast, any problems? I ask because I plan to start a fast next Monday and having a smoothie in the morning seems like the way to go for me at least for a few weeks. I am doing this for both health and weight problems.

Thanks

Hi everyone sorry have not been keeping up but, the last few days have been hard. It was that time of the month and I was having horrible cramps, I thought of ending my feast and actually had a smoothie so I could take my medication. I tried every conceivable herbal remedy but none worked so I had to get some pain killers. I still am juicing and just had one smoothie so I don't think I did bad. But I guess this was just one of the obstacles I had to overcome.

Does anyone know why my cramps were so bad could it be because of the detox? What could I have done? I used cramp bark, red raspberry, yarrow, squaw vine and herbal formulas with black cohosh, ginger and vitex and still had no relief I would really appreciate an input as I will be faced with it next month.
I just want everyone to be encouraged and keep pressing on.
Blessings

great thread everyone. i copied some yummy looking recipes for myself. i am concerned though. i know the chances of me actually doing a colonic, enema or SWF is slim to none. can i still safely do this 92 feast?

go to juicefeasting.com to find out!

but in short form... you drink nothing but green juices and fruit juices for 92 days. :)
